I recommend people read this to get a sense of the president's grave cognitive impairment. Trump is either unwilling or unable (or maybe both) to answer the questions he's actually asked, so he just rants and raves while the interviewers do their best to provide structure to his random brain firings

This is the same gibber ranting Trump has been doing for decades. He has always been unfit to hold any elected office. What is obvious to normal people, is somehow invisible to MAGA.

Congress is just people monetizing cowardice these days. Especially the U. S. Senate. bsky.app/profile/9ont...

My 2026- 2028 predictions: - they'll 25th amendment tRUmp right after midterms (see repeat cognitive exams) - Vance will become president, eligible for 2 more consecutive elections - Alito & Thomas will retire. Giving GOP 5 of 9 YOUNG, ultra-conservatives 1/2

Don't know why I'm supposed to take time out of my day to read some Old Man Yells At Cloud rantings. I recommend people skip that garbage (from the same media outlets that downplayed his dementia and fascism) and do something to help out their local elections.

-find out what's going to be on your ballot -make a voting plan -research your candidates and ballot initiatives hint: probably both parties have some or a lot of this information on their website! you can email local candidates to ask where they stand on an issue! All better use of your time tbh.

If you ask Trump a question and then capitulate to whatever bullshit he spouts as being a valid answer to the question, who is at fault? You are.

I think it's a pretty good photo - one that Trump himself would hate. It makes him look old and lost, with those watery eyes, staring off into space.

It is really important to realize that THIS is the deteriorating mental condition that was witnessed in person by the Chinese last week. They know exactly how to deal with him no better than ever.

First paragraph in and it’s “tying an onion to my belt and give me five bees for a quarter” level of unnecessary and nonsensical details in his answer. Everyone has or has had a grandparent who eventually started talking like this.

The last sentence from him is a great summary of the whole thing: "I don't know what the hell's wrong." My God, he's getting worse before our eyes!

Trump’s malignant narcissism, coupled with his life as a con man & pathological liar, makes it absolutely impossible for him to answer a direct question. Or to give details when he announces a (concept of a) plan. He avoids the possibility of becoming pinned down, or held accountable at all costs.

I tried to read it but I just really don’t care what the 🍊💩 has to say about anything. Reading what he says is almost as grating as listening to his stupid voice. And it’s all lies so who cares.

What's the point? He was just as insane against Harris, and he didn't lose. You should remember "they're eating the cats", or his truth social thing full of crazy AI slops. The argument of reason doesn't flip over republicans. You have better chance when republicans realize that trump lied to them.

When will the press stop covering / enabling the Shit Turd in Chief? Instead of parsing his incoherent ranting into the structure of the questions asked, how about more journalists (or really their editors) start running with the actual story--this man is dangerously incompetent and unfit.

The Republican Party & Republican voters chose this man to be their leader & standard-bearer THREE times. If for no other reason than horrible lack of judgement (& god knows there are countless other reasons too) we can NEVER allow any Republican near our governance, politics, or civic life again.

Why is the GOPRussia being led around by the nose by a rotten, corrupt, bellicose, traitorous, declining, ignorant fool a bad thing? Other than the damage done in the interim. He just exposes them, their Putin-philia, their elevation of power above all, their self dealing, let them eat their cake.

The idiot still doesn’t understand who pays the tariff bill. And the thought that “we” make $40 billion by not buying Swiss watches . . . 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Best quote ever about Trump. "It's almost impossible to believe he exists. It's as if we took everything that was bad about America, scraped it up off the floor, wrapped it all up in an old hot dog skin, and then taught it to make noises with its face." Anthony Citrano Sep 7, 2020

Trump’s always spoken the “language of the (white, aggrieved, & poorly educated) people.“ Most Americans don’t read much or well & don’t see Trump—or themselves— as incoherent. Their illiteracy meant they couldn’t read Project 2025 to save their lives. Welcome to the Republican States of America.

And here’s Russell Vought’s dream come true. bsky.app/profile/atru...

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

"He's gonna fix it. Believe in him ... all the abortion, it's evil ... I want to see 2 people -- Trump & Jesus...we do not want Muslims taking over...I have horrible thoughts. I don't think they should be here. This isn't their country...they need to pack up & go back where they came from."

The media treated every Biden slip of the tongue as if it were proof he was dying right before our eyes. Trump doesn’t even know where he is or what he’s supposed to be doing and the media acts like it’s a personality quirk they need to adjust to to keep up appearances that this is all normal.

I've always found it difficult to read a transcript of him speaking. It's always been incoherent and weird.

The disassembling of djt's thought processing during the interview appears, to me, as moderate to moderately severe dementia.

