Caught myself feeling increasingly doomed and overwhelmed and realized that my music quit playing awhile ago and I’ve just been sitting here with headphones in being oppressed by the ringing in my ears.

What lovely news to start the day with! Congrats, @geoffgraham.me

CSS-Tricks has a new owner! Yes, I've got the keys to the castle, so to speak. And, even after 12 years of working on the site, I'll admit I'm a little overwhelmed and nervous about that. https://css-tricks.com/css-tricks-has-a-new-owner/

sorry for the x screenshot but sort of a good synopsis of the days events

It’s cool, and not incredibly demoralizing, that the last ~25 years (? more?) have been an increasingly flagrant demonstration that The Rules, as we were brought up to understand them, just do not apply to a lot of people

It’s a classic tale by now but my dad got a job somewhere in his early 30s after getting an mba and then stayed until he retired. I don’t know a single person living that life, no matter what field they’re in.

I feel like we don’t talk about millennials in particular, hitting our 40s - in earlier generations many of us would be reaching the peak of our careers, but because of disaster after disaster, locust after locust eating our industries, many of us are on our 3rd or 4th fresh start.

Old Man Vandehey reposted

i'm not the first person to say it but it sure is fucked up how many popular video games these days are just "wouldn't it be cool if you could pursue a single career you enjoy, with plenty of time for rest, and get paid a reasonable living wage for doing so"

🛸 Hey y'all! I will be out of town over during the time we would normally record an upcoming episode, so I thought I'd see if we can get enough questions to pre-record a Q&A episode to schedule for release that week. Please reply with any questions you'd like us to answer!

Take a break from being depressed that everything you love is being destroyed by slop for a moment and let me tell you about the beautiful symbiotic relationship between graffiti writers, train yard workers, and model train enthusiasts.

I hate AI slop. I hate AI art. I hate AI music. Writing is definitely best left to humans. But in the field of software development, we've hit a revolutionary tipping point. 2026 is the year when the models became good enough to solve hard problems autonomously. this is the new reality.

This is pretty fucking wild. I had assumed in a worst case scenario he would target blue zip codes and toss ballots based on technicalities but this is even worse than I imagined.

How have we had keyboard innovations like the Windows key (lol) or the Fn key, but still haven't made the Caps Lock key change the capitalization of highlighted text?? If I highlight a sentence and hit Caps Lock, it should cycle through ALL CAPS, all lower, And Title Case like come ONNNNN

It’s worth noting that Taco Bell identified the source before the FDA did, and promptly pulled it from their stores. The FDA didn’t even name the source until Taylor Farms outed themselves, and hasn’t issued a recall. Basically, Taco Bell is now a more reliable authority than the FDA.

A quick word on Taco Bell: That's where we found the suspected lettuce, and it's not bc Taco Bell is gross. It's bc Taco Bell is REALLY GOOD at tracing product! Keeping track of exactly where they got their ingredients, & exactly what restaurants each shipment of ingredients went to!

Just went to see the Odyssey. Had a great time, longer than I expected, I'm getting texts from my gf like "Are you ever coming home." Then I'm walking home and you wouldn't believe the cast of characters that got in my way. Like the gods were against me. And you wouldnt believe what I came home to

Many, many years ago I worked for a certain legal news website to which Lindsey Graham subscribed. Anyway i hardcoded it to always spell his name wrong in the top corner, no matter how many times he tried to manually correct it.
