They chose the "perfect candidate for them" and refused to vote for the closest person to that. It's a dumb as maga voting for trump for transparency and lower prices. He's draining the swamp and creating a much larger cesspool

That's not going to happen -- yet. In the meantime, you will be offered a different candidate. What are you going to do? Will you vote for the Democratic ticket, or are you going to allow this country to be run by more Republican assholes? That is the decision.

While he didn’t really govern as a leftist, even Obama was saying this in 08’ and that’s why he won! The Democratic Party establishment is terrible at their jobs and don’t know how to win an election. They only do well when republicans are fucking up, or when a relatively young outsider breaks in.

“Hi I’m a voter that is really concerned about inequality and healthcare and want the president to be further to ‘the left.’ My strategy? Help Donald Trump win the presidency. I am the base and you should listen to me.”

Harris voters also believe inequality is at the heart of America’s problems and health care should be available to everyone, we just recognized that allowing Trump to win in order to punish Democrats for not giving us those things was genocidal collective punishment.

These last nine months have been infuriating. The Democratic Party going after Mamdani has shown how corporate many of them are. At the same time, too many on the left are willing to sacrifice the civil rights of millions when the perfect candidate isn't on the ballot (see 2000 and 2016).

Absolutely true. The holier-than-thou on the left are no different than the holier-than-thou on the right. The my-way-or-the-highway attitude is the reason nothing can get done in Washington.

Weird how people in the replies forget that voter apathy is a thing. If huge chunks of the population straight up don't feel like they have been represented in decades they're gonna think their vote doesn't matter. Maybe certain elected Dems and future candidates should work on that problem.

When a lot of people don't vote, there are two things you can do about it: Play it safe, point the finger at non-voters and repeat the lame message "Vote for the sake of voting!" Or get off your can and push for electoral reforms that are sure to raise turnout...

Every term since 2000, a Medicare for all, Bill has been introduced. It’s never been supported by more than a half of Democrats; correct me if I’m wrong. M4A is popular but never given a floor vote; the Corporate establishment Democrats always link arms with Republicans to kill it in committee.

truthout.org6 in 10 Americans Back Medicare for All — PollThe poll's results stand in stark contrast to Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill," which cuts federal health care spending.

The future of this country is likely democratic socialism. That means a complete overhaul of the system, but not using a chainsaw like Elon. It rewrites law so that power is more evenly distributed and favors the people's needs. It's OUR money. Time we spent more of it on ourselves...

Conservatives are turning on Trump and liberals are being programmed to hate trans people, immigrants, muslims, and progressive policies. What exactly is the difference between them now? It's just going to be mobs of lead poisoned Gen Xers hunting down anyone who complains about the ruling class.

Policy progress is popular. Which is why @democrats.org neoliberal enabling has led to the oligarch donors they share with Republicans deciding they no longer need a democracy at all due to the risk of popular will ending their capital concentrating exploitation. bsky.app/profile/roll...

Imagine if they had actually shown up to cast a vote and they had voted for the Dem candidate. Perhaps we wouldn’t have the worst fucking person in the word as president right now.

They skipped the election, ruining a potential great presidency by a proven progressive, just to hold us all hostage for four years (at least) of fascism as a stunt to give their grifting influencers more relevancy, and they think I'm going to show up for them now? Yeah, no.

They had virtue signaling temper tantrums and either didn't vote, voted for a 3rd party [at this US, men's nothing] or actually voted against themselves and their community! Democracy was on the ballot 🗳 but their ego will help pay for groceries or help them scrounge for food when the economy dies

I'm not saying, nor have I been that some democrats have questionable decision making... but the actual going out to vote part, which was THE chance, no, the CHOICE to elect someone who would still advance democracy, vs someone who wants and has unleashed fascism. And your point is?! 🤔

Stop shoving right-wing, capitalist bootlickers who support genocide & decide that it's fine to abandon marginalized people when they think it will help them politically. Just to be crystal clear. It doesn't help. Give them someone who gives them hope. They lost & gave us trump because they suck.

My counter argument: the Democrats don’t pick serious candidates when it counts. If defeating Trump was their goal, they should be going for the most popular candidates that could galvanize disaffected or disillusioned voters. Instead they still try to manufacture consent around bad candidates

Yes, it’s inequality. Who will argue that Americans aren’t focused exclusively on their own bank accounts, ignoring everyone else ? It definitely tracks. Yes, the horrible people are rioting because they fully realize they have lost all affluence to a few billionaires…

“The polling, conducted by Democratic pollster Celinda Lake on behalf of the progressive donor network Way to Win, indicates that, contrary to Beltway groupthink, these voters would have preferred someone more progressive than Harris. “ So “progressive” pollster finds progressive ideas are popular?

bernie n aoc have their own followers/cult. but we the ppl reject their socialist/communist-radical left-insanity: medicare/citizenship for illegals; open borders; more taxes/gov/regs. we believe in free markets, lower taxes, tax cuts, less gov/regs, prosperity. www.cnbc.com/2018/06/05/t...

cnbc.comThere are more jobs than people out of work, something the American economy has never experienced beforeThe jobs market has reached what should be some kind of inflection point: There are now more openings than there are workers.