I really appreciate Time running this more or less verbatim, as opposed to the NYT's longstanding habit of trying to make him sound relatively cogent. He's clearly not mentally or emotionally fit for this job or really any job.

Where have you gone, Jaime Lannister? A nation turns its lonely eyes to you... whoa, whoa, whoa What's that you say, Mrs. Robinson? The King Slayer has left and gone away, hey, hey, hey Hey, hey, hey

Trump, is king of word salad.. He’s all over the map nothing. he’s says make any sense. Most of the time he doesn’t know himself what’s he talking about. Ask him to repeat what he said bet you he can’t remember. He loves the sound of his voice.

This absolutely is worth reading, Trump struggles to string a coherent sentence together, he rambles and goes off topic. The only constants are how well great he thinks he is, how unfairly he believes he is treated and how he loves having so much power

He was lying constantly, but he was frequently incoherent as well. Just because you can sometimes, with effort, figure out what he was trying to talk about does not mean he was expressing thoughts coherently.

This! His SI and Lake America BS are because they provide him with talking points he can keep in his head so he doesn’t have to discuss anything substantive *because he can’t*.

Got insane. To where he was swearing at news agencies quoting him or pointing out things that are actually happening. Rather than outright lies he's spouting. "manufacturing employment has faced net contractions or a slowdown, dropping by roughly 35,000 to 75,000 jobs since the start of the term"

This interview is a document of Trump's alarming mental decline. I've rarely seen a public person—let alone president—uttering such wild ramblings/rantings/ravings. It reminds me of Hitler's last speeches—absolutely woozy & out of his mind. He's completely lost it. This lunatic has the nuclear code!

That's the argument, yes, but don't you think that there's 2 other things to consider: 1, journalistic integrity + the public right to know the truth and 2, more ads wld be sold from breakthru story.

I believe there's a limited amount of journalistic integrity out there and the bit that exists is largely in independent media - and they tend to not get invites. A breakthru story will sell some ads, but will hurt their longterm earnings by showing a willingness to challenge authority.

Go back and find transcripts from 2015 or earlier. The contrast is STARK. Yes, he’s always been an idiot, but now he’s an idiot whose brain is shrinking at an alarming rate.

⬆️⬆️ THIS ⬆️⬆️ Media seems to give him a pass on obvious dementia impairment because he always said stupid, outrageous things. He now repeats the same canned phrases, has decreased his vocabulary and any filter he had in the past is gone. Disturbed sleep patterns is also a sign.

the most notable things about the transcripts back then was HOW INCOHERENT Trump was. Like any of the other Republicans, they may be total scumbags, some may even have been worse than Trump, but they speak in coherent sentences. And then there is Trump.

I read the entire transcript. Trump kept repeating the same things over and over. It reminds me of my 86 year old MIL who repeats the same thing multiple times during a single phone call Trump seems delusional about his popularity. I wonder if it's bluster or if he truly believes the polls are fake

Yes, Donald Trump has *always* been stupid and narcissistic, but in recordings from only a few years ago, he speaks with an energy that has been replaced by lethargic wheezing and lapses in concentration.

He’s gone downhill, but he still has that “used car salesman” quality down pat . . . he can still bloviate with conviction, whether it makes any sense or not & whether it’s on topic or not . . . that’s the “used car salesman” bullshit that people wrongly perceive as skill & competence . . . 😳

He is 80 years old and 150 pounds overweight with random sleeping. He is lucky to still be alive. Fetterman is just as bad. His brain 🧠 is broken.

It's similar to watching videos of GWB late in his presidency and comparing those to when he was governor or Texas. In the latter, he can actually string thoughts and sentences together and is a pretty decent orator!

He's been showing increasing neurological damage, specifically weaker muscles on his right (facial droop, weak leg).....I wouldn't be surprised if there was some damage from a stroke or something similar as well.

The interviewers trying to provide structure is a big part of the problem. They should simply point out directly to his face that he is lying or ranting. No fucking mercy or grace for this defiler.

He deserved to die penniless and shamed So sad that Muricans let him lie his way to the top and die leaving billions to his dirty rotten family He should be ashamed, but so should Americans be Forever, and ever. Amen (sic)

And all this was WITH three handlers (Natalie Harp, Susie Wiles, and Stephen Cheung) there to supervise, presumably to make sure this interview didn't go off the rails. 😬 #poli

..."When you look at the war and you ask me how long have you been, I said, why didn't you ask Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, how long have you been in various wars?" Time: I would have if I had the opportunity. Let's talk about Israel.

...."And in Iowa, I mean, it was—oil was $1.90. I mean, it was like almost nothing. We broke the $2 barriers. One station was $1.85. One was $1.95. One was $1.99, and it was coming down all over the country."

