The essence of Trumpism is inventing an imagined world in which everything is worse.

Sen. Bernie Moreno: "We have to remember that if Kamala Harris had won on November 5, the stock market would be down 50 percent ... this country would be on a path to ruin. What President Trump inherited is a disaster from Biden."

Rs have nothing but talking points but why doesn't anyone ever ask WHAT were the awful Biden policies that caused the stock market to soar, the unemployment rate to drop and the rate of inflation to trend downward?

It’s amazing he can say this with a straight face. No, it has nothing to do with Captain Tariff & his whiplash on-again-off-again random decrees OR massive federal firings and dismantling of our government that is causing destabilization in our stock market. Did I mention the FAA & fear of flying?

Funny to watch how the promise went from: lower grocery/housing prices and no more inflation on day ONE to... Well, we "inherited" mess and maybe a recession is happening but we planned this because things have to get worse before they get better... Meanwhile, we're firing thousands of Americans.

They never have agency for absolutely anything in part because a huge swath of the press never fully requires they take proper ownership of dogshit policy

Exactly. Anything negative is always someone else's fault. Anything they want credit for is because of them. They're always aggrieved and always the victim. They search for narratives to cast themselves as victims no matter how absurd and when that stops working they move onto the next.

It's a learned abusive behavior. I do believe this could be mitigated if more confronted them on their repeated bad behavior and spoke about this as a behavior. We focus more on the specific lie and less on confronting and naming their bad faith behavior. They're allowed to lie.

That was just a story they told about themselves. It was a social fiction. They still believe they are that party. Sometimes the more clever a person the better they are at rationalizing things away. They're carved out a space of unreality for themselves where they can behave unreasonably. And

What Trump says - well - he doesn't really have the credentials to be considered "functionally normal". He has no idea what truth or the law is. He is a mess. But for Sen Moreno here - the stock market would be down 50% under Harris - it is so demeaning to him and the Senate. It's so unethical.

This one is the "counterfactual fallacy," "speculative evidence" variety. These guys provide a boatload of examples for just about every kind of logical fallacy there is. It's no wonder they generally hate science.

And arguing opposites without taking a breath between. Are tariffs meant to punish unfair trade practices *(lie 1) or force border measures to protect from being overrun by drugs *(laughable lie 2)? Or… option 3 after valuable earth minerals that aren’t naturally abundant in the US. Useful idiots

Because it can't be refuted. They pivot from having to deal with reality and defending their position to a make-believe world that hews to their fantasies.

Trump inherited the best economy in the world and totally trashed it in less than 30 days. he and his team are clueless, mean, nasty fools.

Sure, things may be bad now, but what if your arms and legs were broken and you were lying on the floor while a parade of feral cats took turns pissing in your mouth? Wouldn't that be worse?

He has a number of imaginary worlds going. This has been the secret of Republican success in the last couple of decades: "creating their own reality" and brainwashing their followers into living in it.

Including how the economy performed under Biden. I’m beyond tired of seeing Trump and his apparatchiks claim the economy was a disaster, without any pushback from reporters. The economy was doing quite well, aside from the very real lingering effects of inflation.

Essence of trumpism: A politically, economically, legally, constitutionally, historically illiterate electorate who are only semi-literate & consume more sports in a single weeknd than books after HS & having th largest & most sophisticatd misinfo media networks in human history to keep 'em that way

I wonder how the families of these liars deal. Are they embarrassed? Do they care? How do they teach their children right from wrong with all this lying as an example?

Record high stock market. The best soft landing against global inflation in the world. A total fucking disaster which nobody could have prevented from shrinking the market by trillions. Republicans want us all to be paste eating rubes. This is the dumbest fucking argument there is. Facts matter.

And I think you’re an idiot because in Trump world he’s the only one that’s allowed to destroy the economy and blame it on everyone else! So had you elected a Democrat things would be looking a hell of a lot better! These idiots are like on a tape recorder! Mimicking whatever Trump tells them

We should all move to Sesame Street. Where everyone seems to be doing financially well, though we’re not sure how Bert and Ernie make a living. They’ve resolved the housing crisis, their garbage cans are quite spacious, just ask Oscar the Grouch. With excellent public schools and clean streets.

The Republicans' explicit policy is often to be in favor of bad things. It's Mitt Romney's "self-deportation" but applied to U.S. citizens instead of illegal immigrants. Reducing government is tantamount to making life worse for most Americans. And they know it. They're doing it on purpose.

Pretty much everything I had been taught in these school subjects - civics, government, law, ethics, science, economics, history - has been re-written by this administration. What I learned in church was also thrown out over the years. My life has been turned into a lie for Trump(ism).

If there was a huge protest in DC while everyone was in office who would panick and run and who would stay to tell? Where would the liars shelter? There is only so much room in the Whitehouse bunkers. Their lies will not fix their problems. We need to divvy up the states and start over.

😂😂😂 I literally just heard reporting citing Yale school of management, that Trump/Musk Presidentcy inherited a great economy. STOP LISTENING TO FOX NEWS LIES. THEY ARE AN ENTERTAINMENT NETWORK, WHICH IS WHY WE CANT SUE THEM FOR LYING. really people stop being stupid.

Instead of going on another news site rebutting the garbage they are spewing on FOX, why don't the Dems buy air time for an ad that airs lets say during a televised sporting event that clearly spells out the horrific actions this Admin has implemented and the disastrous impact to American citizens

No Boo, he inherited a great economy from Biden. He's driving the US into bankruptcy like all of his other businesses. Hire a Bancrupter get a bankruptcy. Everyone knows that. But foxtards like to see make believe economies.

Cause: Trump Tariffs Effect: Market plunge. Cause: Trump Massive federal layoffs Effect: systemic unemployment Cause: Trump betrayal of allies and western democracy Effect: global instability, no allies, insecurity Cause: Trump Effect: decline of American freedom, prosperity and democracy

And that doesn’t even cover the first 6 weeks. Wait until your federal and state taxes go up to replace the federal services he’s destroyed, the health issues that result from environmental deregulation and defunding research, or the inability to respond to natural disasters.

No, we’ll be able to trace pretty much everything back to Trump, his executive tweets, his administration and the Republican Congress. They tweet, mug and Fox News everything they do because they’re all Narcissists.

The hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance is staggering. They are the height of everything that is wrong. They have no honour, no integrity, no strength of character. The are immoral, unethical pariahs to the fundamental American principles the Us was built upon. Liz: "Their dishonour will remain."

Victor Klemperer noted that truth dies in four modes: The first is open and active hostility to verifiable reality, which takes the form of presenting inventions and lies as if they were facts.
