Many comments on the great election victories in Brazil and Serbia state that the authorian right is in decline or that voters have rejected far-right authoritarianism. That is a wrong interpretation of what happened. Progressive movements mobilized and beat the authoritarian right. That's different

The people who trade in despair, including progressives on here, are not their enemies. They are their handmaidens.

I know I say this every time, but it's true. They try to make you believe they are inevitable, when in fact they are defeatable. They do this because once people believe they will always win, there's no point fighting back.

The mobilization itself was already not something I ever expected to see, but to actually win? Hell, to double the winning margin from the 2022 runoff? Genuinely surreal. Maybe child raping billionaires *don't* have to run the world with a shit-eating grin. Maybe that can stop.

The people of Serbia celebrating the defeat of the dictator who held full authoritarian control of their country for nearly 14 years. This is what democracy looks like.

Typical Kuessenberg, she obviously forgets there's the 3 month rule, and most EU citizens coming to UK come to work

Lightacandle@lightacandle.bsky.social

Laura Kuessenberg promoting her morning programme on BBC News attacks Andy Burnham's comments on renewing relationships with EU stating this will mean 'unlimited immigration going backwards and forwards.' How does she get away with that?

Sport radio is on its latest bout of, “One more managerial change will turn around Manchester United”, when the whole enterprise remains fundamentally, perpetually cursed by a takeover expressly designed to bleed dry a club and enrich a family - cheerily waved through by a certain Alex Ferguson.

This isn’t mentioned often enough when this gormless twat bobs to the surface. It should be burnt into our psyche that Hunt is fucking hopeless.

Fascinating Jeremy, now tell us about the time you cut national insurance twice as an electoral game despite knowing we couldn't afford it.

I would like my free movement back, which was taken away by Brexit. To be able to live, work, retire freely again on the vast county we all share.

Remember when Reform MP Andrew Rosindell went on GB News to accuse Labour of being a “government of self-service” and called Keir Starmer accepting gifts from donors “utterly shameful”? We do. 🧾 Well, it turns out Mr Rosindell has been enjoying some rather substantial hospitality himself. 🤔

Absolutely disgusting, but what can we expect from an adjudicated rapist and a congenital liar?

Incredibly refreshing to have a Prime Minister say that they’re open to free movement rather than that they to hope to negotiate a special cakeist opt-out.

BBC report sanitises the overt racism: It notes that organisers warned marchers not to talk to journalists, then gives the "anti-immigration group"'s own sanitised description of itself. It does not report they chanted "England for the white man" in the streets. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Even credulous is generous when the BBC is choosing not to report what they’re actually chanting at the actual rally, and instead going hunting online for more palatable words to use. That’s gone a bit beyond credulous

I'm the ideal person to lecture teachers on hard work, since I’m usually too busy with my 12 side grifts to bother turning up for the full-time job I’m paid to do and because I had the 4th worst attendance record out of 751 MEPs in the EU Parliament.
