Forget designer jeans and stylish summer dresses. TikTok’s trendiest outfit is a stick with a sack on the end with inside out pants pockets and a shoe with the toe part lifted up

The BIGGEST trend for 2026: Eating like a college student when you make 50k a year cause you're BROKE! The HOTTEST trend for 2027: Going to Palmetto State Armory and getting a rifle because of a sincere fear that there will be a sharp rise in violence and it WILL be reaching your door eventually!

Part of it is economic, but there are also a handful of registered dietitian and nutritionist who have made BeanTok a thing to break the cult of proteincentricity. Liam The Plant Slant, especially. But there was also a Dense Bean Salad trend last year, long before $4.50 gasoline.

Well, legumes (beans) really are high in protein, come in thousands of varieties and, most importantly, can grow just about anywhere. Maybe folks are turning to beans because the economy sucks, but like sour dough bread during the pandemic, at least it's beneficial. 💁

Both foods have been trending upwards in the past few years though. And food magazines have been trying to push for more vegetarian mains for a while. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

it just means we are winning (vegan socialists that will kill the fast spoiling and oil industry boosting and polluting factory farming that is killing workers and the land and only making a small elite rich and also the people fat and weak)

For the record I'm neither American nor Brazilian so I'm sorry to hear both of you have been forced against your will to eat beans. Beans are good food but definitely not a thing you want to have to eat all the time because the economy is fucked.

Gonna be honest, feeling kinda resentful that people are hopping on the bean train way too late. As an early adopter of beans, I was "in" on beans way before they were considered mainstream.
