Unpopular opinion: LLMs are generally deradicalizing people whose beliefs are based on pure propaganda.
I've been watching this happen slowly with some people I care about. ChatGPT is one of the reasons they finally accept that the NRA, OAN, and NewsMax are lying to them.
mu is now available for open testing on Android play.google.com/store/apps/d...
We’re already aware of some funky text in a couple of places. Please share your feedback and bugs.

This. And it's also incredibly hard to have a conversation about it, if you're not anti-AI in all its aspects you get labeled as fascist in no time.
The topic is complex and it should be treated as such, "AI is bad" is not an argument.
ANTIFA for the win of course. Btw left-win anti-AI orientation is allowing right-win folks to dominate the narrative around AI. Yet another self-inflicted goal of left-win: in this way we will deliver the world to fascists.
I'm excited to announce that the PLC Organization now has a statute! And a bank account! And a @standard.site publication! All the important stuff.
The PLC Org is an independent Swiss Association meant to operate the PLC directory, which collects and distributes signed updates to atproto accounts.
I think the solution in this PR by @pds.dad would solve the issue. It would be nice to know if this is likely to be merged or if there's something that should be refined
github.com/bluesky-soci...
Or maybe I should ask you @alex.bsky.team about this?
It would really be nice to know if you're going to work on the issue, it's being a blocker for many atmosphere apps

I tried answering "How big is AT Protocol in Europe"
It's still an evolving story (and data collection script), but here is my first attempt: atproto.eu/stats/
It includes a breakdown per country, growth chart, PDSes used and the apps/lexicons are most used (beyond microblogging).
Demand DCs use renewable energy. Demand access to open weight models. Learn how to use AI effectively to do things you couldn't otherwise. Dont fire strays at friends
We're pleased to announced that @atmosphereconf.org organizing is underway! We hope you'll join us in Europe, in late April 2027!
In the meantime, you can subscribe to get updates and read about our initial organizing team.
I find it so weird that if aliens came to earth and did what llms are doing, everybody would call them intelligent, probably above human level.
But since the aliens we created live inside computers and do matrix multiplications, people call them stupid.
genuinely, if you're not re-evaluating your position on AI at least once every 1-2 months and re-evaluating how it performs for the types of tasks important to you, then you are not actually challenging your priors.
i know this is crazy! but thats how fast things are moving right now.
one thing i will say is that things are changing fast enough that if your priors are more than a month old, you need to challenge them again! astra for example is a very significant step forward for a lot of people's tasks.
I've been vegan for 10 years, and not once have I persuaded someone to not eat meat by shouting at them or trying to shame them.
It almost never works: aggression & shame are just not something that humans respond to with opinion change. Please log off of the app if you think that that's necessary
I am determined to prove that you can be largely anti-AI but also not be an asshole.
The attitudes of some people on this site will NOT win over any minds or win you over any favours. If you insult someone, you are doing it to a real person. And it sucks!
so... bluesky has long videos now 🫨
here's a longer than usual look at our new theme customization page!
new blog theme options are available to everyone! including new settings for your thumbnail images and more.
also... there may be a few upcoming features hiding in this video 👀
this is huge and very exciting for the social web!
for folks not as deep in the web standards world: Sam works on the Google Chrome browser team. the FedID CG is part of the W3C, the web standards body, so this is all being done in the open and other browsers and protocol ecosystems can benefit
@thisismissem.social@divy.zone and I recently went through an exploration of how the browser can help you login to websites with atproto accounts.
We recently presented to the FedID CG and here is a sneak peek in case you couldn't join!
This is early but we'd love your input before we go too far!
Our mobile app is ready to be tested, DM us if you're interested! This and more news about Currents in our new latest blog post: currents.is/blog/app-tes....
Such exciting news! It's so refreshing to see such organizational structures being experimented with in the Atmosphere, it feels so in line with the whole idea behind it.
Also an inspiration for me. I'm no expert on these topics, but genuinely interested to understand what could apply to Currents.
You've heard all about credible-exit, but what about credible purpose-orientation?
We've long talked big about our ambitions for @roomy.space as a community-owned venture.
Today we take a very concrete step towards reifying our lofty schemes by becoming a member of @modalfoundation.eurosky.social
hello bluesky, this is going to be just as jarring of a change for me as it will be for you all…
my demands are simple: hire me and i can go back to being an ever-changing incorporeal sky avatar
https://dame.is/available
should i change my avatar to a photo of me during this season where i am networking and looking for my next job? is that gonna be more beneficial to my efforts and make me more approachable online?
Is there a way we can get any answer on this?
@jimray.bsky.team are you the person I should ping for this kind of stuff?
Currents users that are on Bluesky PDS aren't able to save anything atm for this reason
I think the solution in this PR by @pds.dad would solve the issue. It would be nice to know if this is likely to be merged or if there's something that should be refined
github.com/bluesky-soci...
Anyone else building on atproto hit the 1000-blobs/day-per-IP limit on uploadBlob?
It's shared across all your users if your backend proxies uploads, so a few bulk imports on @currents.is ate up the whole quota and blocked unrelated users from saving images

Thanks. Yes, that's what I was trying to say, but took too long to get there. Our politics community is strong, and I'd love for us to expand into new communities. Science and sports have already taken off. Birding, gardening, K-pop, we're open to all (except nazis and jerks).
I'd love to see more folks fill out the interest form for testing monetization features on Leaflet!
I'm particularly excited to hear what y'all think about this part — ideas for going *beyond* the typical paid subs model
Leaflet is the new† Substack‡, you heard it here first folks!
✍️ 🍃 💸
†not just new — better — b/c no platform lock-in, great Bluesky integration…and now, monetization too!
‡actually even bigger than that; not just us but a whole open ecosystem replacing Substack! here if you have any q's!
I've been looking for a Pinterest replacement for a while now. Tired of the ads, promoted Pins, AI-generated images, decreasing quality of search results.
Just read about image clipper @currents.is in @tynanpurdy.com 's blog on @pckt.blog. Intrigued! Looking forward to trying.
I appreciate DHH's thoughts, but I disagree on where Europe's problems are, and from where I'm sitting it's not immigration. Thus I wrote a response to his post. dark.ronacher.eu/2026/7/17/li...
Two big announcements:
1. I'm looking for my next job.
2. My website is now one of the most "Atmospheric" websites to date, going beyond just @standard.site to include @teal.fm, @anisota.net, custom lexicons, a status bar, data inspector, and more.
If you want to work together, get in touch!
people love the For You feed, and it shows in the numbers. it generates around 4% of post views inside feeds on Bluesky.
that's amazing especially because it's operated by one dev, @spacecowboy17.bsky.social
given its popularity, we've decided to give it a bump in visibility on the feeds page.
We just launched "Organize mode", a smarter way to manage and search your visual references, plus a supporter tier to help fund development and unlock reserved features.
Can't wait to hear what you think! :)
