Young people sacrificed a great deal for their elders during COVID, find housing unattainably expensive, are being told there are no jobs for them because AI, and are seeing class sizes increase whilst pensioners scream about any changes to pension arrangements. No idea why they're furious.

Hey folks. In total honesty my tour is NOT selling well. I’ve sold 30 tickets in a 400 seater in Birmingham, and not much more elsewhere. If you like musical comedy, if you like standup, then please come see my show! And spread the word! The Rachel Parris Songbook tour starts in Nov! Link in bio! 🎶

Adding a door chain would help! Stayed at York Hull Toad Travelodge and traditional key, no chain or way to secure the door from the inside, plus only one fob-accessed security door which can easily be tailgated is an obvious problem waiting to happen. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

"RNLI crew members had been forced to take their permits off their cars after their tyres have been repeatedly slashed. Most of them have been pilloried at the school gates or turned away from local pubs. One man who worked in search and rescue had been beaten unconscious and hospitalised"

I have spent weeks shadowing the RNLI and I can tell you, they do it out of nothing more than compassion. Wrote about the heroes I've met over the years in this free-to-read post. nicolakelly.substack.com/p/the-rnli-a...

I've done a deep-dive on the Harborne and Delo mega-donations over the weekend, and whether they may have to be handed back From my reading, a lot of unlikely things have to be true at once for the two £36m 'gifts' to be allowed once the (retrospective) Representation of the People Bill becomes law

bylinetimes.comWhy Reform UK Could Be Forced to Hand Back Their £72m Donations From Crypto BillionairesChristopher Harborne and Ben Delo gave a record £36 million each over the weekend to Nigel Farage's party, but a new law means they may have to take it all back

A detail missing from The Times story… the woman who took the photo shared it to a Facebook group called ‘South east patriots’.

The Times has run a story this morning about how ‘polite’ the masked men in Dover were to three white ladies on a train. Propaganda in its clumsiest form.

One of the first "outrageous" claims I saw as Jason Arday's media hounding unfolded was that he ran 30 marathons in 35 days! Wow! What a thing to claim! And the newspapers all suggested there was no evidence he actually did it. Well, they clearly didn't look very hard 🙄 🧵 1/26

this is absolutely sickening - not least as the guy who was subject to the false claim and racist intimidation is a *4th generation* Scottish Asian - he's literally more Scottish than I am if this is the metric we are using!

It’s hard to overstate how frightening far right protests and online lies are for real people on the ground. I was in the Gorbals the other day and met people who were really shaken. www.thetimes.com/article/8ca6...

Yes, I pay myself rent in order to avoid tax, but it is coincidentally £1 less than the level at which I would have to declare it under Parliament's transparency rules.

Reform-led Norfolk County Council banning Pride displays and events across the county’s libraries. What we see here is a glimpse at the kind of intolerant and repressive country they would build if ever they formed a government. This then is but a starter. The main course would be even darker.

Yet again, the Telegraph ran a spoiler of this public interest story - based entirely on a briefing from Reform. The same as they did when Anna Isaac broke the original story. We all know whose scoop this was @annaisaac.bsky.social

EXC - The £5m gift to Nigel Farage by a cryptocurrency billionaire was reported to the National Crime Agency by bankers who were concerned it may have been laundered money, the Guardian can reveal. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Farage was given a deadline of 1pm on Tuesday to respond to the Guardian about this article. He gave a video address at 2pm announcing he would force a byelection in Clacton.

Reform have now lost six by-elections in a row in England, Scotland and Wales. Their national poll rating is 26% – below Labour in 1983 – and Farage’s approval rating is -37. They’re very far from the voice of the people and need to stop being treated as such.

Scottish soccer fans in town for the World Cup made a side-trip to Fenway on Sunday and brought actual magic with them. It was such a delight and honor to get to accompany their singing.

Crikey, this is significant. All about Orban's regime showering money on populism abroad including the UK. David Frost mentioned as an alleged recipient, plus Unherd and The Spectator. So much for pushing back against foreign interference. H/t @guystall.bsky.social

Farage's company Thorn in the Side's accounts would imply that his I'm A Celeb fee was paid to it (£1.4m increase in cash between 2023 & 2024). It was still there in the 2025 accounts. So how did he use that money to pay for a house?

I'm not religious, but I respect the importance that faith plays in people's lives. Posting an image of yourself as God is literally blasphemy. It shows a disregard for sacred imagery and, by extension, for the very concept of the divine. Trump should apologize.
