In a barely more normal time, the Speaker of the House would call Congress back to have a vote to keep the troops paid, putting pressure on Dems to take some heat off the GOP or look like the bad guys. But MAGA is too scared of a vote on releasing the Epstein files to do that.

I guess that's a better solution than simply having Congress back in session to quickly pass legislation to make sure troops get paid, because the imaginary donor solution doesn't get the 218th vote to release the Epstein files sworn in.
