Post

I giggled way more than I should have at this.

I read the book. It's called Three Bags Full.

Holy crap, it's Three Bags Full! Never thought I'd see this one make it to the big screen.

I'm not usually into the talking animals type of movie but I might have to make an exception for this one.

I want to see it! It is based on Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann, which was a wonderful book indeed! She has a second Big Bad Wool which I found quite funny.

And the smartest sheep in the flock - in the book, anyway - is called Miss Maple 🍁

Based on "Three Bags Full" by Leonie Swann. @caitesq.bsky.social and a bunch of other folks all read this book in an early BlueSky moment.

This has actually given me a reason to look forward to 2026.

Yeah, it doesn't look half baaaaad 😁🐑

My new favorite movie that I've never seen.

Finally

The German title of the book it is based on is somewhat clever: "Glennkill: Ein Schafskrimi" Glenkill is the Irish village where shepherd George Glenn is killed. Schafs+krimi = sheep's + crime thriller = Sheep Detective Story

The ultimate cosy woolly mystery

Base on a great book, first of a pair of stories. "Three Bags Full" by Leonie Swann

Ooo and there’s a book? #BookSky 💙📚

I want to buy tickets now.

😂😂😂

It does!

Can’t wait!

Such a good book, as is the sequel.

The book is incredible. Get the audio book because sheep bleating jjjjjjustiiiiice is to die for.

Woollender

I’m there!

Omg

Patting sheep on the head can encourage head-butting. Better to give them scritches on the neck. Happy sheep lean into it, wag their tails, and belch. We have a few cuddlers in our flock. :)

I think dystopian tales broke Craig Mazin's brain

An acid trip for the whole family?

Way more interesting to me than Song Sung Blue.

Ok, I own the book this has got to be based on, but I hadn't managed to read it yet. I am very excited.

Yes!

@nickwithheld.bsky.social

I think I actually read that book, Three Bags Full?!? It was really fun but I can't remember who done it. No clue🙃🕵️🐑

It made immediate sense to me - Texas has Special Rangers for cattle crime. I think the lesser livestock are self adjudicating, though.

I wonder how many years Stewart has wanted to turn his Shakespearean Captain into a slapstick comedian.

Yes!

The murderer won’t be able to pull the wool over these detectives’ eyes.

I loved the book - Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann. I'm all in on crime solving sheep!

Ewedunnit.

omfg these are great puns 🤣

The book (Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann) is fantastic. I'm looking forward to how they transition the story to a movie.

i am snorting. and a great cast! from the Chernobyl guy!

A little disappointed that none of the sheep seem to have an atrocious Cajun accent though.

I've got real tears. I loved these books. Please, not streaming. In real theatres.

You can just click and watch the trailer, you'll see it's not AI!

It’s incredible on audiobook. Worth the price

It's Three Bags Full by Leonie Swan!

"You don't understand, dude. Patrick Stewart is signed on. We have to make it now."

Oh Man. You are so right. This looks hilarious. Can't wait to see it! The movie is set for theatrical release on May 8, 2026, in the United States and the United Kingdom.

I put the book it is based on "Three Bags Full" on hold. The author worked on the script.

The book is. I'm assuming this is an adaptation of Three Bags Full without actually checking.

Ermagerd! I’ve had that on my “to buy” list for ages but have never been able to find a copy I could afford. (I read a library copy.) Maybe now it will be re-released so I can get one.

Looks like it is, according to Wikipedia

It is!

The sequel is out in English!

I know. What? But also, intrigued.

I'm sobbing I can't wait.

Ewejackman

Fun seeing Hugh Jackman be extra Australian

That’s a thing that is!

Top Comment: The Woolverine

<baahahaha!>

Don't lamb-blast him.

At 325°F, basting every 30-45 minutes

Fuck. You.

Says ewe.

Get shorn on arrival

Hilarious, ridiculous, zany, and for one brief moment, that trailer threatened to be a tearjerker. I'm in. I'm confused. But I'm in.

Wait this is CRAIG?!?! Holy SHIT

It's the music. That song is a banger.

OMG, that really does look hilarious.

I'm in ... you had me at Hugh Jackman.

Same studio responsible for the Melania Trump documentary that has Melania Trump as its executive producer, btw.

I got to meet the author of the book in a casual setting and get her talking about the experience of getting some success. She was such a sweetheart.

Yup, I’m in!

Son of a bitch, I'm IN.

I honestly can’t tell what’s AI anymore. I really hope this is real.

SHUT UP & TAKE MY MONEY!!!

OMG, this is glorious!

I prefer this Ram news.

Once shopped in a neighborhood bodega where Patrick Stewart was simultaneously shopping. He did seem really gracious to the staff, but maybe that’s what we want to believe, because he’s cool.

As a New Zealander of Welsh ancestry… I’m in.

Why does this look 1000x better than the Animal Farm movie?

Screenplay by Craig Mazin!

Why do I have to wait so long to see this!! 🥰

I came here to say that! I love the book, and look forward to the movie.

Per wikipedia it's based on it, and I'd heard about an adaptation a while back. It's not a super widely-known book in English so I'm not surprised they're not leaning on it for marketing.

Haven't the faintest! Does knowing the killer ruin mysteries for you? (It doesn't for me.) And I have no idea if the movie is using the exact same plot.

Cool! And a new book to read!

My wife and I watched the trailer this morning in silence, with a growing grin spreading across each of our faces until, as soon as the trailer ended my wife shouted "Ooh we are going to go see that!!"

I need this. 🐏

Chris O'Dowd and Rhys Darby seem like perfect casting for sheep. Can't wait for this.

Are you saying the sheep and goats aren't considered persons in this story just because they're not human?

Trying to imagine the audition for voicing a sheep....

This book is on my nightstand! It's a delight!

My ram hit me from behind when I wasn't looking, and he dislocated my knee. For no goddamn reason. Yes, It does look hilarious.

The book is great! 'Three Bags Full' in the English translation.

An outstanding book + winsome sheep.

This will have to go into my to-be-watched file 🤣

This based on the brilliant Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann. One of my favourite books.

OK, kind of bizarre, but my wife and I are both putting this on a must see list!

I desperately need someone with inside info to let us all know if they used any GenAi/LLMs in the process of making the book into this movie, so I can watch it with a clear conscience.

i'd say i'm in too .... but as a New Zealander people might take it the wrong way 🐑

Omfg. It looks amaaaaaazing!

Can't wait to see this.
