Q: "Are you considering tariff relief for small businesses?" Trump: "Why do you always mention, you know, a couple of little businesses. What about the car business?"

The only thing he remembered from the briefing he was given before the interview was something about the car industry and so he couldn’t cope when asked about small businesses.

This answer shows how much disdain he has for every day Americans. He has used the working class grievances to catapult his political career, but he couldn’t care less about them. He not only doesn’t understand the economics of any of this, but he fails on a human level as well

Millions of small business owners voted for him because they some how think "Republicans are great for commerce!" when historically nothing has been further from the truth. Trump is already getting them primed to blame Biden to avoid any responsibility - and they'll do it because low brain power.

I promise you they already are, and they are saying this is what I wanted, it’s what I voted for. I might lose for a bit but he has a plan. I’m glad immigrants are gone and we shouldn’t be dependent on China. I’ve heard it straight from their mouths.

And do they think he's gonna wave a magic wand and a manufacturing plant is gonna pop up in 2 weeks? Americans will work those companies, meaning you have to pay American wages, meaning the products will cost more in the end any way. I'd love to hear them "play it forward" on how this will go.

It’s bizarre, they created a false narrative, a past that didn’t exist, have completed twisted our American ideals. Was it the secretary of commerce said last week - you’ll have security, you, your children and grandchildren will work in the same factory. That’s the most unamerican thing I’ve heard.

What a fucking moron! Does he know that most employers are small businesses? Isn't there someone in his misadministration that can clue him in on life in the U.S.??

Right, why would Trump care about small businesses? They don't have any cards. They can't afford to line his pockets by "investing" in his memecoin, or bung him a few million bucks for a plate of airline food and 15 minutes in his presence at Mar A Lago. They're useless losers to him.

King Arthur had his knights of the round table. King Trump has his nuts of the gold sneakers. I hear he's having a gold crown made for his birthday inauguration parade.😂🤣

I don't think Welker is unprepared. She just has to operate within very odd constraints. She can't be confrontational, because Rcons would stop appearing on the show, and advertisers would be displeased. But she's still expected to pretend to be "asking tough questions". It's an impossible job.

He’s an idiot. He believes “small” equals weak and insignificant. It’s a trigger word for him. He wants Greenland and Canada so America can be physically closer in size to Russia. Because that is his measure. Big = strong. Small = weak. His brain is not playing chess, it’s not even checkers.

Some of these interviewers need to go back to school. The first response to him should have been the facts - “There are 34.8 million small businesses in the US. These small businesses make up 99.9% of all businesses in the country. Small businesses employ 59 million workers…”

Because they're given orders from the top down not to make him look 'too' bad. There is no honesty or integrity in corporate media. Corporate media is the sole reason this piece of shit wasn't already rotting in prison in the 90's, let alone 2016.

You’re right.I just wish they had more self-respect, maybe saved more money so they could say fuck you and walk, start their own Substack a la Katie Phang etal. Easy for me to say, it’s just when so many enable him, they destroy their own career anyway. Wouldn’t they rather do it to themselves?

There are millions of small/micro business that either design/sell products made in China or use Chinese inputs for products they manufacture in the US. These are companies that can't absorb or retool around tariffs. Millions of Americans working for these companies will be laid off within months.

Small town Republican business owners should sleep well tonight knowing that the guy they elected to save their businesses that were operating at a profit before his election couldn’t care less about them now that they are dying & can no longer give him money

Chamber’s of commerce almost never favor “small” businesses. They’re run based on member contributions so they work for whoever can pay them the most. In a towns chamber of commerce that’s the biggest businesses in town, at the national level it’s huge multinational corporations.

Small businesses employ 45.9% of American workers and account for 43.5% of GDP. Trump doesn't understand that, because he's an elitist fraud moron with a 2-digit IQ who thinks a dozen eggs cost less than a dollar and that water from the north flows downhill to the south.

In the U.S., 99.9% of businesses are considered small businesses. These small businesses employ approximately 47% of the private sector workforce. There are roughly 33.2 million small businesses in the U.S. Unfortunately, small businesses don’t make giant donations to greedy politicians.

