*doakes voice* "There it is!" For years we told you that these weirdos would rather lose to literal nazis than take even a half step to the left. They're more afraid of progressives than they are of the most racist, most violent, most self-immolating part of the extreme right.
"I would rather have the Republicans keep the house." - James Carville
I, too, have never heard the phrase "power concedes nothing without demand," and also believe that mainstream Democrats will do the right thing _this_ time, even though they've already failed to prosecute criminal Republican administrations twice already. Anyways, let me just kick this football...
That you note Trump's DOJ is processing fake crimes, with what I believe is enthusiastic support from Republicans in the House, should cause you to want to vote for Democrats, then give them a chance and see what happens. It's just simple logic which seems to escape Bluesky leftists.

"This pair of grifters would prefer if you just believed them because they're white and don't speak with a notable accent."
not that you should expect anything more than rank idiocy from this pair of racists, but the idea that whiteness means a "high trust" society of "social cohesion" is some of the stupidest shit i have ever heard. these people live in a fantasy land that you could dispel by simply opening a book.

Coming around to the idea that the biggest priority for Americans interested in keeping liberal democracy alive for the next several decades is whole scale reform of the Supreme Court and the judiciary. We can't afford to have Reconstruction 2.0 hampered by the SCOTUS like Reconstruction 1.0 was.

This is oligarchy. "Don't criticize the oligarchs or they will destroy you" is a story about rising dictatorship, but framed as political consultant strategizing. Dems should be riding anti-AI anger to massive gains, but consultant class will help throw that away. www.politico.com/news/2026/09...
This is one way to ensure a blockbuster opening weekend.
Universal Pictures, owned by Comcast, appears to be moving toward canceling the upcoming international release of the Musk documentary, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The documentary’s director, Alex Gibney, recently told the AP that the Musk doc left those who know Elon terrified. /1

@shannimcg.bsky.social had this great insight that the "Woke 1.0" discourse is a product of the "polarization" meta-narrative. Essentially, since we had radical, crazy, dangerous, ideas/movements from the right (MAGA, Jan 6, anti-CRT/DEI), there must have been equivalents on the left. They weren't.

Honestly, I'd say the most disastrous decisions of Obama and Biden were not really holding anyone accountable for crimes committed under the previous administration. Obama wanted to "turn the page" on Iraq and the financial meltdown while Biden never put any urgency behind the January 6th cases
What was the most disastrous decision from the most recent presidents that had effects we feel today? Clinton: Lying under oath and getting away with it (paved way for Trump) Bush: Iraq Obama: Syria and Libya Trump I: Covid and pulling out of JCPOA Biden: Running again Trump II: Iran

Wish I could take the NYT seriously here but they just sound upset a press office is sending PR messages to influencers and are trying to imply it is a pay to play operation: www.nytimes.com/2026/09/04/n...

it's insane they do this bend-over-backwards "critics say it raises questions" shit when the actual law just says "its illegal to put living people on currency"
The U.S. Mint releases video showing the manufacturing process for $1 coins featuring President Trump, issued to mark the United States' 250th anniversary in 2026. Critics have raised questions about the design's legality.

centrist dems be like “we have bold, serious, inspiring policy proposals” and it’s literally fucking taxpayer subsidized car loans
More than 10 million Americans take out a used car loan every year, with an average rate of an insane 11.4%. We lower those rates by 4 points with our FHA for Car Loans proposal, saving the typical borrower $6,000 over the life of their loan.
