Pharmacists spend years and a bunch of money on a fancy degree just to end up working in the back of a grocery store and selling drugs, which I did as a 15-year-old

Our societal systems have elevated to untold power and wealth the most bent and twisted humans among us, people who exploit their fellow humans to such a degree they learn to scorn humanity. Little wonder the tools they build seek to eliminate the problem of humans from the equation of society.

America is rich and the UK is poor… True but this statistic shocked me… The average wealth per American adult is $620k but the median is only $124k! The average wealth per UK adult is $339k and the median is $176k. 🧵

This right here: “Not introducing articles of impeachment is a message that Trump hasn't committed impeachable offenses.”

How are voters meant to understand how serious things are if in lieu of shouting fire AND going into building with hoses, you're simply posting fire safety suggestions on social media? Not introducing articles of impeachment is a message that Trump hasn't committed impeachable offenses.

I went table to table in a Vero Beach Waffle House asking retirees how the market crash has impacted them. Most laughed with satisfaction, explaining that they’d long ago sold their stocks to invest in $TRUMP coin, $MELANIA coin, and limited edition MyPillows.

Effective Altruism *was* Effective Sociopathy. It was a gloss on selfishness that presumed the existence of benevolent, omniscient billionaires who could do cost/benefit analysis encompassing the entire future of humanity. Funny how the math always worked out to "keep the money for later use."

For all the hand wringing about tech-world interest in Effective Altruism, it seems distinctly preferable to the currently empowered strain of Effective Sociopathy

Pushing live production code cooked up by some young coders over a week of sleepness nights in place of a legacy system that is fundamental to the operation of the US government is against every programming best practice.
