A MAGA freak in Texas murdered his own daughter in cold blood after they had an argument about Trump. A grand jury in the Dallas area then *declined to indict him*, and he has not yet faced charges. Seems like many Texans believe a man has the right to kill his own child for disobedience.

“PuRpLe StAtE” MY FUCKING ASS!!!!!!!!! There is not ONE non-Nazi in the ENTIRE fucking state of Texas at this point, and we’d all be better off if somehow we found a way to cut Texas off from civilization. Airlift the, like, 22 people living there who still actually have value as human beings

out of there to actual society and let the rest of those backwards, savage fucking monsters tear each other apart. Red states in the U.S. are ALREADY failed ones at this point. No actual law, no ACTUAL order, barely any functioning government services left, with neo-Nazi billionaires owning

Conservatives fundamentally think children are property of parents and not individual human beings. That is a foundational aspect of patriarchy and hierarchy and authority that organize their lives.

Sorry to be a reply guy. The below on Joe Biden publicly loving his troubled son, Hunter, and how that enraged the right

They basically view children (even adult children it seems) as property. That's largely the basis behind the "parent's rights" positions. And if you own an object that's broken or doesn't work the way you want, you discard it. Like a child.

And that's different from abortion, how? Until the fetus opposes the parent, it is protected. Upon disobedience, death is a parent's right. So Texans agree with Taliban, now?!

The question I haven't seen answered is whether he's British. News reports say he "moved to Texas" but not clear if he was returning to the US or immigrating. An English court could claim jurisdiction to try him for murder either way, but it's a lot easier if he's a British citizen.

The shooting was over a year ago, we're hearing about it now because of an English coroner's inquest. This will almost certainly return a verdict of unlawful killing given that even his version of events is probably gross negligence manslaughter (pointing a loaded gun at someone while drunk).

Not even the English coroner concluded that it was anything other than accidental. Maybe a culpable accident, but not cold-blooded murder. But of course, "drunken trump fan murders daughter for anti-MAGA heresy" is so much more sellable than the truth.

Knock off the "buddy" nonsense. I practice law in Texas, including Collin County, which is rapidly turning blue and definitely not the rural backwater the U.K. press is portraying. And how do you account for even the U.K. coroner concluding it was an accident, not an execution?

As I'm not a lawyer or a coroner nor bound by the legal profession, I am perfectly free to say that I wasn't born yesterday, and that every aspect of this situation stinks.

The mf had already told his daughter that he wouldn’t have minded if Trump and Epstein had raped her because “he had other daughters.“ Nut we’re supposed to believe that after telling her this, he calmly walked his daughter to his bedroom just to show her his gun and “oops it went off!” 🙄🙄

A "Maga freak?" I suppose that was a very typical conservative, right wing, Republican voter in gun-loving Texas, all about egoism, hubris, bullying, violence, doing what he can to promote fascism. He'll likely be a hero in conservative, Republican circles, be the keynote speaker at their rallies.

Oh look, The State doing what the The State has always done - clearly demonstrate that some have protection w/no responsibility. But this time it’s a white woman at the business end & not somebody you can feel comfortable blaming for their own death.

Texas is rife with fragile beliefs of existential threats to an America that doesn't exist. The people who buy into it are willing to murder anyone if they think their fabricated reality is in danger.

"many Texans" this is a state that's almost 300k square miles with over 30 million people, kindly fuck off with yr generalizations. Talk like that is the reason so many of us resent outsiders' criticism and that's coming from yr neighborhood Marxist

I’m Southern and I have spent a lot of time in Texas. It is also simply true that are a disproportionately large number of miserable MAGA assholes in Texas.

And speaking as someone with Southern roots, I am so very bored with the lame excuse that the reason a lot of those people are assholes is because other people accurately identified them as such.

The details of this case are enraging evidence of the vicious, virulent misogyny that runs through everything Trump and his demonic cultists do and say.

It's not inaccurate though. Sharia law in some Muslim countries imposes a death penalty for being LGBTQ. A man can divorce verbally; a woman must go to court. Women are legally subordinate. It also imposes the death penalty for apostasy, publishing porn and...witchcraft. See Saudi Arabia, Yemen, etc

I used the word “child” because a person’s adult child is still *their child*, not because I was somehow implying the victim of this crime was not a fully grown adult.

I periodically tell my students that I'm teaching them Latin because they need to learn how to read closely & carefully lest they become a So You Hate Waffles person online as adults.

He claims it was accidental and he was drunk and just showing it to her, and even if that were true, he's guilty of some level of crime. And if he were an immigrant from anywhere else, Trump and Kristi Noem would be attacking him and his country.

Okay so how on earth is this guy not in prison right now? He’s essentially admitting to manslaughter there. It seems if you have a jury of MAGA shit stains, you can murder your daughter in cold blood and get away with it.

I hate how MAGA people can't just allow others to exist differently than them. I don't know what to do about that I just know I'm sick of hearing stories about their brutality and hatred that suffers no consequences.

The refused to indict her dad despite him openly admitting to holding the gun when it went off, and that he pointed it at her. It’s a Glock. One of the most reliable, well known modern pistols. It didn’t just “go off.” *At minimum* it is a negligent discharge which is reckless endangerment.

The premise of ordered society is tomorrow. Not even that all of us will see that tomorrow, but that there will be one. If you murder my beloved in cold blood, admit it, and I wait for the legal system to act, only for it to refuse to charge you with even a token slap on the wrist? Lughnasadh.

I’m still angry about this. Been thinking about it since I woke up. It’s the lack of a charge of any sort that infuriates me. It isn’t even the system procedurally shielding cops or the rich throwing money at lawyers to get off. Just straight up, “it is perfectly legal to shoot your lib daughter.”

I'm Canadian. My wife just disowned her father two nights ago because he screamed at her, called her worthless, dumb, and 'brainwashed by the CBC' when Trump came up, because he spends all day, every day, listening to rebel news and other alt-right shows. This headline made my heart stop.

You mean the state that puts bounties on women who get abortions thinks it’s okay to murder family members if they don’t agree with your Nazi politics? Well color me shocked. 🙄

Anyone still on the Trump train is a deranged freak and a dipshit. The sort of deranged freak who will murder you for criticizing the Fuhrer? The sort of dipshit who is a “gun enthusiast,” but will disregard every basic gun safety rule when showing you his gun? Just assume yes to both.

I mean, that's what he said happened. Which is already criminally negligent or so I hear (pointing the gun at her etc) but then there's the question of if what he said is even plausible a sequence of events. Why was he showing her the gun? Why did she want to see it? How unreliable a gun was it?

and he was drunk when he shot her. She was 30 minutes away from the rest of her life. I want to know who he is and what his connections are that they didn’t press charges. Handling a loaded gun while drunk should at LEAST be manslaughter but this sounds like murder

And that's different from abortion, how? Until the fetus opposes the parent, it is protected. Upon disobedience, death is a parent's right. So Texans agree with Taliban, now?!

Apparently the issue at question was whether the gun that HE WAS HOLDING IN HIS HAND POINTED AT HIS DAUGHTER simply went off by itself or if he pulled he trigger? And because he "can't recall" if his finger was on the trigger we'll just...never know? And these are the "guns don't kill people" fold

I'm so disgusted by the community I was born into being like that but I also know a large amount don't have the vocabulary, ability to pick up context clues, etc. to understand a lot of legal things so I do wonder what sort of language c was used that they didn't indict him. Education sucks there.

You are angry at someone, point a gun at them and pull the trigger: that is murder. The only reason he's not being charged is because Texas police think that he was justified because his daughter was a liberal and defying him.
