Surely an increasingly larger portion of the labor force dedicating their lives to the whims of a few assholes is not zero sum, right?

Wouldn’t it be cool if the hundreds of thousands of people working on luxury items like yachts and mansions were building homes or making food for those that needed them instead? Just spitballing here.

This is a bit desperate. Perhaps y'all should stick to giving him amazing viral nicknames? I'm personally looking forward to a hot commie summer with Zohran the Destroyer.

FT why would anyone care what AEI thinks. What case would you make for publishing disingenuous reputation management on behalf of an organisation funded by the hyper wealthy to advance their interests?

Funnily enough, that's basically how it works. Most of the wealth that billionaires actually have isn't cash, it's assets that they're borrowing against or debt they intend to make someone else pay. Doesn't matter if you OWE a billion $ if nobody tries to collect it all at once.

...lol capitalists making shit up to justify their untenable desire for infinite profits is just fuckin sad at this point. your predatory socioeconomic experiment failed. get over it.

deeply unserious post. interesting how it does not cite any research, does not talk about how exactly the billionaires came upon their billions, or how they treat the people in their employ. delete this shit from this website and yours

Is this the same AEI where Bell Curve author Charles Murray is still an Emeritus Fellow who believes that intelligence is genetically related to 'race' and which has received $millions in donations from ExxonMobile while funding bursaries for scientists to debunk climate change? Great work the FT!

Billionaires are bad for society, bad for our health, and bad for the fucking environment. Fucking PARASITES that are eating us alive to feed their insatiable egos. Fuck off. Billionaires are about to become obsolete.

The evidence to date is that billionaires are irresponsible, inclined to abuse their power and celebrate profiting from exploiting people and blatant theft of other people's intellectual property, knowing full well most do not have the resources to sustain a legal action. No thanks .

Better to reign in hell than serve in heaven? No, but we could call it debatably debatable. But to crawl on your belly in hell for the chance to lick the crumbs from Satan's lips like a dog...demand more for yourself and from yourself, Michael.

It’s not Mamdani who believes this- it’s the billionaires! Look at the legislation that was passed! All wealth is being transferred from the least wealthy to the most wealthy! Unbelievable.
