RFK Jr: "All of the ingenuity of corporate America has not produced an infant formula that is superior in nutrition and all the qualities that we want to the infant formula that God made, which is the infant formula in a mother's breast."

Seriously tho… I’d pay real money yea for anyone at that meeting to have piped up at that statement with, “Yeah, about that… Who in the fuck asked the three of you, anyway? It obviously wasn’t women…”

It wouldn’t be odd if they were knowledgeable, but they’re coming from an ideological perspective rather than a medical one. Some mothers can’t provide enough milk for their babies, and there are times when all mothers need to feed at times when a bottle is more appropriate.

Nine kids? I knew they were super-duper Catholic (they spoke a a Catholic youth/abstinence conference I took teens to before I finally got out--that was one of the last straws, actually). But geez.

Duffy & his wife Campos, on FOX, are hypocrites. Campos had a woman on her show who wrote a book about how feminism destroyed working mothers when they should be home raising kids. Campos called Feminism the same as communism. Meanwhile she works while a nanny cares for her kids aged 5-26 yrs old..

Only as odd as male politicians and unelected bureaucrats with no medical background, no experience and no evidence discussing vaccines, abortion, and transgender healthcare as though they know anything at all…

Just wanted to point out that not all can or want to breast feed. I survived and thrived on formula in the 50's. My children survived and thrived on formula in the 80's and 90's. It's a bad look to have only men discuss this.

These are the same men who would complain if a woman breastfeeds in public. Women should be free to breastfeed in cafes, restaurants & other public spaces, not hidden away in facilities for breastfeeding. Also breast is not always best. Some women have insufficient nutrients in their breastmilk.

^this - it ought to be fine and normal to breast feed in public! Breasts in this context should not be seen as sexual. The paradox here is that too much attention from men is the problem so these men being so interested is exactly wrong. And segregating mom's is scary I think.

Is nursing ok on the subway Sec Duffy because you seem like the kind of person that wouldn’t be ok with that, in fact I’m sure you’d prefer it not be done in public. Let us know the best way sir.

yeah and probably none more weirder than the SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION weighing in(!) Sean, just find some scammy product to pitch on late-night tv or something...don't tie yourself to RFK Jr, it's bad enough that you're already *IN* this administration

What women love: men telling them they should choose motherhood over career, pain or fever during pregnancy, and how to feed their babies. Do they think this will entice women to have babies?

Please. Do not tell women what to do, for goodness sakes. You’ve got no clue what it’s like to be pregnant, deliver a baby, feed it, care for it, manage a household, and often hold down a full-time job outside the home. Keep your counsel to yourselves.

Odd is an odd choice of words. Perverted is more appropriate. This administration makes everything as creepy as possible! They're all wildly unqualified to be talking about women's greats much less breastfeeding.

Also, 9? Nine? NINE CHILDREN?? 😮 These christofasciasts and their breeding k*nks. And their digging deep with the content creators. Good grief! They're unqualified, unserious and unrepentant in their stupidity.

It shouldn't be that awkward to recognize there's a need for that. One should probably also not phrase it all in such a way that would make Freud's eyebrows do new and interesting things. One should probably shut up and solicit information from experts.. and not "content creators"

Remember dress up for flights & do your sweaty pull-ups in your new dress code for airports & let’s control the standard for feeding infants on flights… Because everyone wants to wave their boobs around while traveling in they best clothes.

Reporter: “oh good, you brought it up, we were thinking it was fucked, so have any of you talked to a therapist or is this cry for help the signal that we should schedule an appointment for you?”

Nobody is forcing anyone to do anything, chill tf out. I don't think too many people care to pump in public and these accommodate that. I'm an IBCLC, not trying to start a war, just passing on info. Kudos to you, but some people don't want to in public.

NOTHING ODD ABOUT IT AT ALL WHEN ALL THREE OF YOU ARE PROBABLY IN THE FILES AND SPENT MANY HAPPY DAYS ON EPSTEIN'S ISLAND FIGURING OUT THE BEST WAY TO NURSE YOUR BABY. THE NEXT TIME I GO TO THE UK I'LL MAKE SURE I WEAR A GOWN. I WOULD BE EMBARRASSED TO INCL MY WIFE IN A DUMB COMMENT LIKE THAT.

you can stop before the "but", pal. It's extremely odd. You three assholes need to sit the fuck down, shut the fuck up, and find some less crazy people to talk. Maybe get actual mothers up in this piece. The sort of people who would be affected by your preposterous decisions.

Oh and here’s a novel idea SEAN . . .women don’t need facilities to breastfeed their babies they need a reasonable, sane, normal society that can handle public breastfeeding.

