It's been a full year since a Jordanian Palestinian Arab won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

The ability to pour hundreds of millions of pounds into a loss-making TV channel, bent on wrenching British politics sharply to the right, is yet another of the ways in which extreme wealth is trying to remake UK democracy. It needs to be part of any serious conversation about political funding.

When I went to Reform to ask why Tice had not declared his trip properly, Tice's response was to ask if I was antisemitic This is a vindication of sorts (also for @garethceredig.bsky.social, and the Naked Week team who had to reassure me that I wasn't) www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I cannot tell you what absolute fiction this is. AI is heading for a crash and this cackhanded Terminator narrative is being engineered to save them. The fact that the unsubstantiated testimony of a former employee has been the top story on BBC News all day is absurd and irresponsible.

Incredible moment in the doc when Farage’s right-hand man Dan Jukes lists several foreign donors who’ve given money to the party via their kids. It’s not just one or two backers - it’s a huge conspiracy cooked up by the party to break the law. It’s bigger than we even thought

I note with astonishment the total lack of reporting about gilt yields falling back to their pre-spike level, the Times piece on how this makes it easier for gov't to fund stuff, and of course the Telegraph front page MARKETS LOVE BURNHAM.

We don't appreciate how great it is to have free art galleries in this country. You can just wander in to so many places and have the most relaxing time away from life's stresses, and it doesn't cost a penny. You don't even have to be an art fan to find the peace in that.

This stopped me in my tracks. An independent study by @qmul.bsky.social has found that after ULEZ was introduced, children’s lungs grew faster in Central London and have now caught up with children outside of the capital. Incredible.

Air pollution stunts children’s lung growth. New Queen Mary research found that improvements in air quality after the introduction of London’s ULEZ are associated with accelerated lung growth in children. Read more: shorturl.at/Jx86o
