Beyond a new rape allegation, the @democrats-judiciary.house.gov report implicates current Attorney General Todd Blanche, stating he "may have engaged in criminal obstruction of justice while acting on a mission to protect Trump," referring to an interview with Ghislaine Maxwell. Seems like news!
It's really damning. The accusations are numerous and well-supported. But I was really struck by the descriptions of Trump's behavior -- the name dropping, strong-arming, and attempts to buy off silence. His gross rivalry with Epstein. It's all so familiar. It's shit he's been doing his entire life.
Beyond disgusted by even more rape allegations against the President of the United States.
"In total, more than 25 different women...have independently accused Donald Trump of rape, sexual assault, or other sexual misconduct."

Here's Sir David Attenborough on why this huge, heart-shaped piece of the UK in Northumberland is so important. A chance like this to save massive space for nature won't come again. £11,000 donated yesterday, £1.37m still to go by the end of the month - the time is now! 💚 #conservation#ukwildlife
One final sprint to save a landscape - £28m secured, £2m to go! Donation matching until the end of the month - the Wildlife Trusts are so close to buying the largest chunk of the UK offered for sale in 30 yrs. Landscape-scale protection, to hold a 40-mile wide nature corridor together for wildlife.
After three months in power, how do Britons feel Andy Burnham matches up with their expectations?
Expected him to do well, he has: 23%
Expected him to do well, disappointed: 12%
Expected him to do poorly, better than expected: 14%

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot
A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead:

I am a huge disaster nerd (hi @nameshiv.bsky.social and @rahaeli.bsky.social) and my first obsession as a kid was the Titanic
it really cannot be overstated how absolutely heroic the Carpathia was once they learned what had happened to the Titanic, this is worth your time
To be frank, this is approaching Charles I's attempt to arrest the Five Members in 1642 and we ought to treat it with the same gravity.
And perhaps remind those involved how things turned out for Charles I after 'all his birds had flown.' How about we not restage this particular episode?

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads
My heart breaks for mathematicians whose lives and careers are being destroyed by AI — and especially this PhD student, who doesn’t even know he is a poet
You can be sure that every single right wing commentator, along with every market analyst, will suddenly remember the existence of this deficit as soon as a Democrat is in the Oval.
Shouldn't be understated how damaging it is to signal and encourage certain sectors and industries to develop, only to pull away support at the moment activity begins to really get going, any supposed savings are eclipsed by the sunk costs of investing in skills and capital no longer needed
I don't really know what to say about the fact HM Treasury can't seem to get its head around the fact that heat pump grants are industrial policy not household subsidy.
It doesn't signal great depth of policy thinking.

This is all very weird. Feels like when my six year old is winning a game by cheating and we’re basically all just waiting it out until we can start again

This is your occasional reminder that generative "AI" in particular could have been developed on public domain materials and/or licensed and compensated works but the major players intentionally, methodically and systemically chose to steal labor from working creative folks instead

What is happening in Kyiv right now is truly horrific. Millions of people are at risk of dying at any time. I'm not quite sure this really comes across, abroad.

I mean, at this point, it's fairly unambiguously paramilitarism. You've got a non-state actor using violence to further political objectives. It's flagrantly in breach of democratic principles several times over. Inaction would be the most ultimate failure of a democratic government.
This is my favorite picture on the internet (Former French Prime Minister Édouard Philippe defeats children in a game of dominoes during a visit to a school, September 2019)
Again, a lot of political economy, economics and IR research needs to start assessing possible scenarios for the global economy where current key producers of commodities or supply chain nodes might through war and state failure cease to be significant exporters for years on end
I feel like we are so used to living in a time of madness that we can't grasp just how insane the Kennedy Center dispute is. Trump took something that was running just fine and destroyed it because he couldn't put his name next to the murdered president whose memorial it is. That's completely nuts.

It's just a tantrum and should be treated as such, i.e. a meaningful punishment (blockade the parish until it gives up after 3 days, then double the size of the planned accommodation). Otherwise the govt are going to have to deal with these antisocial stunts anytime they need to do anything.

lol I just realized Trump is treating the voters like his construction crews on a building project. Tell them to do a job and then stiff them on the promised compensation.
I’ve reconciled myself to being to the left of any Labour government in my adult lifetime, but I didn’t anticipate that I’d also wildly diverge from them on whether masked gangs of fascist thugs should be allowed to break the law with impunity in the service of inciting racial hatred
Daniel Thomas / Danny Tommo has today marched his private army of blackshorts to Daily Mail HQ to demand a new house for his mum within 48 hrs, after they doorstepped her for a feature on him.
Apparently he plans to blockade them + cry at them until they do
Bet those lads are glad of the balaclavas
I know I have now said this three times in the last hour, but what do you mean they still haven't arrested Daniel Thomas?
This is his third incident, the first two were definitely illegal, the last is clearly a breach of the peace, he is identifiable and has literally recorded himself planning it!
Having reported on the climate crisis for 20 years I am here to inform you that warnings we've unleashed something with a >10% of destroying humanity will have less of an impact than you'd expect.
