gaming is only books if the game has a defined ending and then you sit back and think about it

Gaming doesn’t count as screen time. Gaming is books. Unless it’s on your phone - that is screen time. Movies are books unless they are Marvel, who produce screen time. Television is screen time.

It's screentime if you plan your build, but it's books if you think about the next season pass before it's released. We checked, and if the season pass is released, it's screentime. But before it's released, it's books. So we sell season pass pre-orders.

gaming is eustress mental health hobby if it has no end but you manage lots of numbers & lots of little guys in it. gaming is non-productive capital labor if it has no end, you manage lots of numbers & lots of little guys in it, and the guys are tied to monthly micro transactions.

Screen time. Books aren't about being creatively stimulating, they're about spending time processing someone else's perspective on the world.

Kind of a spoiler so I’ll try to be vague, but to be honest it kind of has several soft endings, where the game kind of says “if you wanted to stop now we wouldn’t blame you” But the community is STILL trying to figure some stuff out, so I wouldn’t say it really has an ending, no.

Is The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy books? I’m torn on whether to think of it as having a hundred endings, one ending, or zero endings.

thinking about games I've seen friends play recently; Inscryption is books but despite having an end credits crawl, Subnautica is screen time. ditto Minecraft. Baldur's Gate is TTRPG, which is books, mostly.
