CNBC: CBO says it'll add a trillion dollars to our public debt. How do you square that? BESSENT: If you turn up the growth projections to something like 3 percent, then the debt disappears

How none of these MAGA liars are never immediately struck down with a bolt of lightning should have everyone questioning the existence of a higher power.

Yes, the debt goes to Happy Valley, a luminous orange place where bunnies nibble the clover and the Good Ship Lollypop sings good night to the tiny mice in their little feetie pajamas.

You know what else was different in Trump 1.0? No threats to remove the Fed Chair. No sweeping firings in the federal government, w/ coinciding layoffs among private contractors. No insane tariffs. No job-stealing AI. No one destroying checks and balances. But sure. Tax cuts will fix all that

How does it make sense that cutting support & health coverage for poor people = higher GDP? Low/Middle income families drive the economy so taking $ out of their pockets literally decreases demand, and growth. It’s such a bullshit mindset not based on logic.

The best (sarcasm) part about this terrible bill, is all the MAGA who believed Trump that housing, gas & groceries would be affordable with him as President not only didn’t get that but are about to experience unimaginable pain losing benefits they didn’t realize were funded by tax dollars.

Trump is a failed businessman. Six bankrupt businesses. When the US banks stopped lending him money, he turned to Russia. Now he owes them and they own him and the destiny of every American.

Reality check dude. Growth is slowing as we speak. Tariffs. Business uncertainty. Presidential impulsivity. Stagflation. Debt crisis looming. Encroaching police state. Cowards and unapologetic sadists leading the way. It will only continue to get worse. And you Sir shall drown with the rest of us.

The Republican cult has been peddling voodoo economics for so long that they may actually believe their own bullshit about the magic of their tax cuts for the rich causing higher growth. Of course, in reality, that never happens.

Yeah, I think 2012 is a good point in the chronology for this. Mitt Romney knew tax cuts didn't work, Paul Ryan didn't know. Everyone aged-Paul Ryan and younger (plus the ones who are just dumb) believe tax cuts are broadly stimulative. The people around Romney's age know it's just marketing.

24 years ago, the Bush administration said this exact thing. They were wrong then. But that’s not surprising. Supply side economics have never worked. Ever. Not once in history. Why start now?

Rest assured the Treasury Secretary does not believe the one budget forecasting entity that has most consistently gotten it right. Must be nice to have already made a fortune and pass a bill that makes you richer than anyone needs to be
