BioWare made games for people in an industry that often reduced them to less. I don’t think this business is interested in people anymore

Marie Claire actually left a prompt from an AI in one of their recent articles. While there’s still some great journalists and publications left, this is utterly shocking. No wonder I’m trying to pivot.

In a propaganda rant, former FSB head & paranoid Putin advisor Nikolai Patrushev called Estonia, Latvia, & Lithuania "Baltic mice" pulling at a "cat with nuclear claws". Here, kitty kitty.

I desire more in life than to be the “don’t summarise with AI”-guy on bluesky 😅 but reports like this keep coming in, so I’ll repeat ad nauseam, don’t summarise with ‘AI’! www.tue.nl/en/our-unive...

The fact that the Ontario government recommended AI summary systems with such obvious and potentially patient-harming flaws should give pause to any doctors (or their patients) making use of them.

This displays the stark arrogance of legacy media types. "I went to the right school and come from the right family, so my opinions MUST matter." That attitude is how you turn the most infamous newspaper in political journalism into a billionaire's vanity blog, and yourself into his PR agent.

oh, *that's* why this is going around again today

Every new right-wing publication is named The Daily Constitution and pays a dozen writers mid-six-figure salaries thanks to backing by the CEO of fascism. Every new left-wing publication is named Lazer Sword & pays fifty contributors $300 a month, funded by laid-off journalists donated buyout pay.

There's a good reason people in positions like this need to choose their words carefully. He's using "no quarter" because he thinks it means "we're being tough," but it's a real term and opponents will take a different meaning This pushes opponents to declare no quarter because we did it first

Hegseth: "We will keep pushing, keep advancing. No quarter, no mercy for our enemies." No quarter is the refusal to take prisoners and instead just execute everyone. It's been considered a war crime for over a century.

I sometimes worry that too many people think being a good critic means being a self-righteous dick about every little thing and I think far too many miss the point that you can't critique anything if you don't know how to love something.

the "left" broadly advocated for open access community owned gigabit fiber networks while the right coddled monopoly access to the detriment of progress and affordability for four decades

If this is what they do when they're out on the street with people pointing cameras at them, what do you think is happening inside the ICE prison camps that they keep denying Members of Congress access to?

I'll say again: we are oddly selective about the government services about which we will say, they operate at a loss. We say Amtrak and the post office "lose money" but we never say highways, the court system, the Pentagon, etc lose money

In other words, fears about "defunding the police" are overblown. What actually happens is ... police defund you.

At $20 million over budget, the Atlanta city government is preparing to make major cuts to services that people depend on. But over the past three years, they have channeled additional tens of millions towards #CopCity. They don't care about us—only about policing us. crimethinc.com/CopCity2025

Brownshirt ICE rolled up to my local Home Depot today and got the F-off treatment. Shoutout to this woman because this is exactly how it’s done. No badge, face covered = F*ck all the way off. 📌 It’s on us citizens to stand up for our vulnerable brothers and sisters.

The lack of algorithm on Bluesky tells me that we were fools to accept it elsewhere. We all now talk about how Musk uses it to suppress dissent on twitter, but he hardly invented it. Letting someone else set parameters for what you see is maybe the most poisonous thing that social media normalised.
