People voted against Biden's economy to bring back a Trump Administration that had been utterly annihilated on January 6th. The Trojan-Horsed competence was gone after the Capitol. Slithering, grasping venality was the only input into the current West Wing and it shows.

Three moments broke Trump 2.0: 1) Kimmel and other attempted censorship after Charlie Kirk. Made public see the attack on speech. 2) Minnesota anti-ICE protests, Goode and Pretti killings. Made public see the attack on rights. 3) Iran war. Made public see bad foreign policy affects them directly.
I do think when historians look back the period the exact moment where it flipped and started going the other way won’t be anything any politician did but my Minneapolis neighbors weathering the worst of the regime in the streets, rallying together, fighting back, and winning

I’m not the kind of person who believes life has gotten worse in the last 40 years. That’s an insane suggestion. There are 45 different flavors of Pepsi at every pharmacy. But. A frustrating number of daily tasks are now loaded with friction in the name of security of the veneer of security.

Karen Bass has, for my money, not failed in any of the ways that people say she has. Homelessness has been significantly reduced and throwing her body in the path of that fire hurricane would not have stopped it. The moment Base threw in with the homeowner aristocracy, Nithya got my vote.
Just a little tiny window into the endless spiral of unnecessary human misery caused by California's NIMBY zoning induced housing crisis!

As an IT professional - don’t do this. A good phishing testing strategy involves not enraging your users. There’s a lot of better ways to do this that don’t make you seem like a huge dickhole.
this is fucking appalling. i already knew james dolan (who owns the knicks and madison square garden) was a douche but this is next-level. www.nytimes.com/athletic/771...

What the Mets did by mediating the transfer of Freddy Peralta between the two eventual pennant winners without really netting anything for him or getting even replacement level production out of him, it’s really art. It’s like a weird version of money laundering where only you go to jail.
Trade some middling prospects for Freddy Peralta, instantly break his whole shit and flop so bad that all of America knows what every inch of your ass looks like, trade Peralta for some maybe-better prospects to a team that fixes him instantly. Yeah I'd say this is outcome is a big win for the Mets.

You know all those cool old brick buildings where they open the hipster coffee shops and food halls and whatnot? We remember when they were all just decaying husks that had been sitting there crumbling in the sun since James Earl Ray cut America's heart out, it was a very different vibe.

it is the same exact thing as demanding that black candidates for office “disavow farrakhan,” which happened quite a bit in the 90s and 2000s
El-Sayed is going to forced to disavow the Muslim Brotherhood at least a dozen times more before the midterms. The point is clearly not the answer. The point is the question. It's basically push-polling.
