Hey, I did a new thing! I set up a labeller for the games industry. I've gone through a few folx that I already had on lists, but if you want one of the labels applied to you just ping the labeller and I'll get you added when I can. 😁 @ozone.birb.house

⭐ GAMES INDUSTRY LABELER INSTRUCTIONS v2 ⭐ The automated labeler is working! Let's walk through the new process of getting a label! 🧵 #GameDev

If you look at your profile, you'll see that labels have been placed on your account, if any. If you click on that, then you can see exactly which ones:

would someone that catalogs video games and its events for a database be fit in any of the labels? i think the closest is Games Journalist but i don't know 😅

There's deffo SOME label that will apply... Do you have links to your work that you could share? I need to figure out if there's an existing label that works or if I need to create a new one. 😁

Nope, just subscribe! The labels will show on other profiles, but they’re applied manually on request. If you don’t request any labels, you won’t get them. 😁

I don’t know if that would apply to me even, as I’m not so much on the biz dev side? I’m a producer and very much focused on production coordination, I just happen to work at a publisher.

Hey, I actually wrote up a thread this morning to explain it! No more confusion! 😁

I've created a labeler for the game dev industry here on Bluesky, but first, it's time for a bit of tutorialisation... WTF is a labeler‽ 🧵

Is this mainly for professionals / aspiring indies? I'm interested, but also mainly a hobbyist. On the other hand I've helped with ~50+ games or so, have published on Steam, and have major mods under my belt. Would I count for the Game Dev label if I mostly Jam and make small stuff?

Yes please! There are a lot of tags for me to filter thru, so having them all on the labeled would be v helpful. 😁

This is great. May I suggest a *Games Audio* label for the sound designers, composers, mix and mastering engineers, recording engineers, field recordists, possibly voice actors etc. ?

Yayyyy thanks! My company does wiki work for studios, but devs have shouted at me that it still counts as "dev" so 😂👍🏾 If there's ever a general Games Industry or Games Service one tho I may return...
