I'm really glad we have the equivalent of a Facebook boomer who's entire knowledge of medicine and science comes exclusiveky from quirky le may mays posted on their wall running the health department of this country. Fucking fantastic.

"User was put on probation for this post" on the Best possible reply. Holy shit for referente My man's LDL is 293. Want to keep that shit under 100. Fuck that dude is going to give himself vascular disease.

I guess. The trouble is it takes too long to kill you which gives these people a false sense of security. Currently waiting for my father to die is both cathartic and yet sadly amusing in the grand scheme of things.

it's legit my favorite part in the video. his doctor says "oh yeah your cholesterol is an emergency, we need to get you on a high dose of lipiror now or you will die"

If he is legit, RFK also said he’s taking a shit ton of vitamins, so many he couldn’t even name what his doctor was tossing at him. So it doesn’t sound like something any average person would be able to achieve.

I made this point to a friend, but at least in the UK medicine has moved on so much in terms of diet. It's absolutely true that as recent as a decade ago if you had weight problems your GP would put you on a low fat diet and tell you eat low fat alternatives (which are packed with sugar).

These days you will likely be booked in with a dietitian, you'll do a food diary for a fortnight, they'll probably get you provide stool and urine samples. If you're lucky you'll get an allergen test, some fasting blood tests... there's so much they will look into these days.

thats pretty normal for the carnivore diet actually, but here's the interesting part, it doesn't actually seem to cause issues in the carnivore diet for whatever reason. I've been watching a specific channel about that in regards to research. Its very interesting.

ye obviously, wouldn't recommend it anyone yet without a massive disclaimer, but this is the sorta of thing that can lead to new interesting studies. Probably indicates that LDL needs to be combined with something else to cause plague, whatever that may be.

Wait wait there’s a serious point here I just noticed - RFK has all the money in the world to treat whatever heart condition he develops but the people he’s conning don’t. He’s made himself into one of the dots on the plane diagram

With his medical history, he should realize that he's courting trouble. Around 2000 he reported feeling discomfort for "several hours a day" due to his heart, on a regular basis -- and he was only in his mid-40s. I'm not that kind of doctor, but it sounds concerning to me.

Eddy Burback is a saint for this. As an aside, I simply cannot imagine eating that much meat. Like, I love a good steak and getting a local Mexican joints burrito is amazing. But if I eat that kind of heaviness two days in a row I feel like shit. My body needs a salad or wrap to balance shit out.

Relate. I can't have much meat or i feel sluggish and bloated. One of the worst things about road travel in the USA is most of the country thinks a meal must include meat and dairy or it won't be filling.

Once you realize that RFKjr is afraid he can’t die, he makes more sense. The best men in his world—dad, uncle, cousin—died publically, became legends. He tried to kill himself with drugs, food, risky behaviors. Nothing works. He’s terrified. Reveres death. Will sacrifice all of us to death.

RFK is new to cheerlead carnivore. People have been doing it for decades. I think Owsley Stanley (audio engineer and dancer for the Grateful Dead) was one of first advocates for it. He ate carnivore for 50 years before dying in a car crash. It began with a hippies & cool cat leftists. 🤷‍♂️

I suppose the comments like "getting heart disease is actually good" are a variety of natural selection even if it doesn't actually select out like, me, with high lipoprotein(a) (strictly genetic LDL)

I appreciate the versions of deranged health advice that really harm the idiots who follow them and don't affect anyone else, as opposed to anti-vaxxers putting everyone else at risk too

Yes, it's a weird form of antifeminism. Eating plants is "passive" and "womanly", While eating meat is fundamentally active and masculine. Heard everything from "plants contain estrogen" to "being vegetarian sterilizes men". I Guess CHF is masculine too.

In the book of genesis, God was more pleased with Abel's sacrifice, which clearly means that God is a plant hating carnivore and this is obviously more important than any medical research that we've done since the canonization of the bible

I don't believe for a second that RFK actually commits to this diet. I'm sure he eats more meat than average but this vid shows pretty well how terrible it is to live like this.

Even with steroids it would fail. Carbs are essential to muscle growth and function RFK is pretty stupid so maybe he does, but most of the influencers touting these specialist diets don’t actually follow them. Its a grift top to bottom

RFK is for sure either lying about his diet or the "fermented foods" do a lot more heavy lifting than he lets on. Fermented foods include sourdough, any number of lightly pickled fresh vegetables, tempeh and even chocolate but funnily enough he still calls it a carnivore diet