Democrats need to come out swinging against the billionaires and stop taking AIPAC money. Otherwise the problems they had that led to 2024 are only going to keep getting worse. People aren’t dumb. They like genuine candidates who aren’t clearly captured by the oligarchy.

It’s going to happen again, too, if Democrats stay on the absolutely useless path they’re currently on. These bozos like Schumer and Jeffries think they’re going to win power just because Trump and Republicans are awful. Fucking stand for something!

They have fought progress at every turn. Tfoh with this bs. You’re as trashy as they are. Enjoy the fascism you brought upon the rest of us. Garbage publication, garbage outlet, garbage ppl. Garbage.

Maybe those self-destructive morons will think about voting next time. We could have a smart, tough, law-abiding black woman as President except for assholes who "skipped the 2024 election". Honestly, fuck them.

Harris lost the most ground to Trump in the 6 states that flipped with high school or less educated suburban women in households earning between $25k-$50k. These people are not ideologues. Most of them were likely among the 21 million households giving half their income to a landlord though.

I don’t post this to blame the people that moved away from Democrats. Democrats failed these voters and failed to earn back their trust moving forward. Thats democrats fault. It is the parties, the candidates and partisans job to build a winning coalition. They failed, they need to figure out why.

Please provide proof that self-destructive morons "skipped the 2024 election". Last time I looked at the Rockland NY statistics in the upcoming court case, some of your so called morons signed affidavits saying they did show up but their vote wasn't counted. Dont be an a-hole.

All I have to do is cite the official vote totals. More than 6 million less voted Harris than voted Biden. - 75,017,613 Harris 2024 - 81,284,666 Biden 2020 Now, if you are saying that vote total is not correct, then YOU need to provide proof.

Yeah? Well instead their “statement” lead to a first and second Trump presidency. With Clinton and Harris administrations, they would have gotten a lot closer to their ideal…instead we have been pushed back so far we may never see what they want. Actions=Consequences

I've blocked 2 and will block all of you highly-principled jagoffs who drop in here to say "bUt KaMaLa WaS A gEnOcDe EnAbLeR" motherfucker what do you think Trump is? We got a genocide going on here at home now, with actual concentration camps, and the genocide over there has accelerated

Fully regardless of how you feel about this in either direction - I don't give half a damn about some childish focus on 'blame' - I will make this abundantly clear: Dems will get even less voters due to this next election if they do not respond in some way to this. They will lose until they do.

If that was the choice, then Harris should've run a less dogshit campaign. You dont get to skirt responsibility because your opponent is a demon. So morally high-horsed you are, but completely unwilling to campaign on any of your supposed beliefs. And don't aid a genocide.

If that was the choice, AND IT WAS, Harris could've run a LITERAL dogshit campaign and fuckwits STILL should have voted for her because now millions at home and abroad will die. I swear to jeebus, what the fuck are you not understanding about the situation???

I don't care what you think "should" happen. You dont get fly in the face of the reality of American politics. You think you can play a perfect game of chess when the game was checkers.

Harris was running on terror and death at home and worldwide, if she was not doing that she probably should've said so rather than claiming she'd be even harsher on immigrants.

The fascism didn't show up at the last election day, it was already there. The billionaires have always been after the jobs, the homes, the healthcare. That's why they fund both prescribed parties.

You got fooled by both sides do it bs. Now you know, Dems would never let a creature like the dumpster be in charge of everything fucking thing!!! What is going on now is an outrage, stupid people lying 🤥 to our faces, stealing our money, taking our votes and laws away!!

Interesting! Whereas many of us who didn’t skip the election actually believe that inequality is at the heart of America’s problems and health care should be available to everyone

I didn't realize they were such a huge part of the electorate. Do you think the Democrats should have run a better campaign to boost turnout? I was working the polls on election day and even tho my area went big for Kamala turnout was BAD.

The lesson here is obvious: the Harris campaign failed to reach voters they desperately needed by tacking right and doubling down on the policy of genocide. As long as they continue to court Republicans over the younger, more progressive crowd they will lose. The question is whether they will learn.

Kamala Harris was a MORE progressive senator---and a MORE EFFECTIVE ONE---than Saint Bullshit has EVER been in his long back bencher career of naming post offices. So there's that. SIX MILLION BIDEN VOTERS from '20 failed to show up in '24. The Bernholio donor class helped that happen.

