To put it in proper context, it would have been illegal for Musk to have given that salute in person instead of projecting it onto his factory. He knows exactly what he’s doing & doesn’t give a fuck about what it conveys to Germany & the world. He’s a broken & very dangerous human being.

Musk and his ilk are claiming Musk was just excited and this was just an excited gesture in no way meant to resemble the nazi salute. I agree that Musk was excited but I think that in his excitement he let down what few filters that he has. It is exactly what it looks like. Musk is a nazi lover.

Showing that salute or other "symbols of unconstitutional organzzations" (as the German Criminal Code calls it) is allowed * in an historic context or * as part of a piece of art (this could be applicable here) when the artist is distancing themselves from the Nazis. Disclaimer: IANAL.

Of course it's not an excuse, there are millions of autistic people that manage to live their whole lives without a sieg heil. But also, if it was a honest mistake, then he would have said so and been horrified by what it looked like and apologised. Which he didn't, because it's not just a mistake.

I meant the actual action of a salute like that. I have to confess not knowing what the legality is regarding a photo, or poster, or projected image, even if the point is to shame the person doing it. 🤔

Not sure Tesla owners are green people as they don't like batteries. They favor public transportation and bicycles. The image of Tesla is more of a luxury sports car and targets idiots who think like Musk: "I'm above you, subhumans".

The German enterprise Viebrockhaus (they are among the biggest builders' companies and use green energy and batteries in their houses) have also decided to abandon Tesla-technology. They explain their decision by the statements made by Musk and his attempts to influence German elections.
