Paxton rally tonight vs Talarico rally tonight Paxton:

We are ALL that kind of senior in the end. It's easier to embrace this shit. Plus, I just learned about this parasite that lives on our faces after the age of 40 and I love that for us. It's something we can all bond over.

And it's a dead heat. It's CRAZY how much work and enthusiasm is required to overcome all the Texans who don't read the news, don't get involved, and couldn't care less about what's going on but just vote R up and down the ballot.

Wild. A few years ago, if you had showed me clips of two candidate rallies, one of which was people dancing to the Village People and the other was a clean-cut candidate in front of a Texas flag and bunch of teenagers in white, I'd've guessed the parties the other way.

My kid said the difference between the 2 rallies is that Paxton rally voters won't live past the election to see what they caused. I replied it doesn't appear that they will even make it to the end of that song.

How do the idiots at the Paxton rally not realize there's only 14 people there and they are part of a cult? Rhetorical question. But, geez. I think I'd look around and be like, why isn't there any one here? Such Idiots.

It's like the Facebook crowd (gullible boomers) vs the Bluesky crowd (the rest of us). 😄

As an ol’ fart of a boomer, I know which one I’d be at if I were in TX right now … I want the energy of that crowd of young hopeful voters who are going to eat Paxton for lunch come November 3 .

Because it's one of the few songs where the rights-owners haven't explicitly revoked permission to play it at Trump rallies.

Looks like the nursing home being entertained by really sad CNA’s. To think these poor people have no heart or soul and think corruption and affairs are ok in their Southern Baptist Propaganda Offices.

Talarico is DONE. Paxton just ran an ad showing him wearing a Covid mask. However, I was thinking the philanderer already had the red-meat MAGA faithful locked up. Perhaps he knows he is even losing that (what once was a) crowd.

Oh come on. I still see people in masks in TX. No one gets harassed for it, that I can tell. Considering how measles & flu are taking off, masking isn't a bad idea. If Talarico wore a mask 6 years ago, he was smart. Better safe than sorry, and it's not hard ot wear a mask!

Perhaps you don’t understand the joke I was trying to make. Fear mongering about masks carries no weight today, at least with the majority of people I see.

Great! But remember numbers at a rally don’t mean that there aren’t people ashamed to show support for the policies of hate but who happily vote for them in the secrecy of the voting booth. We saw that in ‘24

There are clapping because they want to continue funding Ken Paxton's globe-trotting, which cost them over $24,000 a month, compared to the $7,400 a month cost when Abbott was Attorney General. As a Senator, Paxton could make them pay far more.

The Village People so destroyed their brand by going along with this. Their excuse: "music is to be performed without regard to politics". That's exactly wrong. Much of the history of music is inexorably tied to politics.

Aren’t they divided on this. Most original band members are against one original member (who has trademark rights and is touring with new band members) changed his mind to allow it. The reason; money.

Don't use the machines ask for a paper ballot. If you can vote by mail do it but drop it off at your local registrars office and ask for a receipt. If you have it available use ballot tracking. It will give you the process your ballot is currently in and tell you when it is counted.

that is the Blue Bonnet Palace in Selma, it’s kind of a San Antonio suburb with a renowned police force which hands out tickets for one mile over the speed limit & Darrell Issa was appearing with him, the criminals bus tour along the 35

Hey, who are you to speak for the seniors? 🤣 My grandmother was in a senior living center. One of her last acts before she passed was to vote for Beto.

it is nice they had an event with seniors at the senior's citizen home. did they have bingo afterwards? of course Paxton would likely just steal all the winnings afterwards so maybe not.

The earth is flat. There is no such thing as climate change. Trump and Paxton are good white men. The song YMCA is about hetero dudes playing sports at a gym. To racist fools, all the above are true.

Absolutely pathetic. Maybe it’s just me but it looks like Paxton’s campaign has trawled aged care facilities and offered residents a day out without explaining what the ‘day out’ actually entails.

I'm 62, and I remember when that song hit the airwaves for the first time. So, yeah, I did all my dancing to that years ago, and never wanted to revisit it again...

I'm old like these poor bastards. I sure as shit don't do that. I drink bourbon, bike my ass off, have a Stitch Fix account, still try to shoot hoops, and plan to one day do a karaoke on a cruise ship to "Kitty" from The Presidents of the United States of America

Whoa, there pawdner... Village People lead singer Victor Willis, the has repeatedly claimed YMCA was NEVER a gay anthem. And he's a cop, so I'd believe him.

Whoa...I saw them at a GAY bar before they became popular, in San Fran...and the gay guy that took me there said they were HUGE in the gay community at the time. And which "cop" was he? The first or the second? There were 2.

Maga still hasn't figured out thats a gay anthem. Clutch my pearls.

I'm thinking they have no clue? "Jacques Morali drew his inspiration for the leather biker character in the Village People from the gay BDSM leather bar and sex club dress code at the Mineshaft, in Greenwich Village."

The story goes that the French gay producers of the Village People, Jacques Morali and Henri Belolo : Saw the "Indian" in the Village People walking down a New York street and followed him into The Anvil, which was a "hyper-masculine gay BDSM and after-hours sex club"

It looks like they bussed in a half a bus load of people from an elder care facility who were thrilled to go for an outing and didn't have a clue where they were going.

Yeah, Trump’s rallies were kinda empty in 2024 too. Just get the fuck out there and vote. Wife and I are going tomorrow at our local polling place in Ohio.

THE HEROS ARE COMING!! Everyone’s Been waiting for someone to come in And Stop this!!! WELL ALL OF YOU ARE UP!! GRAP YOUR CAPES AND GO VOTE!! LAST LINE OF DEFENSE!! Only one WE GOT!

Do you remember the one where he just straight up checked out for a looooooong time, enjoying the music? No one who voted for him is capable of taking seriously their responsibility as a citizen.

The Paxton rally looks exactly like my mother’s senior center crowd doing chair aerobics. Then they “walk” around the room while still seated in their wheelchairs, which my mom calls “coot scooting.”

I remain optimistic, but I also remember all too well how great the DNC convention was in 2024 compared to the lame-ass RNC convention.

Yes but you could feel it in the air and on social media that ppl weren't really feeling Kamala. The vibe is different. This feel like his first mid term lost and his lost to Biden. Its gonna be close but I think the house is gone and they Senate is seriously in play.

HAHA! I am old enough to remember TV shows that had "audience applause meters" and the participant who got the highest reading on the meter was the winner. Kind of like the Lumen field decibel meter that measures ground real-time crowd noise levels during Seahawk games.

They're having fun. While Trump's rallies are Evangelical Tent Services spewing Fire and Brimstone w/o an ounce of truth. You can bet that it's exactly the same with Paxton. Good luck Talarico! ✊✊ Remind Texas that the flag is Red, White and Blue. Not White and Red.

It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A. It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A. They have everything for young men to enjoy You can hang out with all the boys It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A. It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A. You can get yourself clean, you can have a good meal You can do whatever you feel

MAGA is constantly doing YMCA at every event, and I've realized that it serves kind of a "Wheels on the Bus" function. It's entertainment for toddlers. If I kept going to rallies and they kept asking me to do YMCA choreo, I would start to think, "Wait. Do you...do you think I'm stupid?"
