I could spend the rest of my life analysing this feedback sign in the local Home Bargains. Did 'not happy' break from overuse? Was it taped over to ensure 100% positive feedback? Is the green 'b' in 'feedback' some kind of subliminal nudge? Is the duck tape indent because people still keep pressing?

last RT: I see this as emblematic. David Willetts wrote a long letter to the LRB in 2011 justifying HE reforms. He wanted the argument, although "intellectual" is sous rature. www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v3... Perhaps only J Johnson of his successors as Minister has any inclination in this ilk

Damn. "Contract Killers and the Far Right is an Al Jazeera Investigation that exposes the links between the right-wing student movement Turning Point UK which has organised and participated in anti-immigrant protests in the UK and an armed paramilitary who can arrange murders for money."

I didn’t know much about about Abdul El-Sayed before watching this but I knew as soon as I’d seen it that he’d worked as a teacher — and sure enough he was an assistant professor in epidemiology. This is how you walk a student through a dumb take.
This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.
can't remember who I heard on the wireless recently saying that one of the things they value about listening to music is that it changes over time, and reminds the listener that things change
'No feeling will last forever'. It's a trite observation, and incredibly difficult to remember when you deep in the pit, but it is *absolutely true*. Write it down and put it on the wall in every room in your house if you need to.

I don’t give a fuck about what the public ‘reckon’ about diagnoses, especially when the reckoning is in large part due to a concerted media campaign over recent years.
With much media coverage of a government report that ADHD and autism are being over-diagnosed, a claim which some experts have disputed, half of Britons now believe that the conditions are being over-diagnosed Over-diagnosed: 50% Under-diagnosed: 17% About right: 17% yougov.com/en-gb/daily-...

I’m sorry to have to be the bad guy here but we need to recognize that we live in a compressed air thrusters world now. If you’re not finding ways to teach the critical use of compressed air thrusters in your classroom, you’re setting your students up to fail when you could be setting them up to fly

Coal miners had the sense to take urgent action when their birds died They knew that an environment that couldn't support birds ultimately couldn't support them either

In National Treasure Book of Secrets they find a book in a secret panel at a specific shelf mark. Shelf marks aren’t static rather they relate to a book’s location within a sequence and therefore the premise of hiding something at a location indicated by a shelf mark is flawed