Same, struggled with both. Thank god for formula so I could feed my kids while waiting for my milk to come in. In ye olden days, probably my first son would’ve died or would’ve had bad liver damage from not being able to eat for the first week.

I wasn't able to either. It isn't a given that every mother will be able to breast feed. rfk jr./republicans is all about controlling women, making them subservient to others. they want women to be property again without rights and without the right to vote most notably!

You know, as a new mom I found the Le Leche league representative annoying and pushy about my personal decision to NOT breastfeed in the hospital. THIS, tho, is SO much worse. RFK is a bonafide schmuck, and actively working to get people killed by preventable illness.

So sorry that a LLL leader was so annoying. i was a LLL leader in CA, and would never judge a new mother for her decision. I know that LLL was founded by Catholic women, and I simply overlooked that. I was able to support many new mothers, and it is a highlight of my life.

Better than it used to be, but still not great. I had my daughter in 2004. I was as able to take 3 months off - unpaid. Husband had no parental leave and had to use vacation time.

I breastfed all my babies and was glad I was able to because it fit what I wanted. The truth is that fed is best, however you do that. Every parent who cares for kids and does the best they can is a hero.

I breastfed my babies, mostly, but for both of them it took a couple of weeks because a newborn's mouth can only open about an inch and that was the **diameter of my nipples at birth**. If they hadn't had formula supplrment early on, they might not have made it to breastfeeding.

I chose not to breast feed for my own personal reasons. It wasn't as popular in 1980 anyway. When I told my doctor I wanted the shot to dry up my milk he wanted to know why I wasn't breast feeding. When men can breast feed, let them decide. My daughter has a PhD in biochemistry.

Yep, sickest I have ever been. I fully breastfed a set of twins till they were two among my 8 years. Used to dream about being fully hydrated. Fed is best and it’s rarely easy for anyone all the time.

I predict this brain worm addled heroin addict is concocting a plan to start a nationwide breast milk bank wherein the government pays women (milk maids) for their excess product. Sound crazy? Sure, but look where we are right now. I wouldn’t put the most bat shit scheme past these idiots 😳.

He has no right to be talking about this. My boys’ mom nursed our children, and pumping and harnessing breast milk was a lot of work for the two of us and painful and uncomfortable for her. There were many times that we had to supplement with formula, of which there are many great kinds. STFU, RFK!

The underlying drive is to increase the number of "white" babies. This is why they are so stupid. They just bombed their dream. Why would any non Christian Nationalist and/or severely abused women of any origin chose to have a baby now. I can't stand these people. We will not go backwards.

First there are many reasons a person may not be able to breastfeed. Second - how are you going to support breastfeeding in practical terms? Longer paid maternity leave? Require employers to provide breast pumping breaks until the child turns 2? Free breast pumps? More Breast feeding rooms?

They don't do support. You know, support is socialism. If you are a billionaires wife you'll be fine. That's what they want. That all the women belongs to them. Like Elon, he wants to impregnate all the women he wants. What do you mean creeps ? They are psychopaths.

They aren't going to support anyone who is breastfeeding, they want women to stay at home, produce white conservative babies like a conveyor belt, shut up and preferably never vote again. That's the point.

I nursed my kids, but that is not always an option for everyone. In one of my work places, employers (and some colleagues) were hostile about providing a clean and private room for moms to pump milk. The room set aside was cramped and not sanitary.

I fostered an infant. She needed formula and as a foster baby, got WIC. The Social Services Office, more than 20 years ago, was plastered with signs, "breast is best," so RFK isn't saying anything new. But there's always going to be a need for formula and trying to guilt women is the wrong message.

My son was breastfed until he was one. Every minute was torture for him and me. Turns out he was lactose intolerant. He spent his first year curled up in pain and crying. On the insistence of this logic from La Leche league. It's a personal choice Mr. Put my daughter on soy and had a dream baby.

Those "breast is best" campaigns were based on faulty science. bsky.app/profile/reve...

Reverend Moonshine@reverend-moonshine.bsky.social

The early science linking positive outcomes to breast feeding was based on correlation, not causation. That RFK hasn't caught up to the latest science surprises no one. fivethirtyeight.com/features/eve....

Same. We fostered preemies on multiple occasions and they needed special (and very expensive) formula, too. WIC helped so much. We used milk banks, too, but that's not always an option for everyone.

You should look into the history of formula. Nestle produced a severely diluted formula and used the same “breastfeeding is dirty” propaganda in rural Africa so mothers would buy their nutritionally insufficient formula. Thousands of infants died, and Nestle has never been held accountable.

RFK can f right off.. I was breast feeding my son who was a large hungry baby and got infections on both sides. I had to start formula because I couldn’t breast feed any more. I guess I should have, what, starved him???