Meanwhile……Trump’s “little business” is going well. He has the Saudis & other countries shoving money into his pocket. His crypto scam is going well. He is running a pay-top-play out of the Oval Office. And more corrupt schemes. The rest of us out here are seeing our checkbooks go up in flames 🔥

Real estate is an industry of small businesses, most agents are LLCs, inspectors, title agencies in most cases are small businesses. Big tech has tried and failed to take over. IMO all these lawsuits and rule changes in RE is to break up this industry. They want to take away fair housing, the ethics

Listen to him, small business owners & employees. He doesn’t care about ‘the little guy.’ He only wants big guys in business. He’s going to make it so the US pays for years to come because of how he’s damaged the US brand.

Bahahaha! And yesterday was the start of the SBA’s National Small Business Week 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I just can’t with this fool 🤡

"A couple of little businesses" ? There are 33,185,550 small businesses in the United States. Small businesses employ 61.7 million Americans, totaling 46.4% of private sector employees. Small businesses in the US make up 99.9% of all US businesses.

Small businesses make up 99.9% of all U.S. firms, with around 33.3 million of these businesses in total across the country.28 They’re also responsible for almost two-thirds of newly created jobs in the U.S. between 1995 and 2021. USA Today

Ah yes, because “a couple of little businesses” struggling to survive just aren’t as important as our big, beautiful businesses. Who cares if Main Street burns—as long as the corporate jets keep flying and the golf courses stay open, right? Real man of the people energy!

Doesn’t he know that small businesses are the backbone of our economy? Sooo…he is disregarding how small businesses will be impacted by his tariffs? That means that he an ignorant front lemming that is leading the American herd over the economic cliff.

life isn't good if all the small businesses close. People would hardly eat out since our choices would be limited to applebees-like establishments. Lawns would get super overgrown. Peoples would abandon their cars or home as soon as they need an oil change or a new roof.

Hmmm, I know Trump has dementia and his MAGA crew are not real Republicans but a cornerstone of being Republican was not just being pro-business but pro-Small-Business. As per the SBA: '99.9% of American businesses are small. Small businesses employ 46.4% of U.S. workers' (60 million people).

MAGA: “If a person doesn’t need to buy something, the government should make it more difficult to buy it.” The dream policy position of every business owner or manager.

Small electronics instrumentation manufacturer here, who will be hit hard, perhaps terminally, by these tariffs. I did everything I could to get Harris elected. I knew he would be devastating for small business (who could not afford to bribe him sufficiently) and terrible for the country.

my husband, all voters in our family and even grandparents did NOT. my husband owns a small biz and there is no loling here bcuz it’s being impacted by the trade war. i know you said congrats for those who did but we are all on this sinking ship together. his biz goes down we lose our house.

Really, why should you keep reminding him about the little worthless people in the country that don't pay him $250 mil to get a seat at his cabinet table, the Lincoln bedroom and late night ice cream!

“A couple of little businesses.” These are the “forgotten people” to whom he promised he would be their voice, for whose concerns he said he’d advocate. Now, the mask is off. He doesn’t care about small businesses. At. All. #smallbusiness

“Car business” is made up of thousands of small businesses that support or feed off of it. Parts, service, finance, insurance, advertising. You mess with dealership’s ability to move new vehicles it has a trickle down effect to numerous other businesses.

Like I’ve mentioned elsewhere on here: “Small Businesses in our country generates over 64% of new jobs and statistics has shown that they play significant role in job creations, economic growths, and community developments! This guy; the dude y’all are calling our president is a FUCKING idiot!!!!!”

There are almost 14 million businesses in the United States with average annual revenues below $500,000. Small businesses with one to four employees averaged under $400,000/year in revenues.

Because America actually runs on all the small businesses out there- all the “mom and pop” stores that actually provide convenience and service to the many small towns, and yes large towns and cities. Trump is clueless because all his money comes from donations by mega corporations.