Can we just skip to the part where Aaron just gives us the cliff notes? I just can't even read what he says anymore and I have never been able to listen to him speak. He has always turned me off even back in the 80's. What a pathetic little white privileged moron. 🤯

Trump goes on an unprovoked ten minute rant about why he had to fix up the White House and then asks the interviewer “Why are you devoting all this time to the White House?” He never asked him about the White House. He asked about the Kennedy Center.

I don't know how they do it. He's just a mess. He said "I just got a tariff from Lindsey Graham." He said "I'm talking about car companies. Pfizer, Merck, Lilly." He said Xi was at the White House with Obama "25 years ago" (2001). The man's brain is cornmeal mush.

he has always been bad for the U.S. he has never been fit to hold the office of president. he has always been a national security risk. he has always favored the needs of the destructively too rich over everyone else. he is incapable of actual governing. he is an embarrassment to humanity.

I read it and had to go and have a lie down in a darkened room afterwards. It's gibberish delivered in a torrent of nonsense and bullshit and, sadly, I could hear his nasal drone while I read it. He's clearly cognitively impaired and that was from a disturbingly low base. Utter moron.

I remember watching an episode where they went into a room to work on a project. Looks like the room might have been an unofficial storage room and it was dusty dirty. A couple people complained about it. Makes me wonder how filthy Mar-A-Lago is for all of those rich people.

I'm in the middle of reading it. Incredible! He needs to be removed immediately. For those wondering why the Iran war is still going, Trump said "Only because I wanted to go further." War of choice, still going because Trump just chooses to.

It's a long read, but worth it to see how nuts Trump is. MAGA cultists, as usual, will see nothing wrong with what he says. Sane people will be like WTF!

I read it- every individual who has continued to insist that he is competent needs to read it - if they still insist that he is mentally stable I would question their judgement. Congress needs to take action and stop pretending that he is competent.

There have been repeated reports that Prime Minister Netanyahu was warned prior to Oct. 7 about the possibility of an attack. I heard that today for the first time. You have access to the highest intelligence. I don't—I can't imagine this. You mean that he knew about... 🤷‍♀️

War is Peace - 1984 from the transcript: How can the president of peace be calling for the annihilation of an entire people? Because by annihilating Iran, we've created peace in the world.

Anyone who has ever dealt with a relative with dementia understands this. Trump is in the end part of the paranoid/psycho stage and he's about to slide into the "needs full time care" cabbage stage.

Anyone who reads that and hadn't already felt that he's an evil, demented narcissist that only cares about money and inflating his own ego will surely realise that's who he is. He has to be removed.

No critical thinking... Spouts the same messaging ad infinitum no matter what the question is.... And people questioned Biden's competence???!!! I only like High IQ people for President...

"while the interviewers do their best to provide structure to his random brain firings" Pretty good definition of sanewashing. It's been going on for nearly a decade now.

'Journalists', basically: "Your Magnificentness, we know you are incapable of actually answering a question, so would you pretty please say something that we can manufacture into a glowing, flattering story?"

He couldn't even remember that they'd talked at length about Venezuela. But boy howdy does he have Biden and Obama foremost in whatever mind he has left! 11 mentions of Biden, 6 for Obama (with full name twice!). Not surprisingly Trump (in the third person) does get a lot of mention too: 9 times.

This is no different than every speech and gaggle. They just typed it up. The interviewer doesn’t push back and barely follows up. They think by letting him ramble they are proving something but it’s the same old story - we know he’s incoherent. Confront his lies in real time. That would be news.

At the very least they should follow up on all the non-sequiturs & missing antecedents. “Mr President, you said “He wrote bad stories,” but we weren’t talking about an individual. Who’s the ‘he’ in this sentence I’m reading back to you?”

I would like a follow up of the stupid shit - what do you mean 100 million people watched the midterm convention? Where did you get that number? Does he have a made up answer or will he squirm? What about asking about his son’s wedding? His relationship with Natalie?

This is how Donald Trump has been doing interviews his entire life. Sure, it is much worse today because he is now an 80-year-old moron, and he is having a difficult time spewing lies as fast as he needs to. This isn't dementia; this is an 80-year-old moron giving an interview.

He is unable to cogently discuss any issue of public import, and this has been true at least since 2015. That’s an amazing thing to be true about a POTUS. After all the explanations are done, I still can’t understand why this fact isn’t the baseline understanding communicated by the press.

Canadian here. I see some comments critical of TIME. I respect what they tried to do with this piece. Voters: if you can see what's happening here, vote wisely. Every politician/donor who has failed to take action is culpable.
