If I contact your organisation to discuss you quoting for some work and you send me marketing emails before any response to my enquiry, guess who's going to be getting the work? Not you. FFS.

Yet she stood for a party, one of whose flagship, headline policies is to stop other refugees like her from getting in, staying here safely and thriving.

Sagal Abdi-Wali came to the UK aged 7 having fled the war in Somalia with her family. She has thrived. Leader of Camden council and now the MP for Holborn and St Pancras. A narrative that runs counter to all we are told about refugees. Congratulations www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

I can't believe how many articles there are in the guardian saying Polanski should resign - he's a big reason the Greens were even in contention in any of these by-elections! It's like my club Coventry finishing 2nd in the prem then saying manager should resign because they didn't win it

Its taken me more than a month to finally read something which should be taught at schools and universities, and in professional development. Thank you @iris_meredith@mastodon.social for writing this, and I hope this has some sort of ripple effect, eventually. deadsimpletech.com/blog/no-such...

It’s a mark of the corruption of our whole way of thinking about the world that trying to meet a planetary emergency is routinely described as “ideological”, while continuing to accelerate it is presented as “pragmatic” and “economic”.

I've spent the last two years being tortured by Tenable Nessus, and have concluded it is the MOST "Well, actually" piece of software ever made. Its relentless flagging of component vulnerabilities, the frequent false positives, its just garbage.

🧵 As front-page headlines go, this has to be one of the most misleading I've seen in a long time It's an out-and-out lie But notice the trick they use to get away with it...👀 *They're* not lying - they're just quoting someone else who is👍🏻 In this case, the leader of the opposition🙄 1/33

The complete and total collapse of state function in the face of far right extremists. It is frankly ludicrous that Daniel Thomas continues to be at large given the series of crimes committed which he has literally filmed.

Worrying scenes in the Channel today, for all interested in asylum policy and maritime tactics. A small boat from Normandy spent more than 30 hours at sea. Those on board now on their 2nd rescue vessel as Border Force forced to play cat and mouse with far-right activists who have their own boat.

Struggling to think how anyone living or working in a seaside community would even consider doing this to RNLI volunteers aka THEIR OWN NEIGHBOURS WHO WOULD DROP EVERYTHING TO SAVE THEM FROM DROWNING WHEN THE CALL CAME IN

Paul Nowak from the @tuc.org.uk : "I think these donations stink & the British public will be rightly asking.. what they want for their money" Wilfred Frost: "Is it a fair question what the unions want for the money you give?" "Absolutely.. decent employment rights.. investing in public services"

OMG I've just seen my daughter's School Social Time Map, and WTF it this BS, they've implemented some sort of prison segregation system which appears to be entirely anti social/anti fun. I'm pleased to hear pupils ignore it, but really?! Is this normal in UK schools?

I just think that risking your life at a moment's notice to save people you've never met in exchange for no money is a better expression of patriotism than dressing up like a Poundshop paramilitary and intimidating families with kids trying to get onto a ferry.

80 year-olds with pro-Palestine signs: arrested as terrorists. Greens planning to block a road, to highlight an existential crisis: sent down for years. Masked far-right thugs blocking roads and ports, using intimidation, obstruction & threatening behaviour: no arrests. The real two-tier policing.

Does anyone with an understanding (if such is possible) or #cyberessentials explain how the IASME guidance says third party contractor devices are IN scope, and the NCSC infrastructure requirements for CE (table 2)says they're NOT in scope? Seems like contradictory positions. 1/2

this is absolutely correct and the other piece of it is that there’s this little thrill they get from defending the worst views imaginable because it lets them feel like they’re deeply principled about free speech after all, the worse the views they defend the more principled they are, right?

Christina Holland@mortalwombat.info

I think the thing the racist prof defenders imply but don't like to admit is there's no benefit to hiring/debating a guy who says mushrooms are created by fae because it's obviously silly but they do think it's worth your time to debate a race science guy because they think he's partially correct

One of the first "outrageous" claims I saw as Jason Arday's media hounding unfolded was that he ran 30 marathons in 35 days! Wow! What a thing to claim! And the newspapers all suggested there was no evidence he actually did it. Well, they clearly didn't look very hard 🙄 🧵 1/26

“Reform will end ‘something for nothing’ Britain.” - Nigel Farage. He receives £98,599 a year as an MP, yet for more than three months this year he didn't cast a single parliamentary vote or make a single written contribution or speech in Parliament either. But yes, let’s shout at poor people

When I see commentators using terms like “DEI” I immediately suspect that they’re trying to ignite a US inspired (and maybe funded?) culture war here. There are high-up editors at prestigious publications who wrote or greenlit like dozens of “Moon Base to Open Within Six Years” or “Space Hotel Slated for 2026” headlines. Nothing happened to them. They just get to keep doing it. Wild.

We are on the front line of climate breakdown. This is an emergency and politicians must act like it. Perhaps Andy Burnham could explain the "pragmatism" of drilling in the North Sea to the residents of Worcestershire with burnt out homes. www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/...

Downing Street's press release for Burnham's "emergency" Cobra meeting on the drought didn't even mention climate, with the Prime Minister blaming the growing numbers of wildfires on disposable barbecues. He's since appeared on GB News this afternoon to talk about migrant camps
