Wd normally assume this is legit--not a standard-issue political enemy anyway--but there is no normal, and plenty of infighting in admin.

A federal judge has extended an order blocking the Trump administration from banning reporters for three news outlets from the White House, as the extraordinary case pitting the president against the media makes its way through the legal system.
Judge Kelly issues a preliminary injunction against Trump’s CNN/Politico/MSNOW ban, finds the news orgs likely to succeed on their Due Process claims and their First Amendment claims

I am entirely serious when I say that this should be seen as a moderate position. It specifically and surgically dismantles institutions that did not exist pre-9/11 and assigns their functions much as they were assigned pre-9/11.
Rep. Delia C. Ramirez has introduced a bill that would abolish not just ICE, but the DHS altogether, repealing the 2002 law establishing the agency and replacing it with one focused on protecting civil and human rights.

The new black (black dye is cheaper) British passport sums up Brexit perfectly, made by a French Company in Poland and shipped from Germany.
That's your sovereignty.

I have serious concerns about the purchase of the NWDC and my ability to continue to conduct oversight.
That’s why I’m leading over a dozen Members in demanding answers from DHS on their plans for this facility. https://bit.ly/4hWtSds
This bill would abolish ICE, DHS, and CBP, transferring legitimate customs duties to other departments. It would sunset Section 219 of the INA close the Guantánamo Bay detention facility and shutter all immigration detention centers.
You have my sword, milady.

Just like Exxon knew about the impacts of climate change, the beef industry knew too.

I can’t imagine any off the record remarks were removed from the audio recording before it was shared—including before it was potentially uploaded into an AI service.
While digging around their website, I found their ethics policy—including a section on AI-generated content.
I suspect that’s a part of what happened here. And I’m upset about that too! I did NOT speak to a journalist with the assumption that my interview would be funneled into producing AI slop.
As an update for anyone who isn’t digging through the comments:
I found more articles by USA Today journalists I’ve never met. There are THREE that used quotes from my interview recording—including many quotes that were never publicly published anywhere else.
And still, all of it could have been avoided if USA Today respected the experts they interview.
They could have been one of the only publications to get it right *from the beginning* by platforming the concerns that sexual violence researchers had as soon as we saw the DA's statement.
After I posted this thread, I got an email from an editor indicating the story had been updated.
They removed my quote and added new text about the developments in the case. I don't know if they ever would have done that without pressure, but it's something.
