This is another reason why central Ohio’s rule against trick or treating on weekends makes no sense - studies show weekdays are *more dangerous* for kids trick or treating than weekends because there are more commuters on weekdays: web.archive.org/web/20201010...

A reminder, because it is almost that time of year: More children are killed by cars on Halloween than any other day of the year, by far. www.vox.com/future-perfe... If you're a parent, I hope you'll do what you can to keep kids safe. If you're driving on Saturday, PLEASE exercise extra caution.

Very cool to see a new version of this paper! Super interesting work

For two years, student-led protests have raged against Aleksandar Vučić and his corrupt government in Serbia. Today, in parliamentary elections, he was toppled. One of the most sustained protest movements in recent European history has succeeded. Resistance works.

Instead of getting mad at The Atlantic--a magazine entirely dedicated to making you upset--you can read the article linked below that explores the theory that crime is high in the US relative to other OECD nations because our police are risk-avoidant and low-effort despite being higher paid.

this is so offensive - excuse me, J. D. Vance went to *the Ohio State University* and can't define socialism

Any fool can just make up lies about his political opponents. In claiming that socialism is about displacing American citizens with immigrants and destroying women’s sports, J.D. Vance foolishly ignores everything actual socialists believe.
