The tragedy of Biden's presidency is not its lack of success, but how little its success was recognized. The claim Democrats don't have a policy program is false. Finishing the projects Biden began, working with Bernie Sanders and others, should be central to the project of the next president.

Hear me out. Bidenomics was working and we should go back to that.

Oh did Seth Meyers re-start the failed "Wrong Take" segment from way back when? Is this a pitch? Seriously. bsky.app/profile/sara...

Irrelevant. Mafia states elections aren't real. "That Biden was a placeholder president, a stop gap to streamline an aspiring autocracy into an entrenched one, was obvious by mid-2021. The first, rather large clue was the lack of urgency toward sedition." sarahkendzior.substack.com/p/behold-a-p...

One of the great "successes" of the Biden administration: An ongoing genocide that cost the lives of possibly 70,000 children. bsky.app/profile/paul...

Paul Eric@pauleric70.bsky.social

Trauma surgeon Dr. Feroze Sidhwa, who volunteered in Gaza, told CNN: "The official number is 20,000 children killed. By my estimate, it's closer to 70,000. Doctors are supposed to bear witness to crimes - especially when we're funding them. International journalists are

Oooo found one of the "GENOCIDE JOE" dipshits. Is he President of Israel? What could Biden have actually done to prevent Bibi from razing Gaza? Did you suck you little thumb and pout and not vote in 2024, somehow thinking Trump would be better?

I watched a number of red states take IIJA money & elected officials who voted against it, grinning like assholes holding a shovel at ground breaking ceremonies. Biden is a good man, and was a great president in my lifetime

First we have to shore up our democracy, which currently is under a bus. Every 'democratic institution," from Congress to SCOTUS, has failed to defend the Constitution. Until that changes, nothing changes.

Biden did a credible job stocking the china shop with nice things. But did virtually nothing to prevent a bull from entering the china shop, and when the beast did enter, politely said “welcome home”

The problem with Bidenomics is that it's an incentive based framework, ie incentivizing industry to safeguard affordability for average workers. And in that respect, it failed miserably. You can't trust private industry to safeguard affordability. We need a more muscular Bernie model for that.

The tragedy of Biden’s presidency is its inability and disinterest to prosecute the mobster criminals currently running the U.S. government into the ground.

🎯 His presidency was a catastrophic failure in that metric alone. A complete abdication of duty and responsibility. It's unforgivable, and will result in millions of deaths worldwide by 2030.

Democrats indicted Trump and thousands of his co-conspirators. Republicans are now in power and Trump is not in jail because of the lies you anti-Democrat activists incessantly spread about us Democrats.

Anti dem activist? You ok, buddy? I campaigned for Biden and Kamala. He failed miserably by not removing garland and putting someone else in like Sally Yates as AG.

Maybe if Garland hadn’t waited 2 fucking years to appoint Jack Smith, Trump wouldn’t have been able to run the clock out. Garland was either incompetent or in on it. Pick one

No, the true tragedy are voters who think that the justice system is like Law and Order where the criminals are convicted in like half an hour. Real justice against high level crime bosses takes years. Years we were robbed of because we voted the crime boss back into office.

Amen to that. Especially in regards to this do nothing Congress (which is probably a good thing). The Biden administration did huge things, which hardly anyone in the public was aware of.

The project for Ds is to reform everything so that this chaotic nonsense can never happen again. The executive branch must be neutered. SCOTUS must be overhauled. Agencies must be rebuilt (removed from executive branch control). Every corrupt actor who benefited from Trump needs to be punished.

Yes! Biden's anti-trust enforcers held Big Tech and American corporations and Wall Street accountable and blocked illegal mergers for the first time in 40 some years. And they didn't even talk about it. Populist and smart, it would have won the election for Harris.

Biden neglected the single most important thing that we put him into office to do: ensure that Trump or someone like him would never happen again. Instead, he went back to "business as usual" and completely forgot that Trump and Co. TRIED TO OVERTHROW THE GOVERNMENT.

He should've been foaming at the mouth and pursuing everyone and everything that allowed Jan 6 to happen. It was an existential threat to this country. He largely ignored it, and slow-walked any investigation into it. This was the core of why he was unpopular. Gaza was just the cherry on top.

