AI was trained on stolen data, breaching our privacy. AI can sort through the internet, gathering info on us, violating our privacy. There is no privacy in a world with AI. You need to find a CEO who can protect us, not sell us out, or move out of the way for an organization that will.

Do you not see how badly Larian Studios is getting dragged over the coals TODAY for their CEO's mention of using AI? What made you think today of all days was the day to decide to utterly crater your entire user base? Reverse your garbage decisions.

It's so disappointing to learn that my favorite browser has decided to render itself dysfunctional as a line item in its new CEO's resume. This shows such a poor understanding of user needs.

I hope you see not only that "Mozilla Firefox" is trending, but that's it's not for good reasons. Having been a user since version 1.5, I have already demoted Firefox to being my number 2 browser behind Waterfox. Please reconsider your direction before you drop further...or, completely.

How fucking stupid are you? None of us wants an AI-based browser. Loads of us switched to Firebox *because* we wanted to avoid the slop and security/privacy concerns on Chrome. We'll dump you ass so fast you'll be seeing stars.

My friends used Firefox because it'd been one of the few browsers that HADN'T bloated itself with tech bro sludge. As of this post, they're already using forks. Your users are usually those who understand tech enough to have strong opinions about its use — and for AI, they're NEGATIVE. Reconsider.

You should fire your CEO and execs before Mozilla loose all of its userbase. Stop using AI slop, and use your brain instead. Real people are using your browser, not ai tech bros with some shareholding in Ai. When the bubble bursts, your users will be long gone and settled with better non ai browser

AI doesn't work for people. It works against people. You are about to see a massive exodus of users. When all this shakes out, AI browsers and AI software will only be talking to other AI browsers and AI software. The rest of us will have moved on.

Sigh, I recommended Firefox to so many people and now look what you've done!! AI sucks and now, so does your new CEO and his intent... PS: That announcement was laughable. It reads as though he has never written anything besides memos in his life. AI long🧵 but this one really ticks me off!

🧵AI thread post 37 AI contribution to the climate emergency: 'OpenAI’s colossal AI data center targets would consume as much electricity as entire nation of India — 250GW target would require 30 million GPUs annually to ensure continuous operation, emit twice as much carbon dioxide as ExxonMobil'

Adding my voice to the Chorus of people who do NOT want AI baked into the browser. This is what your EXTENSIONS are for. If you absolutely feel the need to integrate AI in the browser, then do so as an optional extension framework. Sincerely, Someone who's used Firefox for 15 years.

NO NO NO NO NO!!! Fire the CEO, and delete the AI garbage out of Firefox, or I will delete Firefox off all of my devices and out of my life. I am so f**king over having AI trash shoved in everything!

And behold, with the arrival of new machine men with machine minds, The Beast became The MechaBeast and the people looked from the Beast to Mammon, and from Mammon to Beast, and from Beast to Mammon again; but already it was impossible to say which was which - The Book of Mozilla 4:20

hugely disappointing. Already very annoying having to remove this stuff, that you're going full steam ahead with this destructive tech is shameful. No longer going to be using your products.

Uh, what's up with this? Evolving into a "modern AI browser" means evolving into "I'm not using Firefox anymore" and I'm sure I'm not the only one. What's the plan here? bsky.app/profile/gami...

The plan is that they'll "evolve" into an AI browser that's just like every other AI browser but worse and late. They'll lose their existing users but replace them with users flooding in from Microsoft and Google for...reasons, I guess. This move happens a lot in companies about to go bust.

You are not listening to "the people" at all. I am going support projects like Ladybird that are building a truly independent browser. But in the meantime, Waterfox looks to be the easiest Firefox fork to switch to, and they officially support Android and Linux. www.waterfox.com/blog/no-ai-h...

waterfox.comNo AI* Here - A Response to Mozilla's Next Chapter - Waterfox BlogMozilla's pivot to AI first browsing raises fundamental questions about what a browser should be.

Chasing a trend that's old enough that the market has already consolidated around a duopoly with crushing dominance? At best, you're showing up a day late and a dollar short. At worst, well, google "Concord" sometime. Trend chasing is poison for a company with a small market share like Mozilla.

It's impressive how many companies are blinded by AI. You had an ideal position as an efficient and open source alternative to Google Chrome, now people are going to find an alternative to you unless you quickly act... Why don't companies never ask their customers... #Waterfox

There's no faster or more effective way to convince your entire userbase to abandon your product and switch to something else than to fill it full of AI slop that nobody asked for or wants.

Allow me to post the same message I posted in the forums here for you to see. I am going to be brutally honest here: I'm militantly anti-AI and think its proliferation has caused innumerable issues societally, including offloading simple cognitive tasks... (1/13)

Proof that someone can become CEO of a company while understanding nothing of its clientele. People will not come to Firefox for its AI - they have Google and MS for that already. All this will do is drive your current userbase away. I'm a Netscape/Firefox user for decades, but if this happens, bye.

The fact of the matter is that the idea of CEOs as being gifted or even just qualified is largely a myth. Time and time again, big CEOs reveal themselves to be incompetent buffoons who only have their position because they were already rich and/or had the right connections.

go fuck yourself you ignorant inbred pieces of shit; we don't want AI. you're going to follow through with this irregardless though and then you're going to be so upset we're posting the consequences of your actions in response. like the poisoned environment and hallucinations.

I see someone participate into "How to destroy our product" course for CEOs. To bad it's been a good time. Time to dig out the old Internet Explorer installer.

I've been a firefox user for nearly 2 decades. You've just pushed me to look at alternatives. AI and privacy are not compatible. You don't understand your user base at all do you.

With all due respect, if you're accepting generative AI in its current form in any way, you have already moved fast and broken things, broken trust, broken communities, broken democracy itself. "We're not going to move so fast anymore" isn't going to fix any of it
