I hope that Brazil and other countries can get some alternatives to Meta because the power to misinform/propagandize that many people through algorithms needs to be checked. Maybe we'll see something from the Fediverse gain some traction. It'd be cool to see a Fediverse local marketplace app.

The first game was a blast back in the day! I think Eufloria is worth checking out if you like watching little seedlings fly around and fight other seedlings while growing plants.

ICYMI: Eufloria 2, the long awaited sequel to our 2009 indie game Eufloria is FINALLY on its way! โœจ #IndieGameDev #GameDev #Dev #Retro #IndieGames store.steampowered.com/app/4415060/...

Does anyone have any ideas for new game devs to build a community for their games with this BS going on? #gamedev #godot

with sloppy (but convincing enough) AI vibeclones on the rise, developers now face a future in which a steady stream of pre-release videos, demos, and playtestsโ€”the only reliable way to promote and build communityโ€”could be their gameโ€™s undoing

I stopped watching the OG Walking Dead series before it ended because it had this extremely pessimistic take on humanity that people are always the worst and will screw each other over during crises. From what I've seen in reality, more often than not, people step up and come together during crises

The "you will own nothing and be happy" BS is the end goal of the AI industry. Hopefully together we can stop these tyrants and achieve freedom from the whims of billionaires who control everything. It's crazy how people accept tyranny in economics but expect it to not lead to tyranny in politics.

Jan Willem Nijman@jwaaaap.com

ultimately the AI shit is about huge companies trying to wiggle their way and seek rent in places there was no rent before

@kenney.nl is an amazing human being that has provided the indie scene an invaluable amount of assets without the expectation of being paid. His efforts are important in an age where developers can be un-creative and ask a machine to create for them. Remember: keep making personal, beautiful games!

Don't let billionaires convince you slop is the future. They're used to managing & directing, not making things themselves. Of course they can't see the difference. They don't understand your love for the craft. Keep making personal, beautiful games. You've got my support ๐Ÿ’–

Appreciated some Godot features for this piece: 1. You can tweak the hell out of shadows. Treat them as part of the art style. 2. NoiseTexture is super versatile for prototypes / simple stuff. 3. Subtle SSS can give even simple graphics some extra "oomf". #GodotEngine #gamedev #indiedev

there is no such thing as "age verification." All "age verification" is actually "identity verification." You can coat it in glitter and "privacy-preserving" wrapping paper. But in the end, mandating age verification means mandating surveillance be built into software and hardware. Period.

Went out and volunteered with my DSA chapter for some yardwork for someone who couldn't do it themselves and then we went to support our local Starbucks United Workers who are on strike by holding signs with them to raise awareness. Pretty good day, tonight I might phonebank for Oliver Larkin.

Public banking is awesome because it cuts out private banks as middlemen that extract profit from public services. Imo it doesn't make sense for banking to be a for-profit endeavor unless those profits are used for public or account holders' benefit like with credit unions.

What if union membership tripled? It would deliver a 14.5% raise for the median worker. It would shift $1.2 trillion to workers annually. It would significantly narrow racial wage gaps. It would increase the number of people with health insurance. This is the power of economic democracy.
