This is mostly true. I was in shock and said if the FBI was going to come arrest me then fucking do it already. Ben was the one who held my hand and told that lawyer to fuck off. But YES. We LOVE the NLG. They found me my lawyers and I will owe all of them my life.

Ben Collins@bencollins.bsky.social

Last year today was one of the scariest days of my life. We initially called a lawyer who wanted to work with feds to arrange a perp walk. Kat told that guy to fuck himself. Thank God for the National Lawyer's Guild, who Kat called right after. They were ready to fight the bullshit on zero notice.

Agree with all of this until the last clause. Hegseth ain't leaving until he can turn tanks on American civillians.

Mike Rothschild@rothschildmd.bsky.social

Trying to impeach Trump on day one will fail and make Dems look like Trump-obsessed one trick ponies. But cabinet impeachments should start immediately. File articles against Hegseth at 1PM, dude will resign by dinner.

As a former resident of the County, I nod slowly in recognition of this dynamic.

Collins has just oozed disdain and condescension towards Troy throughout the campaign. It's gross She really thinks that being from a rich family in the County makes her better than him Pretty sure a lot of Mainers have noticed it....and this ad just confirms it These people are vile elitists

Susan Collins’ latest ad: “I know Troy Jackson, but we’re not talking about buying a cord of wood here. We’re sending someone to the U.S. Senate.” Mainers are done with her condescending bullshit.

If one tried to buy a cord of wood from Collins, though, I’m sure she’d promise to be diligent when trying to secure the contract, express concerns near the deadline, and then sell you out to your competitor in the end. That’s not independence.

This is far more elitist and condescending than anything Bruce Braley ever said about Chuck Grassley. Will corporate media give it 10% the attention they gave Braley's comments? (no.)

This is why I’m voting for Prop 40. We need to send every possible message that it is time to tax the oligarchs.

Golden State@goldenstateorg.bsky.social

Prop. 40 is structurally flawed and could be litigated out of existence if it passes. @marielgarza.bsky.social acknowledges this and more but finds a compelling reason to vote for it: to signal that it's time to rein in billionaire power. MORE: www.golden-state.org/the-billiona...

Blunder aside, Vance's whole vibe is so dark and conspiratorial. Adam Hamilton will weaponize "your faith" to "launder an ideology" that "despises how Kansans live?" He's a mainstream Protestant megachurch pastor who went to Oral Roberts!

Democrats need to demonstrate how big a mistake this was in a loud and obvious fashion.

The powerful executives who cozied up to Trump didn't oops accidentally forget about pendulum swings. They either: 1) Like the fascism 2) Calculated it was here to stay, so going along was savvy 3) Saw no real downside, no consequences when the pendulum swung Crucial to show them 3 was a mistake

There are only two explanations for the NYT's habit of presenting GOP operatives and donors as true swing voters: 1. Their reporters and editors are somehow incapable of running a simple Google searches, showing just a staggering level of journalistic incompetence 2. They want to the GOP to win

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

People don’t understand why I keep noting that BlueSky is not a bubble, it is a counterpublic. It serves its own organizational function: you can see in realtime in January 2025, on multiple types of social media, shouting that an executive order is instruction to an agency. This one stuck.

This drives me CRAZY. I grew up playing sports w/ boys. I played on a U12 boys select soccer team, b4 switching to a U12 girls team that kept beating us. Nobody had any issue with any of it. Youth sports have never had the strict sex/gender boundaries that “XX-XY” activists are now trying to defend.

Andrew D Thaler@drandrewthaler.bsky.social

I live in a rural town and, like, I don't know how to tell you this, but the girls play on the boys team and vice versa all the time because otherwise we don't have enough players for a game and it's literally always fine so stop being weirdos about kids sports and just let trans kids play.

I guess it's "hoods off" for the last week before the election.