And again (2016 all over again), the same voters fell for the popular progressives. Progressive is as progressive does: Sanders has sponsored 421 bills, of which three have passed during his 28 years in office AP & LawShun. Then we have Joe Biden Admin:

Real naive people who think the Dems aren’t trying and Bernie or someone can just wave a magic wand and make everything change because they *believe* harder. Plenty of real people, that’s the target of the fake people.

And yet they still didn’t vote when Bernie and AOC endorsed Harris … where did they think letting GOP run everything left any efforts by the politicians they *do* like to make any progress?

This is what I do not get about these folks: your favorites are urging you to back the nominee and you still don’t and then act surprised when the country regresses even further from anything Bernie or AOC support

What I keep hearing from them, is they knew what would happen and are happy about it (not citing their reasons). It's utterly a lack of critical thinking and a want to punish everyone else because of political policy. This was a domestic election! tRump supported Isreal too and especially Netanyahu

We had our election in Canada between conservative centrist and Maga wannabe creep. I am a devout progressive so I made peace with my options: not throwing away my vote or living in a Russian psyop. Easy choice.

Skipping voting like this kind of not voting? (I favor Sanders and AOC myself, but, thankfully, was able to vote for Harris.) bsky.app/profile/greg...

Here’s one of the most evil schemes announced by the violently partisan GOP Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger. (I use “evil” most carefully). Amongst other purges, he’s announced Georgia will remove 87,027 voters because they’ve filed Change of Address forms with the Post Office.

I get it. But if that was the case, they should’ve voted for VP Harris who campaigned on changing how economics work in America. She talked over and over and over again about how the old ways of trickle down economics does not work. Could she have done more? Absolutely. But they should’ve let her.

Oh, seriously f*ck these people. How arrogant and shortsighted are these idiots? Their answer to fighting inequality is to sit on their ass and welcome the hellscape this country has become? Truly astounding ignorance. Sickening.

EXCLUSIVE: Dem voters who skipped 2024 have purity tests that no one can *really* pass and will move these goal posts at the next interview. They walk away muttering “suckers” underneath their breath. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I’m just less interested in running someone *like* etc and much more interested in helping folks realize that politics IS part of daily life, the value of getting involved, start locally and realize how much this work impacts everyone but specifically the marginalized.

Stop waiting for a *person* to excite you enough to get off your tush … that’s porn that drives that type of excitement, not politics. Focus on your rights, your opportunity, the environment and what your values for life are … basic life sh*t

Why should I care what people who can’t be bothered to vote think? They are unreliable and selfish people who can only be counted on if they get 100% of what they want. Fuck them! They chose Trump by staying home.

And if the Democratic party continues on their FASCIST ENABLING "mODeRaTe" agenda that funds and fuels GENOCIDE and the VILE CAPITALIST HELLSCAPE, they should just surrender to the Retrumplican filth now.

The next dem has to be someone who will quickly do big things. Unfortunately, it’s way easier to break things than build them. They also must stop with norms. No, Patel does not need to run the fbi for 10 years. And Dems must raise taxes on big donors. The system is not fair.

At this point the only thing beating trump is epstein & the dems will still not attack him on it. This should be blood in the water but there's radio silence. Why would anyone vote for ppl that spent the inter election cycle years watching their soaps?

I’m actually seeing Dems fight hard on this one. Booker wrote a letter to bove making sure everyone knows he’s covering for trump. And wyden from this morning. bsky.app/profile/wyde...

Senator Ron Wyden@wyden.senate.gov

New bombshell from my investigators on Epstein's sex trafficking operation: the Trump administration has an Epstein file detailing 4,725 wire transfers and almost $1.1 billion flowing through just one of his banks. Hundreds of millions more through others.

When the clear choice was a vote between Fascism vs Not Fascism, they choose sit this one out because the Democratic Party wasn't offering them everything they wanted. But don't worry, they'll show up next time as long as they promise them everything they want. Maybe. Yay I guess? 🤷‍♂️

Who exactly said "they believe inequality is at the heart of America's problems" and decided to stay home?!? We all know who benefits more from affirmative action and DEI. We also know who understood the homework in 2024.

You don’t agree though, your position is to prioritise insulting people over getting their votes to help you win. I really don’t understand the mental model where you think what you’re doing is helping, because it blatantly isn’t.

Considering the Dems lost the election because they skipped the election, I'd say they have to listen to them unless you're perfectly fine with them being a permanent minority party entirely reliant on a phantom electorate that will just keep them in power out of fear of Trump alone.

The disaffected masses want a political revolution. The MAGA crowd thought they were getting that with Trump. Too many Democrats are afraid to lead a true political revolution for the left. I think AOC, Crockett, and a few others are capable; but their own party needs to get out of the way.