My two kids (like most) increased their weight about 3x in their first year. In our case it was thanks to Costco formula, and I learned that a baby is a machine for converting white powder into more baby - just add water. And yes, they are both doing fine and are in college now.

If only every mother COULD produce milk, Bobby! Women are just incubators and milking machines to these assholes. If you can’t produce enough milk for your newborn, then God doesn’t want your child to live ig? 🤷‍♀️

jfc. many women can't work and can't be pumping milk at work for later usage. i was fortunate in that my wife was a stay at home mother for our 3 children but even then we still bought formula (which my youngest refused but that is another story) as a supplement.

As someone who was biologically unable to produce enough breast milk for my son, he can fuck right off the nearest pier. It's not breast is best. Being fed is best. Goddamn this motherfucking fetid chancre on a sweaty troll's nutsack.

This. I was very lucky to have a supportive doctor when it was clear I would need to supplement and then switch entirely to formula, but all of the cultural messaging still made me feel like a failure!

Yep- and guess what? Walk into any elementary school.anywhere and point out the breastfed kids? Or the kids with SAHM? You can't. You do the best you can for your own circumstance. Stop with shaming women for every damned thing.

Maybe tell RFK Jr that not everyone was able to get nutrition from their mother's breast. I was "allergic" to my mother's milk. But back then, I guess science didn't know about eliminating dietary things that mother was ingesting that could have been passed to me.

Also...can men who aren't medical doctors and who don't understand how women's bodies work please stop discussing them? Not all women can breastfeed. My mom tried just couldn't produce milk. I was a formula baby in 1971, and I am (relatively), happy, healthy, and well-adjusted.

I nursed four. Nursing is wonderful if you can do it and it’s right for you. But almost all babies are supplemented with formula at some point. Y’all want more moms to breastfeed? Four months minimum paid maternity leave and accessible breastfeeding supplies/support would help a lot.

As a mother who exclusively breastfed four babies into toddlerhood- fuck these idiots. Their entire personalities have become shaming mothers. Take your Tylenol, vaccinate, feed your baby, and sleep well at night knowing you didn't take parenting advice from ignorant misogynists.

Now they are shaming single mothers and same sex marriage, their new 2026 plan is to say women should be married and babies should have a mother and father. They are saying unmarried women can have kids what about girls and women who sre raped, they trying to day they should marry their rapist?

My wife breastfed the best she could, but our kids needed supplemental formula. She broke down in tears because she felt like she was a failure for needing to supplement. Assholes like this do so much damage by feeding into mothers' fears. Fed is best.

Same, sir. I have a raging anger in me 10 years later after seeing what it did to my wife and having to take calls from her as she was sitting in the car alone crying after another lactation consultant made her feel like shit…

That’s awesome. Maybe I was a bit overly harsh, but we had two and they both made my wife feel freaking horrible… It was crazy how he packed on the weight like a rocket as soon as we made that switch.

For all you folks who have pointed out that many women are unable to nurse (or to do so in sufficient quantities) … how much do you want to bet that RFK’s answer will be to: A) Argue that those women just aren’t trying hard enough, and/or B) Start a wet nurse incentive program

C) argue that those mothers aren’t consuming enough beef tallow (or some other grift) D) argue that those mothers shouldn’t be working E) argue that annual flu & covid vaccines are harmful to breast milk production

So creeped out by this fool? Using formula is an option, a decision many moms make for their babies and themselves - of course we want formula to be safe but the republicans can stay out of the decision making process with new moms/dads!

Perhaps that's true - this administration does not believe in legislating maternity leave or time for women to pump milk so it's not really helping their values come to fruition. Maybe they should look at the barriers THEY create instead of blaming the individual for our societal ills?

Cool. Cool. So I. 2025 were still pretending women never have milk production issues, injuries, or disabilities. Cancer survivors who've had mastectomies? Never get pregnant, I guess. Cool stuff, my guy

that is the first true statement he has ever made!! But some woman cant make enough milk or work and dont always have some stored for future use. The need to supplement is there

Someone should tell Jr that breast milk’s secret sauce is the mother’s body producing a custom formula based on the bacteria in the baby’s mouth on any given day. How much do you think it would cost to custom produce formula every day for every child? Fucking dumbass.

I didn't have enough breast milk, but guess what, my daughter did just fine on formula, which was certainly preferable to her starving to death. And she turned out a hell of a lot better than RFK Jr. so she's got that going for her, too.

There are some advantages to breastfeeding, but generations have done fine on formula. Any difference is minor, provided the parents have access to clean water. It's a choice. My guess would be that RFK Jr. was bottle-fed based on practices at the time, though I don't know.
