The report looked at naturally occurring fluoride at heightened levels, not fluoride as an additive which exists at much lower levels. Also, the study was flawed. Also, IQ is bunk. And he said it backwards. But also a worm ate half his brain, he stole a whale head + staged the murder of a bear.
AT LEAST this seemingly conspiratorial RFK Jr. theory is based on actual peer reviewed science, BUT, he's taking it a bit out of context; meta-analysis found that for every 1 mg/L ( = 1ppm ) increase in urinary fluoride, there is a decrease of 1.63 IQ points in children. Leaded fuel was much worse.
Nope. This meta-analysis was done in countries with fluoridation levels that are twice as high as drinking-water fluoridation levels in the U.S.— its limited findings aren’t applicable in the U.S. And the monograph even states the topic needs more research.
The study referenced in that article has no study based in the US. 74 studies were included, and 64 of those were in China. That alone makes the data irrelevant to the US. Unless you replicate the data here in the US cannot infer the results to the US population. jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...
It's like water itself. A little bit is healthy, but too much can kill you, and not just by drowning. You can die from water "poisoning". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_p...
"The findings of the present study suggest subtle impulse control difficulty as a result of heroin use...They tended to be reckless, ignore the rules and regulations of the task, and lack an overall plan for solving the task" www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
Why isn't RFK Jr. talking about lead instead of fluoride? Exposure to lead in childhood causes lower IQ and other long-term health effects. Lead from air pollution, water pipes & tainted foods are impacting half of all U.S. citizens living today. today.duke.edu/2022/03/lead...
Research shows an inverse correlation for high fluoride concentrations, lessening for 4mg/L to 2mg/L, and disappearing below 1.5mg/L. Municipal fluoridation is recommended at 0.7mg/L i.e. half of where an IQ difference was detectable. jamanetwork.com/journals/jam... www.cdc.gov/fluoridation...
Correlation is not causation. Maybe the worm ate that part out of his brain.
