Ah yes... all those AI artists taking their lives because their work is being called AI slop... countless...

I've never told anyone how to critique my work, but then again I haven't been 'dehumanized' although I've seen AI bros telling artists to k1ll themselves because we contribute nothing to society that a computer can't do faster. Ossolating between oppressor then oppressed takes a special kinda mind.

See that's the thing too. You are an artist. You make art. Maybe I like it, maybe I hate everything about it, but it is art and I think if making it makes you happy you should keep doing it forever no matter what I think of it. These fucks aren't even artists. This is not art. They are nothing

Very true, I haven't been told to unailved myself thusfar. I've just seen these AI bros bullying artists just starting out. It's a difference in philosophy at a fundamental level people that think art is worthwhile and grifters thinking that it's an easy buck that don't respect art.

This is a classic rethorical approach used to villainize a group of people. It was used against jews in ww2, against gay people in the 80's and is being used against trans people today ("the enemy is weak/inferior but also controlling the world/dangerous at the same time")

There's no work, that's what makes it slop. There's no execution to critique or process to debate, it's slop. Like, that's what people are SAYING when they call it "slop". They don't just mean it's bad; they mean you didn't even try, so why should they waste time delineating all the ways you failed

Their preoccupation with the way people criticize their attempts at making this BS is so tedious. And a fascism indicator. "We need to pass laws to make it illegal to criticize me."

Fine - if they don't want it to be called AI Slop they should also agree that original artists are not the gatekeepers. And that having artistic talent doesn't mean one is absolutely going to get rich and famous.

The combo of his four stated "careers" make me certain he's a lickspittle dipshit who's never worked a day in his life, and shouldn't be trusted to carry a bag of dead fish to the dump. Just the worst vibes.

"do not dehumanize the artist" They dehumanized themselves when they ask their alarm clock to barf out a video or image. It's like calling yourself a car mechanic when you tell the person at the garage to rotate the tires while they have it up for an oil change.

This feels obvious in retrospect but recently I was explaining to an "AI artist" why I don't consider AI an art medium, etc, and received nearly the same response about "dogpiling, harassment, and online bullying" Now I'm convinced that all these "artists" are just generating all their arguments too

Again, obvious in retrospect, but it's so painfully ironic to me that these AI "artists" seem to want to make these greater emotional pleas for humanity like this but can't even write them by themselves

Ugh!! Everybody please stop slop shaming this precious lil baby! 👶🏻😭😭 Slop shaming is a genuine form of oppression and should be taken VERY SERIOUSLY. Don’t you people know that putting other people’s copyrighted work into a digital meat grinder is a HUMAN RIGHT?

Critique the work, sure; - Your dragon looks like it's half dead and coughing on those buildings to cause the identical explosions - Your characters don't walk like humans, they look like they're made from rubber - Your "dialogue" is HORRIFIC (content AND execution) - Where did those legs come from?

When I order a pizza, I don't get to call myself a chef, even if I choose the toppings. They are not artists. They are technicians badly cosplaying as artists.

Oh Ive met this guy. Or someone like him. He has a plan for an industry he doesnt know shit about. But is convinced reality will unfold for him. So Hes a 20-something upper middle class white guy.

There was one of these idiots in my animation class. He thought he was going to make a comic and publish it. Which isn't IMPOSSIBLE. But the second I asked him how he intended to get word out of his book "I'll buy advertising" "where?" "Marvel" "....so you think Marvel will sell ad space to you?"

Then me and my small business mentioned how its often like a five year turn around from beginning to profit when you are starting a company from scratch. His eyes bugged out of his head "five...years?" "Yea I mean you have the overhead cost to pay off and no one knows your product." Awk silence.

I'm sorry where are the artists being dehumanized? All I see is a bunch of thieving assholes who are bitching that people aren't praising them for being thieving assholes

Yes, he's correct. The term ai slop SHOULD make them feel shame and degraded for using such a shitty tool to "experiment" with. Unfortunately, the shame level isn't high enough, because they continue to "experiment" with it.

this is the movie he is making.. sadly Nathaniel blocked me for calling him on this bs... And no, these don't make me angry, these are a source of comedy for me.

