“Wilder’s family actually approved of the recreation of the actor’s voice used in the series. His voice was recreated using ElevenLabs, an AI voice generator platform, with the permission of the late actor’s wife Karen B. Wilder.” Well, all I have to say is GILDA WOULD HAVE NEVER.

Remember when they told us it would cure cancer and actually help humanity? Poor Gene, RIP. Imagine your image/likeness being used after you’d died to do a shitty version of your old job… Disgusting

your soulless homunculus will never be able to capture that mans magic and this is a disgusting affront to arts, morality, and human dignity before we even approach the legality of attempted theft of someones likeness and personality. You disgust me

Why? People die. When that happens, you don't get to see any more new work by them. That's just life. Why use AI to Weekend at Bernie's a person just to slap nostalgia goggles on something? It's not only gross commercialism, but a fundamental lack of appreciation of the impermanence of life.

To use the AI slop machine to falsify post-mortem work by them is to devalue and show a complete lack of appreciation for who they were and the body of work they produced. It's a hollow facsimile lacking any touchstone of humanity.

Will never watch AI shit. We have the original movie with real live humans and everything Indians to see 1970’s Wilder as Wonka

When you write that Gene Wilder "lives on," can you point to which part, specifically, of the actual deceased human being has been resurrected? Or did you perhaps mean to write "the beloved comedian is being grotesquely impersonated by a computer program, built by programmers, for money."

It’s gonna crash and burn. Even disregarding all the moral and ethical outrage, it’ll just be so clunky, stilted, and grating to the eyes and ears that nobody will watch it.

Vile, reprehensible, morally disgusting, wrong, whoever had the idea should rethink the choices they made to get them to the point that this would be fine.

I love Gene Wilder, this isn't Gene Wilder. Let the dead rest, hire someone new.
