I think countries around the world should levy tariffs specifically on Tesla in response to US tariffs, as well as banning Twitter as a national security threat driving a wedge between our co-dictators may be the most effective thing they can do

We must Scream constitutional crisis together. Do not let them cause chaos and confusion. Remember we FAR outnumber them! Let’s do this to take back our country. Sign and share! Let’s show them how many there are of us ! We need to organize and start somewhere! sign.moveon.org/petitions/co...

100% yes. Please fight Evil. Please please, America begs you. There is such evil here. We need your help. What is happening isn't just evil, it's corrupt as fuck. Being nasty & vicious back against the specific source/origin of evil will help the world. Do it. Please. Please please please.

I don't know the existing tariff structure but I suspect China imposes more restrictions on imports. If Canada and Mexico have a tariff imbalance that should be corrected regardless of who is favored. I don't mind Trump raising a stink and threatening tariffs as negotiating tactics seeking balance.

Seriously it's really cute that you think this would make any difference to anything. He doesn't care about Tesla now he is the most powerful person in America and Trump is his willing idiot

On the subject of Tesla, the Trump tariffs are a gift to Elon Musk because they disproportionately hurt unionized automakers. GM+Ford have supply chains integrated between Canada (esp Ontario-- just across the Detroit River) +the USA. GM+Ford costs will go up. Tesla will benefit.

He’s already been using his Tesla stock to shore up Shitter. As he borrowed all $44bn, mainly from 2 Russian oligarchs & a Saudi, I’d be shitting myself now if I was him

The answer is before every Trump supporter. When their feelings are so fragile that they think someone else just wanting equal rights somehow violates THEIR rights. THEY are the problem, not us.

I rarely use Amazon, no hardship to drop them. Would not buy a Tesla anyway. On Facebook & Twitter/X but not looked Facebook at all for months & am now just on TwatterX to block accounts. Piss poor effort on my part to boycott stuff I barely use, but will give it a go.

You are right. The algorithm has made the place a toxic pile of ignorance and hate. It's ok, even good, to discuss, disagree and challenge. That is not what is there now. Deactivated my Twatter/X account.

He had a dubious site down in Baja that never came to fruition, he/jr/Ivanka were sued for fraud by those who had bought unbuilt condos. The Canadian skyscraper isn’t projected to be finished until the end of the year (Vancouver, BC).

I heard Tesla is introducing their updated Y model to the market. The Chinese market. China first. I thought it was “America First” but what do I know. And I’m surprised China isn’t worried about all the data Tesla is collecting knowing how connected they are to the US government.

Musk does not (and never has) believe he’s going to Mars. He talks a good talk. It was all part of his scam to appear as a visionary genius for NASA welfare, make himself indispensable with the defense program to gain power and hoard more wealth.

We could start doing that ourselves by referring to him as President Musk. Imagine if a reporter mistakenly called him that at some press conference with all those TV cameras around.

I think countries with Tesla facilities should confiscate the Tesla assets, and ban the company. Musk is a complicit oligarch with a terrorist bully Putin wannabe. People should treat Trump/Musk for what they are. Sanction Trump/Musk just like we have sanctioned Putin and his enabling oligarchs.

That's a great idea. Canada may retaliate with 100% tariffs on Tesla EVs as retaliation for Trump and his 25% tariffs on all Canadian imports. This is the start of a very big trade war!

What's your source on this? It would be very satisfying, but I'm having trouble believing a country would target one business owner like that. Happy to be proven wrong.

See below. Some important context. Freeland helped craft the international sanctions against Russian oligarchs after the invasion of Ukraine. So her suggesting they target American oligarchs is very much in keeping with her geopolitical philosophy over the past few decades.

I don’t have a source for OP, but during the last Trump administration smaller economies did often target tariffs against specific industries or companies to more efficiently negotiate out of the tariffs. It allows more personal leverage on politicians themselves instead of the larger economy (US)

Germany is part of the EU (single market). Therefore Germany cannot impose tariffs on its own. Only the EU can (for all 27 EU Members). Btw Germany is still governed by Social Democrats and Greens (But that is likely to change after elections later this month).