"Caught between two machine factions: The ones trying to save us. The ones determined to decide whether humanity deserves another chance." That stuck out to me.

Okay, I’ll humanize my criticism. AI slop represents every insecurity and fault of the losers who use it, mainly tech industry capitalists and their sycophants. Sexualized images of girls for their shameless objectification of women (and oftentimes little girls)…

bombastic action scenes with no direction or emotion because these dudes only care about aesthetic, “touching” moments with zero weight to them because they can’t be bothered to go through the effort of crafting the backdrop that gives those kinds of scenes weight…

And their story premises suck because they have nothing of value to say. AI replacing humanity? What are you even trying to say about anything with that? The Terminator was about how humans allowed technology to surpass us to the point that it started literally destroying us in violent fashion.

You can’t create a similar message when the means from which you craft this media are the very kind of technology that’s bringing destruction to our race, both physically through environmental destruction and job theft, and spiritually through the degradation of art.

Calling it slop *is* critiquing the work. If the artist didn't take them time to draw or create something instead choosing an algorithm to hoover up art to steal and vomit up a cheap imitation that doesn't make sense, why would I want to see it...? This person to didn't take the time, why should I?

Certain parts are fine, when they talk about how artist suffer from public judgement and that it's wrong to dehumanise artists The only fallacy is that, as AI prompters, they are NOT artists. They are STEALING from artists to pose as them with the environment-destroying plagiarism machine. Fuckers.

The only AI "artists" taking their own lives are the ones being told to by their AI "girlfriends." The call is coming from inside the house.

sloppers are not artists, sloppers are just vocal plagiarists ... his arrogance in claiming any of this slop would make him an artist, or that this ungodly slop he's polluting the internet with has any value is ... yeah, it's amusing. All I'm reading is we should call this slop out even louder!

He's so proud of his "Proprietary" AI Engine yet everything it produces is bordering on Birdemic levels of bad. If this wasn't on LinkedIn, I'd think it was satire.

Should be called grift, scam, abomination against decency, art and humanity, a cultural and climatic disaster... So slop is almost a compliment to something that only deserves shame and fire.

AI aside, I'm getting really sick of these grandiose rants from the mediocre. For all their catastrophizing, they only care about money and self-interest. Not getting easy money is their great tragedy.

What does he even mean "dehumanize the artist"? There is no fucking artist. There's a talentless greedy *investor* typing a poorly worded prompt or whatever the fuck software agent is cybershitting this stuff out. Where's the damn artist? It's an atrocity. More video nasty than Cannibal Apocalypse.

"Don't dehumanize the artist" Hm. What would you call 'stealing artists work, feeding it into a machine, reprocessing it to remove all traces of originality, and then representing it as your own'?

He says “Critique the work [but] do not dehumanize the artist.” 🙄 I don’t understand. The “artist” is a _computer_. It is, quite literally, NOT human. How can one “dehumanize” a computer? 🤔 His argument makes no sense. 🤣

In retrospect I should have said "tasteless", not "talentless". I don't really believe in natural talent, but they could have put in the work to become skilled. More damning is that they haven't developed, and don't seem interested in developing, the taste to recognise how bad it looks & sounds.

The AI filmmaking industry can't grow on a foundation of dehumanization? That's quite literally what it is, at its foundation. You can't dehumanize the artist any more than it has already dehumanized itself.

He's so close to realising the point. I am rooting for him. Nobody should want AI to succeed in ANY industry. AI does not exist to assist, but to replace. Only billionaires are funding it, so they can take cut out the human element and make 100% profit from industries. He's a fucking tool.

The funniest thing is this person considers themselves an artist, a film maker and an innovator. None of those qualities are on display in the footage.
