American war planning usually takes place in highly secure facilities. But the Trump administration planned its strikes on the Houthis using a group chat—and accidentally included The Atlantic’s editor in chief, Jeffrey Goldberg. theatln.tc/IuULQFiY

Everyone involved should be removed from their positions and prosecuted in a trial with due process. Yes, MAGA, everyone is entitled to due process, even unqualified political appointees who endanger our national security and make a mockery of our nation’s war dead with their utter incompetence.

Who could have predicted that appointing an ignorant, inexperienced, unintelligent drunkard to one of the most responsible jobs in the world solely because he hates black people and women would lead to mistakes being made.

The incompetence of this administration is beyond anyone's imagination. November 5th was the biggest gift in history to our adversaries including China, Russia and even our allies that many don't believe spy on America. They are governing by passing notes in math class.

"gladly" this is not a general technical vulnerability (encryption is safe) but a human one. Unfortunately that is the harder one to fix in this case..

The question i have is this: "WHO is going to make the first strike on our soil?" Now that the ENTIRE world knows the ONE guy heading up ALL of our military is a drunken assclown, we are sitting ducks. Even Kim Jon Un knows we are unprepared for war under Kegseth's 'leadership'.

King Donald’s administration doesn’t know who they are including in classified discussions on an unauthorized platform and violating the Presidential Records Act in the process. In normal times, Congress would be initiating multiple investigations for this gross incompetence.

It makes no sense other than to defend Israel to leave the chat. The way the article frames the story like it started on October 7th is what we've come to expect from liberals. Liberals handwring about the rules of the road but not literal genocide. The Houthis are the only ones fighting for Gaza

Two reactions. First, what a bunch of fucking amateurs! Second, and in contrast, the discussion and consideration of policy / PR implications was more measured, reasonable, and responsible than I’d ever expect from these cranks. So, terrible, but slightly reassuring at the same time.

This is a completely mind-blowing violation of national security 🤯 and may also be a crime 🦹 It makes Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck look like brain surgeons. The world is laughing at us. #CompetencyMatters We need to stop this madness and get our country back on track! jointheunion.us

And here's what was most front of mind for JD Vance when he learned about the egregious breach: "William Martin, a spokesperson for Vance, said that despite the impression created by the texts, the vice president is fully aligned with the president." What a small, small, small, small, small, man.

"A message to the group, from 'Michael Waltz,' read as follows: 'Team – establishing a principles [sic] group for coordination on Houthis, particularly for over the next 72 hours." - The Atlantic Thing is, Jeff Goldberg, they actually do need a "principles" group.

Co dress needs hearings on this yesterday! But Republicans will do NOTHING. Classifies discussions in a non government platform. Intentionally evading record keeping requirements. Espionage Act?

Send the gift link to EVERYONE you know. Make it your biggest request they read it today! And if your local news isn't talking about it, call them and complain that you want it reported! Our leaders are idiots who will get us killed. Americans should know that! www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

No other country in the world will ever trust the United States of America again - and with GOOD REASON. Even Putin likely had no idea how effective his useful idiots, like 🤡Pete Hegseth, 🤡Mike Waltz & 🤡JD Vance, would be in discrediting the U.S. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Hey JD Vance, how's that "Don't be an idiot" thing going ... Pete Hegseth just showed the whole wide world that the Trump administration is dominated by complete idiots - all of them! And Putin is smiling - again. Americans, we're in big danger!

I can't remember an occasion when I read a story and literally had my mouth agape in complete disbelief. What incompetent, college jock, knuckle-dragging halfwits. And if anyone in Europe was in any doubt what the contempt we're held by the US, there can be none now.

It is worse than 'amateur night'! Non-sackable Offences: Incompetence, compromising operational information, failure to follow security protocols, endangering Service personnel's lives. Stackable Offence: Disloyalty to King Trump!!

Just goes to show when you appoint people who don’t know what they are doing, they don’t know what they are doing. Just add National Security to the ever-growing list of haplessly compromised government functions.

MAGA-Republicans were hyper hypocritical of Hillary’s emails, but not one of those unpatriotic individuals have mentioned anything about this extreme, unheard of breach of national security. I wonder what else they have let the World know about the USA? What a bunch of MAGA-Republican clowns.

I'm a lowly assistant nurse manager. If I used an unsecured, unauthorized messaging platform to send protected patient info I'd be fired, fined up to $50k, and face a year in prison. Everyone on this thread should be censured at a bare minimum. Hegseth should be removed. Period.

See! I told you Trump was incompetent. Not a genius! If he hadn’t been born to a real estate magnet in New York, he’d be a used car salesman…at a small lot that sells totaled and flooded cars.

I'd call them incompetent but I doubt they know how to spell that. But it is in my Trumpism Dick Shun Aerie Incomtrumpence: The level of sophistication of those working in the Rumpoast Administration.
