People keep saying the codenames in Metal Gear Solid sound like Megaman X bosses, so I decided to give them actual designs. Matches the scale of my other X mockups. Something I've been sitting on for several years that I finally decided to wrap up tonight. #megaman #pixelart #ドット絵

I adore this Revolver Ocelot design, especially imaginging him as some sort of triple agent conniving mastermind like MGS's Ocelot.

Oh I love this is brilliant, they all look so damn goooood. Really loving that Vulcan Raven and Sniper Wolf design alot, this is some really well done pixel work here!

The shape language of these designs is fascinating. Like it feels it would have come out right after Rockman 8 and &Forte, as the designs look like the specific type of rounded of those two games mixed with X5 and the Z series.

There's plenty of potential codenames in the MGS series, though as far as ones that match MMX naming conventions that are from the same game, I think the only ones I could reasonably do are the characters from MGS Ghost Babel. Though it lacks one or two characters to be a full set of 8.

If you consider the order in which their human counterparts were defeated in the base MGS game, then it's easy to draw a graph as to who's weapon is weak against the other. Let me make a chain post about that...

Name: Uses/Weakness - - - - - - - - - - Octopus: Deception/Fox-Die Ocelot: Old School Warfare/Deception Fox: Meta Hack/Old School Warfare (unarmed) Mantis: Introspection/Meta Hack (controller ports) Wolf: Patience/Introspection (seeing past gender bias) ==END OF DISC 1==

==DISC 2== Raven: Aggressive Fire/Patience (explosive traps) Rex: Existential Strife/Aggressive Fire (no need to hide) Liquid: Fox-Die/Existential Strife (live and let die) And just who would the true Final Boss be? Sigma Snake?

My friend and I play games together, and the last two we finished were Megaman and Metal Gear Solid XD Great job, love the designs!

Simon, please just make a Mega Man clone game. Your fanart of the series from over the years is too painfully good for it to not be playable. Bot Boy. Robo Kid. Something! Just legally-distinct it and make it real!

I'm up for it, though I'd want to do something more than just offbrand Megaman. Besides, you can only have so many companies making 'mega boy.' Because of that saturation, I would need to know there's genuine interest in it first.

Maybe the vertical slice/Kickstarter route? Putting together one playable demo level and then having a crowdfunding campaign to run it up the flagpole and see if enough people would plunk down the cash to invest in full development of a complete game. I'm sure they would!
