Stop framing rampant and blatant bigotry on the part of pathetic little manchildren as "controversy" on the part of the studio. Actually function like proper journalists instead of giving lip-service to people who hate Erika Ishii because that's all they have going in their lives.

A lot of people are hating this, but I admit that I respect that, after more than a decade of pretending your industry isn't loaded with disgusting transphobes, you're finally coming out and admitting it. I mean, you can all go fuck yourselves, but I can at least appreciate the honesty!

hey polygon if you'd like to make this fascist harassment into an ongoing series i can point you to other trans people who still have jobs to get fired from. hit me up and let's get to work.

can we just shut polygon down at this point like nobody's benefitting from it existing now it's become part of the valnet clickbait swamp

“Controversial” Hey Polygon grow the fuck up or imma unfollow and disappear from your readership. Judging by the ratio on your post here, I’m not alone either.

What a bullshit Fox News style article framing Erika as a “controversial” person when they are just an actor in the space who has done nothing remotely controversial (unless you’re a maga cult member)

this is shockingly irresponsible. I don't even really go here, like I swear I didn't even have an opinion about Polygon when I woke up this morning, but I certainly do now. this is pathetic even by the grimiest clickbait standards imaginable. you should all be fucking ashamed.

What a gross way to speak about a decorated voice actor repeatedly victimized by hate speech and has done nothing wrong. I guess being a victim of hate speach makes you controversial to Polygon. I am glad to never support y'all again. Get it together.

it's really telling that Francesco Cacciatore can't write an article without drumming up fake controversy. Like at that point give up dude.

It was only "controversial" on twitter, because twitter is a fascist hellhole and Erika Ishii is the opposite of everything those chuds stand for, so they flooded the replies with hate and vitriol, forcing Double Fine to lock the thread. But that's not a catchy click-bait headline.

This is a messed up way to cover this. Just because some fringe shitty people are voicing their bigotry yet again, doesn't mean you have to frame their views as worth of note. The error that you had to correct is fucked up as well. It's sad what has become of Polygon...

I've been on the edge with you guys ever since the Valnet takeover and you started in on the bullshit vague clickbait article headlines... but this garbage? This both-sides-ism for what is clearly a sexist, gamer gate gooner campaign is just too far. I'm done.

This piece is despicable. It tacitly legitimises the framing used by misogynistic, transphobic, racist gamergaters who harass industry folk based on gender, ethnicity, & sexuality. A voice artist targeted by these people does not become "controversial". This piece needs to be torn up & started over.

Putting aside the ugly framing, does this mean Amnesia Fortnight now lost stretch goals? This headline sucks from an information standpoint, let alone a bigotry one.

It doesn’t mean anything, the amount pledged on the Kickstarter keeps rising like it did before the announcement, nothing changed in fact they even had a boost because of the announcement

this framing is not cool. you need to stop giving weight to opinions that are toxic or which ultimately do not matter. calling it a controversy is like you pouring gasoline over a pile of wood and declaring inflammatory before dropping a match on.

What's controversial about an experienced and well-regarded person getting a job in their field? Surely you're not suggesting suggesting the fact that they're non-binary makes their hiring controversial; that would make you bigots.
