A month ago, Sir Jim Ratcliffe lectured the Prime Minister, telling him he should run Britain in the same way he runs Manchester United

Knocked down some home improvement 3D printed projects recently: - a bungee cord to hold the compost paper bags together - an iPad holder for my electronics bench, now that the test screen was moved somewhere else - a cupboard fitted to hold all my 3D printer filament

I suppose the very very small silver lining to the BioWare news is that it's now much less likely that I'll be tempted to buy an EA game and indirectly support Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund and Jared Kushner's investment vehicle.

This is where my brain goes to when I see most sports. “Commentator: Look at the way he contorted himself to reach that ball. - Co-commentator: that’s actually bread and butter for the Venusian with his double-jointed 2-knee right and middle legs, the goalkeeper didn’t know where to look”

New episode of The Games Press today with @dannyodwyer.bsky.social, following his decision that Noclip is about to change the way it makes documentaries. In short, he now says he's mostly done visiting games studios in the style he's been perfecting for 10 years. Big changes! We dig into it.

Something AI is responsible for that doesn't get enough talk: How, when it scrapes a website to illegally steal everything on it, it uses up a ton of its bandwidth allotment, crashing it or racking up massive fees for site owners.

Yet again, the Game UI Database is being scraped to the point that it's getting knocked offline. Even Cloudflare's "I'm under attack" mode isn't working. I just wanted to create a resource for real designers. I'm getting so fucking sick of this.

A bit over 15 years ago, a speaker at a tech conference used a couple of slides that were inappropriately sexual given the conference's guidelines. Afterwards the speaker apologised, the organisers apologised, there were process improvements, and it shouldn't have been a big deal.

The attitude of simply playing everything available to you, regardless of how it was produced or whether it’s even accurate to the real experience, is driving us up the fucking wall. Mindless, uncritical consumption is how we get Palmer Luckey releasing Game Boys built with murder drone parts.

We can now look forward to a long appeal process, I know. But we can also say, now, "Manchester City, who were found guilty of 114 charges..." every time we mention the club's name; and I believe we should. No more "allegations". They were found guilty, and that is a fact.

It's called film "footage" because camera operators initially held the cameras with their feet. That changed after a film shoot in 1931, when an operator got a foot cramp and was forced to hold the camera in his hands. The "footage" he got that day was extraordinary. That man's name? Hans Cameraman.

A world where a twist ending is repurposed as a video title. where a thing's climax has been removed, leaving an advertisment for the gap where it used to be. such things are commonplace in. the twilight zone

Initially I was frustrated with the rise of self-checkout but I appreciated how stores passed the savings on to me rather than pocket the money, fire armies of workers & make me do a job I suck at. It’s also why I’m optimistic about AI! I have been kicked in the head by several horses.
