A suggestion: start an initiative to put all government and public institutions under pressure to cancel their X accounts and move to BlueSky. Official institutions paid for by taxpayers should not be involved with Musk’s poisonous and mendacious mouthpiece

While it's a nice idea unless it's made mandatory for all sitting MPs to leave, none can. Imagine the moderates willing to leave vanished over night... it'd leave the extremes who feel at home on that platform representing the country... The moderates may appear to be being repressed there, but...

I don't know about that, but if so, then it must be mandate the government, its employees, representatives and all sitting members of the chambers no longer use or access it for official country use as a pulpitum non grata.

Yes/No; I agree, but build their own Federated platform, as in, there is opensource software that one can easily install in a server… that way they are in 100% control. Build it off gov.uk domain.

Absolutely this, I would say "start a petition" but Ed doesn't need to do that... why should our elected officials and civil servants now be pandering to someone who has behaved in such a manner? X is a private company, not a public body. I'd rather the people I pay taxes for didn't participate.

He hasn’t created anything. He’s bought stuff. The only projects he’s interested in are those where he personally profits. He’s inserted himself into our UK politics because a far right government would tear down rights that would enable him to take advantage and make a profit.

I find it scarier that a man with the biggest platform on the planet, who changes algorithms to make his voice even louder is allowed to continue. It's not just about leaving Twitter, it needs to be banned in the UK and Europe. Deepfakes spreading of Starmer now. Will Musk delete or share them?

Just like Meta, Leon knows Community Notes give a veneer of responsibility, while allowing bigotry and gerrymandering of the highest sort. If the government of Syria being unstable made its leadership members of a proscribed organisation, we have the legislation to add Twitter (X) and Meta brands.
