Props to TO for not doing a BC. Would be nice to see Chow leverage that win to step on Doug's face a bit.

The simple answer is to bookmark some sites that have hand & human-crafted, in-depth guides. Lengthy, sometimes singular user-respecting pages that evoke the hardcover guidebooks & greatest gamefaqs txts of the past, not 300 word bullshit targeted at google trends. For a start; @rpgsite.net

Maybe this makes me a bad journalist but I’m coming around to the idea that we should just tell everyone the results once everything is counted the next day
Quick reminder: As of right now, the result of the election is locked in. Politicians don't "pull ahead" or "catch up." It's just the arbitrary way that the ballots are counted and reported.

There is no deal to be had with the US. They will lie shamelessly, and when the elections are over they'll pretend someone else made their promises. They've done it before, they will do it again. The word of the US is worthless. Surely we are not this stupid.
Canada-U.S. talks gain more momentum ahead of midterms: sources - Multiple government and industry sources close to trade discussions between Canada and U.S. tell CTV News there is considerable appetite from the White House to strike a deal with Canada.

"Where we have differences of opinion, we discuss those in private." The thing about this approach is that silence is taken as endorsement of their human rights abuses. It says "Canada doesn't have a problem with it, so we can keep doing it with no repercussions." And that's a Problem.

Missed this last week: Brendan Kennedy at the Star reported that iGaming, the government agency responsible for online gambling, secretly shelved a research study intended to track rates of problem gambling in Ontario when those rates were much higher than expected. www.thestar.com/gift-redeem?...
CBC: The number of problem gamblers in Ontario has spiked and gambling-related suicides have tripled since the expansion of private online casino games and sports betting in 2022. www.cbc.ca/news/investi...

Quite frankly, an insane thing for the U.S. gov to peddle. The page ends with “Americans decide America’s elections.” Right. So, where was that energy when Republican strategists from Michigan flew to Calgary to pitch voter software to Alberta separatists ahead of their referendum?
Just deeply embarrassing. The US Ambassador continues to insist that Canada is interfering in elections by saying things like "tariffs are bad" even after the State Dept met with Alberta separatists. @splawinski.bsky.social ca.usembassy.gov/fact-sheet-m...

I mean honestly if the answer is "announce the nationwide election results at noon eastern the following day" I'm actually fine with that
Can someone explain how federalists are supposed to address the complaint about election results from Quebec and Ontario deciding federal elections? They have more people. They're in an earlier time zone. Did you want your votes to be counted first? Count for more? What is it?