If J6 doesn't happen or if he brought the hammer down on the insurrectionists, we wouldn't be in this mess and he would be remembered far more fondly. But people consider him a failure because he failed to hold Trump or anyone else accountable for an attempted coup.

my favorite policy was when he followed through with prosecuting the fascist instead of handing back the keys to the white house

The tragedy of Biden's presidency is precisely its lack of success. Biden got some big things done, though little of it ended up being permanent and much expired even before the end of his term. Biden came up short of improving the material lives of too many people, which is why we have trump again.

I'm a huge fan of Joe Biden's work in the aftermath of a devastating pandemic and a destructive previous president. He achieved far more than anyone had a right to expect. I'm a huge critic of Biden's denial of people's ongoing economic pain, and breaking his promise not to run again.

Sorry, I have to disagree, not least because I can't figure out what you're trying to claim. And even if you could adequately explain your claim, I don't think it would be persuasive. Let's leave it at that.

The time for restoration is over. We need bold new policies. Maybe they will incorporate some of the old, but we need a bigger vision. The ACA was good, but we need to move to Medicare for All. Otherwise we will incubate a worse Trump and fail to stomp out fascism. We need a new FDR!!!

lol, their own senator was doing a curtsy as she killed raising the minimum wage. You can pretend we don’t know why they were so unpopular, but it really is just pretend. And this is all before we get to Israel…

exactly. And Biden failed on his student loan forgiveness which upset many people, not to mention all the people who had debts without a college degree who never got addressed. And ICE expanded during Biden and also…he removed asylum for LGBT immigrants during Pride Month

immigrationequality.orgPresident Biden Marks Pride Month With Executive Action That Will Send Queer Refugees Back to Brutal Violence - Immigration EqualityNew York, NY (June 5, 2024) — Yesterday, President Biden issued a proclamation and rule that will effectively shut down the border to asylum seekers when the number of border encounters reaches 2,500 ...

some people here are acting like the press was too cruel to Biden. But in fact they normalized him giving less bailouts to cope with the pandemic than Trump did, letting Child Tax credit expire, not raising min wage, letting Medicaid coverage expire and expanding ICE and police

🇨🇦🇺🇸So very true Americans tend to forget the stability that Biden offered-he brought all of us NATO partners back together & he deserves high praise for the job he did in such a short time. Only flaw? The border but he did deport thousands too— Democrats need to know how to advertise themselves.

I Wrote to THEN SECRETARY PETE B: YOU NEED TO DO THE BROADWAY SHOW VERSION of the INFRASTRUCTURE BILL GO TOWN TO TOWN show how the money is fixing roads & highways... instead he and hubby did a People piece on family!! SO SWEET!

There's no going back. Trump's seen to that, by damaging or outright destroying so much of our integrity vis-a-vis trade and diplomacy. It'll take years to get back to the point where we can start - years to restore the world's faith in our bond rating, our treaty signatures, our handshakes.

The MSM was out for him because he wasn’t going to generate the clicks and views Shitler did. I will always appreciate Joe for giving us the normalcy we needed, but the admin was not focused enough on preventing this from happening again. Joe put more faith in the American people than we deserved.

The best president of my lifetime besides Carter, and I'm 68. They both made decisions I disagreed with in foreign policy, but were still the best for our people.

Biden wasn’t brilliant, but he was orthodox and a multilateralist. He played it safe on the economy because he knew it was too important to screw up with fringe economic policies. The deficit, inflation and interest rates would likely be lower under Harris.

In 2020 Michael Dukakis could've beaten Trump. Biden took the spot from Bernie or Liz Warren knowing there was a good chance he couldn't maintain his faculties to get a second term.

With all due respect, because I imagine you’re a good person, but Fuck Joe Biden. That guy was always a racist piece of shit. He helped Israel commit genocide and then ushered in Trump by running for re-election even though his brain was mush. I will celebrate when that goldfish gets flushed.

Peace and prosperity allow people to turn their attention to the culture wars that the GOP thrives on. Once again Democrats will repair our nation, so people will begin listening to Republicans again.

If the DNC wasn't corrupt biden may be in his 2nd term. If the DNC wasn't corrupt Bernie would have beaten trump, but the DNC tells thier voters who to vote for. The DNC should have had a primary when they decided to kick out biden.

It's simple, in the current multimedia universe, only the loudest, the most dishonest and hateful voices are completely crowding out the more honest, insightful, informing, truthful voices we need to make the right decisions.

