Q: Can you talk about the legal authority under which the federal govt pauses legally obligated funds, such as Medicaid? JD VANCE: Congress appropriates the money. We're the ones who actually make sure it actually goes to the people it ought to go to

But we send money to the Pentagon all the time and they haven’t passed an audit in years. Bitch slapping MN over fraud when the state has prosecuted dozens of people and still does. This is just another blue states bad, red states good. Maybe send trained investigators & not poorly trained goons.

So…if it’s going to fraudsters…and the federal government makes sure it’s going to who it needs to go to…then…the federal government is making sure it’s going to fraudsters? The math isn’t mathing.

The U.S. government functioned like an adult suffering from severe depression. It was present. It did what little it could with the limited energy available. It's literally broken bad at this point. Trump's state of the Union was Walter pestering Jesse with "it's time to cook!"

He's just such a fucking douchebag. Ignoring his shitty politics and penchant for chesterfields for a moment, on the very face of it he's just a heaping douchebag of a human being.

"We're the ones who actually make sure it actually goes to the people it ought to go to" But you're not doing that if you don't send it anyone whether they are the right people or not.

I think some political action committee needs to set up a table outside of all federal Medicaid offices with voter registration forms and a printed copy of this statement from the vice president that you don't deserve this money if he doesn't say you do.

I worked with many YLS grads through the years, a couple are now close friends, but also the worst and least competent lawyers I’ve encountered in my practice are invariably YLS grads.

Yale is less a law school and more a finishing school for "interesting" people who did well in college and scored 178-180 on the LSATs. They don't grade you, students basically don't have to worry about landing a job, a ton end up in academia or policy jobs and eventually as politicians.

I would say less finishing school and more clerkship factory—but it’s not ideal that the school fielding the most clerks is doing the worst job teaching legal analysis and principles.

And they'll get away with it because a missing mom update is more important in major legacy media. So we get it now and can we stop the charade already? The question is not the daily outrages but how they get away with them. Corporate power and their propaganda corp media...that's all of it.

"We're the ones who actually make sure it actually goes to the people it ought to go to." Even if they had the authority, how does stopping funds for MN Medicare make it go to "the people it ought to go?" No money means no money. You can look at every state & federal agency & find examples of fraud.

They don’t have the knowledge to ask follow up question. Markwayne was on a news program the other night talking about the Ayatollah who came to power in 1979 is currently trying to do now in Iran. Contemplating if he’s suicidal. And the anchor says nothing, not even a “WTF?!?!” look on her face.

The Executive Branch does not have the primary authority to decide where federal money goes. Under the Constitution, Congress holds the "power of the purse," meaning they pass laws to appropriate funds, while the Executive Branch is responsible for administering and spending those funds AS DIRECTED.

That didn't answer the question, under what legal authority? Same as when Bessent was asked about the legal authority to defer cash from stolen Venezuelan oil to Qatari bank accounts. Because there is none.

The Ivy league has given us: Ted Cruz Stephen Bannon Jared Kushner Mike Pompeo Donald Trump JD Vance Josh Hawley Elise Stefanik John Roberts Brett Kavanagh And the list goes on. The Ivy League is a joke and a disgrace and should be forever shamed as higher institutions of learning because of it.
