Family, sport and politics in that order. Co-operation and solidarity is the only way forward.

There it is. We are finally here. Trump has formally announced his desire to cancel a U.S. election. We said he would do this, and now he has. It doesn't matter that he probably can't. Or that he'll lose in court. The point is that we've crossed a line with respect to American democracy.
Trump: "It has just been determined Democrats illegally searched for, & recruited, a man named Dan Sullivan ... Peltola should suffer the Legal & Political consequences for A FRAUD ON THE PUBLIC, and Dan Sullivan should be allowed to run without either Peltola or FAKE Dan Sullivan on the Ballot"

Trump's closing message for Republicans ahead of the midterms: Bigotry and bragging about how expensive food is at his private club. Democrats' closing message ahead of the midterms: Accountability, affordability, and shifting the balance of power towards working people. Vote accordingly.
Trump's affordability message: "You could even come to Mar-a-Lago. You'll be my guest. The problem is that for $5,000 the most you'll be able to buy is a hamburger and maybe a small dessert. I'm not even sure you could buy that! No, don't go there. It's not a good place if you're price conscious."

The BBC really needs to be called out for its double standards. Think of the fuss it made when Gary Lineker - a sports presenter - expressed a political opinion. Yet the BBC is happy for one of its main news presenters to peddle this right-wing nonsense in a highly partisan right-wing newspaper.
The problem with Justin Webb’s position at the BBC is not just his flagrant bias, or his writing for the Mail, or his audible prejudices, it’s that all those things make him embarrassingly bad at analysing politics. “Left = firebrand = too woke = trouble for Dems” is about his level

I remember Justin Webb saying on Today a few months ago that Trump can be ‘really funny’. I would love to be able to challenge Webb to repeat a single funny thing that Trump has said.
I think it doesn't reflect well on the BBC that one its leading presenters is allowed to write an 'analysis' for a highly partisan newspaper which includes lines like "Racial minorities, worshipped by white Democrats" www.dailymail.com/news/article...

This jerk right here is the first major American political figure of any party who simply refuses to accept the result of any election that his team lost. This attitude in a Presidents destroys the Constitution. It took the United States over 230 years to sink to this low.
Q: You'll respect the election results whatever happens? TRUMP: If they're honest elections (That's a no!)

Around half of the countries generally considered Middle Eastern or transcontinental Middle Eastern have five or fewer letters in their name. Four of the remaining countries are Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon and Israel.
JD Vance says of the Middle East that it's "a region of the world made up of countries whose name I couldn't even pronounce"

Oh ffs. MPs must stop romanticising this absolute horseshit. Brexiters promised a land of milk and honey and delivered contaminated water and broken biscuits. We don’t want it. And we mustn’t be tied to failure and lies just because politicians want to cover up the utter mess they’ve made.
