Q: Is there anything stopping state law enforcement from conducted an independent investigation even if the feds don't want it? JACOBSON: Without assistance from the FBI, we would be at a loss to be able to initiate & conduct a thorough investigation. It would be very difficult if not impossible

What happened to "Arm teachers to protect students from armed masked strangers" Did they want a gun battle at a school?

So they can control the narrative. I found it interesting that Vance has already started the extenuating circumstance (PTSD) excuse/cover. I can hear the administration claiming he's not fit to stand trial.

Hang on… Oregon can but Minnesota can’t? bsky.app/profile/glen...

The investigation appears to be the first since Oregon officials warned the federal government in November that they would investigate and prosecute any federal agents who use force “beyond the reasonable scope of their duties.”

Issue arrest warrant. Arrest. Continue to investigate. Fixed that for you buddies. States have to stop being cowardly. Fuck the FBI. Fuck the toddler Shitler in office.

na.. just use trumps playbook.. charge it and see what happens.. but put the guy if cuffs and perp walk him..let him plead out in 8 months.. but PUT HIM IN CUFFS. If you have video of a shooting.. you have proof. Self defense? Let a jury decide

They aren’t able to access the evidence so I guess they would be limited to eye witness accounts and bystander videos, which seems like it would be enough to prove beyond a reasonable doubt.

The state of Minnesota needs to issue a subpoena to the FBI demanding that evidence be shared/turned over to them. If the FBI refuses, which they undoubtedly will, issue arrest warrants for Patel and whomever else fails to comply.

I don’t understand why this is. They have access to video evidence of the murder happening in real time. Is there a jury on planet earth that would not convict on that basis? Also, how hard could it be to find this guy? Fuck this shit. Where are the legal experts??

A murder was committed on video. What would the police do in a situation not involving the FBI, with the same evidence available? Investigate properly, or throw up their hands? It could not be more clear the FBI will not prosecute under any circumstances. You still investigate. That's the job.

Its infuriating to sit here and take the punches over and over again because any REAL attempt at protest and justice will just result in us losing everything. Its coming anyway. No one is stopping him. The war powers resolution vote gave me a little hope at least.

So I guess this is the reason none of the crimes are solved by your department....you can't solve crimes unless an outer resources do your job for you? If I was the mayor...the next words out of my mouth would be..."Your Fired"!

I’d suggest public hearings from all the witnesses as a starting point. If the regime doesn’t want to send anyone then you can draw your own conclusion

A guy shot a woman in the face in broad daylight, captured from multiple angles on video, and you're saying that even with a budget that's devoured most of the rest of state and local government, that you can't investigate?? Come on

Minnesota is considered a "donor" state that gives the Federal government about $120B in tax revenue but only gets $75B back in Federal funding. They give 60% more than they take in. Time for Blue States to starve the MAGA terrorist state.

This would be close to the "shot heard around the world" unless that's already happened in Venezuela or Minnesota. Also the time for EVERYONE to denounce any US military action regarding Greenland, Columbia, Pamama or Canada.

Not being a lawyer, you can take what I say with a grain of salt. The feds can take a state investigation away to have their own, but they could not stop a state investigation from being started. The feds have more resources especially if people from out of state are involved though.

Gov. needs to stop being a wimp and fucking arrest them. Conduct your own investigation and arrest anyone for obstruction. Remember, "they can beat the rap, but not the ride" mentality. Next time ICE lands in your city, follow them around in marked cars sirens blaring.

Oh! It’s hard? So sorry. Didn’t mean to suggest you so hard things. Fascism and being shot in the face it is! As long as that’s easier.

What do your police do? Don't they investigate? Who investigates all of your crimes? Someone/thing/org does. WHY is it impossible? It can't be. Put ads in the paper, you may find some ICE folks willing to talk, on record. Lots of folks witnessed.

Looking forward to the day Kristi Noem goes to jail for obstruction & her massive cover-ups, including the cover-up of Renee Good's murder. #2026Elections #2026Midterms #AbolishICE #Minneapolis

State law enforcement needs to think outside the box. Go to court. Subpoena the FBI for evidence and put them on notice not to destroy evidence. Get an arrest warrant. The videos alone are enough to convince a grand jury to indict.

Here's a tip: 1. Empanel a grand jury for state murder charges 2. Show them videos 3. Present witness statements 4. Let the GJ investigate and issue subponeas 5. Secure an indictment 6. Fight in court when DOJ refuses to remand Supremacy clause doesn't shield behavior not "necessary and proper"

this is why no one sane trusts politicians, even the ones that claim to be on your side avoid doing things the things that are right because they’re scared it will be unpopular

Can they not get a subpoena for ballistic evidence and charge based on the video? I don’t understand how they can’t get around this in a state court, someone explain it to me like I’m an idiot please.

Bullshit. You have witnesses. You have video from several angles. You have identified the shooter. You have a dead woman. How much more investigating is required, in public in broad daylight. wtf?!

There is a video, which at the very least, makes that shooter a person of interest. Pick them up and ask a few questions.

Untainted forensic evidence (from the car, gun, autopsy, etc.), a definitive ID of the shooter, eyewitness accounts... No one wants to hear this, but in a court of law, the videos are NOT ENOUGH. Esp. when federal agents have wide latitude 2 operate & Kash Patel's FBI has hijacked the investigation

Many people are indicted with less evidence than multi-angled video of the actual incident. After that one presumes that even this government would be compelled to produce whatever they have to help their own officer defend himself? Sincere question, I am not an attorney.

If someone can be arrested and charged with possession of marijuana because someone found weed in their pocket, they can certainly be arrested and charged with murder for killing someone on video.

"Many people" are not Federal law enforcement agents. They have "qualified immunity" on steroids. A local prosecutor will pursue arrest/indictment only if they have as airtight of a homicide case as possible, and even then, there's a significant chance the shooter walks. (Also not an attorney.)

Ffs someone get an AG like Leticia James involved, because saying they can't investigate properly, while having MULTIPLE witnesses & evidence, & the perp fled the scene of the crime - seems like someone w a spine could bring charges.

"JACOBSON: Without assistance from the FBI, we would be at a loss to be able to initiate & conduct a thorough investigation. It would be very difficult if not impossible." Why, though? You have detectives, you have video footage, you have eye witnesses. Do your job.

They need to figure it out. They have people and they have resources. If a bunch of internet sleuths can solve crimes in days then these people can pull together and get the job done. Hire former FBI agents, do whatever because this administration is dependent on us throwing our hands.