Gonna be really hard to pivot back to the Biden agenda after 4 years of going in the opposite direction. May need something more definitive or novel. Also Bernie will be 87 at the start of the next administration…he will need to pass the torch at some point.

The press treated Biden and Harris horribly almost from the instant they were elected. The lies and the slanting and the sanewashing of Trump's ravings and Jake f*cking Tapper's awful book were fatal, and the press should be goddamn ashamed.

I will die on the hill that he was more progressive than Obama. Even after his loss I genuinely wasnt sure in 2020 if US could get out of the hole trump dug. but in those 4 yrs dems managed to patch up most of that hole. Then voters decided to lose brain cells, and dig the hole again!

Interesting, I think the tragedy was the party lying to the public about his competency to run again despite it being well known to insiders as far back as September 2021 and all through 2023. Could have had a primary and kept Trump out of office with a candidate people supported.

President Joe Biden was an excellent president. Historians will be praising him and writing books about how his presidency achieved more in four years than any other administration. It infuriates me when I hear Jake Tapper and Joe Scarborough bad mouthing Biden. They are the weaker ones and losers.

Complete and abject failure despite any number of bulleted lists of tax breaks and money to cops you might want to put up. He put us in a worse place, probably permanently, by guaranteeing Trumps return.

The media crushed him and seemed to actively diminish his accomplishments. He did try to get the word out but it was almost conspiratorial. His only real failure was trusting in the system and the decency of people. Resulted in a lot of people not paying the price for corruption they should have.

When Obama entered office, he decided 'Return to Normal; don't be vindictive!' When Biden entered office, he decided 'Don't be political. Return to Normal!' Both were honorable gentlemen. The Right thought the Left were PUSSIES! So...

Well who needs Republicans when a sizeable portion of shitlibs didn't vote in 2024 because they thought that Biden somehow could have done anything to stop the criminal Bibi from bombing Gaza daily. Come on all you 'ABANDON HARRIS' fuckheads out there. Do your worst

It wasn't good enough for thousands of young people unfortunately. It appears anything less than perfect is not good enough for younger people. THIS is exactly how we got stuck with Trump again..how you like your choice now¿?????

I'm torn. Yeah, he actually was a good steward of the country domestically in terms of prioritizing employment and getting us to a soft landing post Covid relative to the rest of the world. Those are facts. But Israel backing and whistling past the graveyard with MAGA can't be forgotten.

I think we can admit that the organized legacy media operations were almost all a useless organ of Democracy in the Trump era and of no real help to the Biden WH but... The Biden WH also had obvious blindspots about comms in the 21st Century. An honest assessment at this point is necessary.

The post Bush/Cheney "autopsy" was talked about for awhile after Obama's first term but the GOP as a whole rejected those findings and doubled down on what they were already doing and it led us here. Biden is not the train wreck of caricature but there were insane missteps OBVIOUS at the time.

All of Dem leadership thinking the election of Biden was alone enough to settle things down or worse return to 2015 was wish casting. It was time for swift and far reaching policy in regards to safeguarding the nation from Fascists and they balked fearing being accused of destroying "norms".

The Biden administration highlighted probably the biggest failing of the Democratic Party. They can't message for shit. Trump and the Republicans will spike the football in celebration of killing off an entire zip code's worth of people, but Dems can't talk about infrastructure preservation.

Biden tried and did save us (economy and world reputation) And then millions of citizens, with anger and racism in their hearts....voted that MFer back into office. 🍊💩 is a petty, little man.

The tragedy is that nothing he did mattered, his legacy entirely and instantly burnt to ash, because he couldn't do the one damn thing that NEEDED to be done. A good man who coukdnt measure up when needed.

Probably not the best idea, but one I might pay money to see (maybe after the midterms): A faux announcement from Dark Brandon that he intends to run for a second term, edited in a way that makes him look way more vital than the Clown Prince.

Hahahahaha. What a terrible fucking message. Lets go back to that thing people hated. There were good programs under Biden but those were progressive policies. So it's time for the real deal. AOC in 2028. Time to let the establishment go.

I'd like to imagine an alternate reality where he announced his intention not to run for a second term after the 2022 midterms. I feel sorry for him and his legacy. He could of been a great President.
