Inside the Department of War are two wolves: "We've shut down the Colleges of War because book learnings are woke, gay, and irrelevant to war fighting." "How come no one told us the Strait is important, there are different kinds of Kurds, Iran is big, and air power historically doesn't win wars?"

Correction: the Department of Defense. Not the "Department of War". trump's executive re-branding order on 9-5-25, does not make it official or legal. Only Congress can do that. Don't comply in advance. Not even to their attempts to change names.

We are being led by ignorant, weak, ego driven boys. They believe they know all, but none of them are qualified for the jobs they got for kissing the emperor's ass. DEI and knowledge expose their weakness as does reality for their actions when it slaps them in the face.

Since the iran Iraq war in the 80s, when eventually tankers were accompanied by warships from western countries. There were no drones and anti so missiles to technically advanced for Iran at the time

The tech changes, but the problem remains. You would have thought a competent US military would have warned about it and had a plan for it. Clearly not, institutional rot is well advanced.

Over 20 years ago the US military did a war game where they simulated an invasion of Iran and the guy leading the Iranian forces refused to use trad tactics and as a result wrecked the invaders. The US military reset the game and forced the guy in charge of Iran to use trad tactids and lose.

US Military Good at: large mechanised deployment with air superiority. Very bad at: Guerrilla engagements. Very bad at: Exit strategy. Can't see this going well for the USA.

Same. When the most powerful military in world history is unable to send in ground troops, unable to recruit allies, and has their entire navy hundreds of miles out in the open ocean for fear of being destroyed, it's a very bad look. We have never looked so weak.

3rd generation warfare. Great for beating up Imperial Japan and holding the Fulda Gap, terrible for any conflict of the 21st century. And something the US military refuses to address in wargames because it would inconvenience defence contractors.

Prof Norman Dixon wrote the seminal work on the psychology of military incompetence. He found a consistent pattern of the mindset of incompetent Generals. Although not a General, Mr Hegseth measures against a few of the traits, but relevant to this discussion, No 2 is "Anti-intellectualism" ....

Turns out G.I.Gins experience as Faux News Host didn’t make him qualified for the job. These are the most unqualified and inept people leading us into doom. Every Empire falls and these fuckers single handily caused it!!!

Who would have thought that the Very Serious geniuses who came up with the name "Operation Epic Fury" would turn out to not actually be very smart

"there are different kinds of Kurds?" Echoes of Paul Wolfowitz saying, "There’s been none of the record in Iraq of ethnic militias fighting one another that produced so much bloodshed and permanent scars in Bosnia along with the requirement for large policing forces to separate those militias. "

Why bomb Kharg? It’s full of oil refineries. Bombing it’s going to push oil prices even higher. Capturing it made sense but I can’t see the point in bombing it.

What's happening to Trump is what happened to Boris Johnson. Competent, good quality people shear away, they loathe him, so he's stuck with the dregs and the low quality sycophants.

Not really, Bojo CHOSE the muck & created more! Good people cld see what a chancer Johnson was, he swivelled ruthlessly over Brexit, for purely selfish reasons (he wanted to be PM), many from previous cabinets, those who refused to shelve their principes, walked away. They saw straight through him.

Nadine Dorries was a classic example. She's the Kristi Noem of the UK under Johnson. Utterly incompetent, would never have got a look in under a decent PM, but because she gazed adoringly at him continually (and maybe more) she was given a cabinet role.

And inside the White House is an NPD wolf who was warned about the Iranians closing the straight but as NPDs often do, thought he knew more than the experts, and decided it wouldn't happen because he didn't want it to happen. bsky.app/profile/did:...

Here's a paywall free version of the WSJ article that just hit a few minutes ago: "Trump Knew the Risk of Iran Blocking the Straight of Hormuz. He Still Went to War." archive.ph/202603140149...

Well, we have something new for a future Democratic Congress to investigate in addition to DOGE, ICE, politicization of the Justice department, self dealing for Trump and family members, and paid-for pardons

Interesting that there is a recent movie and book about the benefits of listening to academics during a war. Movie: Pressure. Book: Book and Dagger: How Librarians and Scholars Became the Unlikely Spies of WWII.

MAGA morons running a country and following a convicted felon pedophile. The US gave new meaning to FUBAR. Trump is the least of your worries, it’s his constituents

Yes, I've heard history doesn’t repeat itself but it rhymes. This is why young ppl should shadow older, wiser people, but Chump-stein did it backwards. Although a criminal listens to noone but themself. Stop the war, NOW! and let's get back to the the dead-beats in the Epstein files. Impeach asap.

"The strait"? How come? They never heard of the thing. He was calling it "Straits". Like DireStraits or something something.

I think they’re more like llamas with big teeth, small genitals, tiny brain pans, and big egos. “it is as vigilant, wild, and timid…” Hegseth’s position needs to be renamed the Secretary of the Department of Stoopid.

It’s funny, because he stresses logistics and accurate intel gathering over hopium so much—sure, the details have changed, but the importance of being able to repair your vehicles and not run out of ammo—and not getting ambushed— hasn’t changed since horse-drawn chariots and bowmen!

See, wokeness is what made the US WEAK. If Trump had won 2020, the US would still be powerful, but 2024 was technically the bear's cage for making the other authoritarian powers more stronger even though Trump reclaim the win(not by stealing, morons).

it is a new era

first day of war college: ALRIGHT! LISTEN UP YOU PUKESTAINS! OUR JOB IS TO BLOW SHIT UP AND MAKE SURE IT STAYS BLOWED UP. THERE ARE TWO THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT STRATEGY. ONE, "KNOWING YOUR ENEMY" IS TOTALLY HOMO. TWO: SUN TZU WAS A WOKE LITTLE CUCK. NOW TAKE OUT YOUR BOOKS, AND BURN THEM.

Have any of these clowns ever heard of Admiral Alfred Mahan and The Influence of Sea Power upon History. If they had they would have know the Hormuz Straight was one of the most important choke points on the globe. If it is not open in the next month the impact on global economy will be catastrophic

It‘s the Hegseth way of performing or better pretending military leadership and management in the USA! We cannot expect better from these gym warriors! US allies will suffer and US big oil is literally printing dirty money based on the Trump induced speculation!
