sorry but I'm just gonna keep reposting this every time some relevant shit is happening so it's gonna be like daily soon
we built up this crazy substrate of computers and networks and software and spread it all over the world, pushing it into every little crack we could find. and now we built a new class of organism that just happens to natively thrive in this substrate. it's gonna get a lot weirder
Nowadays tho I just occasionally reread this article once every few months, go insane for a bit, and then try to forget about

ok it was more than a couple of days but here it is: xo, for people with ADHD who would like to use AI agents to help them with that. the idea is that this gets you moving from a standing start: you set up your agent and then your agent helps you set up your agentic environment. hope it helps.
putting together a kind of quickstart kit for ADHD users and LLMs, i'm excited about this, should have it up in the next couple of days

Thinking about the future, and I'm not a pure doomer. I think the best metaphor is still @greatdismal.bsky.social's jackpot: an extremely multicausal rolling apocalypse over about 30 years, arriving at the same time as something not entirely unlike the singularity. I'd say we're about 10 years in.
surely these guys have read the first chapter of a fire upon the deep D:
He admits that it’s very uncomfortable when they don’t understand an optimization Although he says they did indeed fold optimizations in that they didn’t understand They had validation suites to weed out regressions, and later understood why the optimization works

kinda crazy that 18 months ago we were making crazy tradeoffs about the protocol in the name of the devex for median saasmongers now outstripped by opus 4.5
the demotion of service proxying in favor of app-first optimistic writes to make writing an atproto app easier feels like ulysses going "dude cut just a couple of the coils of rope bro itll make it easier for me to hear the song if i can move a bit"

That the EU is the government most supportive of open social network makes @vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu announcement that the EU will do a continent-wide ban on social media for 15- children very funny

this is huge and very exciting for the social web! for folks not as deep in the web standards world: Sam works on the Google Chrome browser team. the FedID CG is part of the W3C, the web standards body, so this is all being done in the open and other browsers and protocol ecosystems can benefit
@thisismissem.social @divy.zone and I recently went through an exploration of how the browser can help you login to websites with atproto accounts. We recently presented to the FedID CG and here is a sneak peek in case you couldn't join! This is early but we'd love your input before we go too far!

please like and repost this i wanna see if i can get over 30 notifications to test if this witchsky.app limitless unread badge feature works
huh, pretty good analogy
Is it just me or are people confusing wildly different concepts like technology itself (whether an automobile can be trusted to move) with its first-order effects (pedestrians now at risk of being hit by cars) or intervention by business advocates (the invention of jaywalking as a concept)

both things would be really nice to have in atproto too btw
afaict nostr is still more resilient to relays turning evil or going down than bsky is. 1) it has a standard way to publish a list of alternative relays in case something happens to the main one 2) it is expected for clients to connect to multiple relays at once and deduplicate posts
