Same paper, same journalist, a few weeks apart. I'd say it was cognitive dissonance, but that gives them too much credit. It's simply propaganda in the service of xenophobia and racism

🧵 As front-page headlines go, this has to be one of the most misleading I've seen in a long time It's an out-and-out lie But notice the trick they use to get away with it...👀 *They're* not lying - they're just quoting someone else who is👍🏻 In this case, the leader of the opposition🙄 1/33

Fake passports. A money laundering conviction. A mystery casino fortune in Montenegro... There's yet more revelations about who Farage chooses to surround himself with. Let’s start with George Cottrell. A man Farage describes as "like a son," and his former chief of staff 👇

And here it is. For all the whining about condescension & belittling the poorly educated, nobody - and I mean nobody - holds Nigel Farage’s base in more profound contempt than Nigel Farage.

Nigel Farage. A proper football fan who hasn't moved an inch in almost two years.

The Conservatives’ Alternative King’s Speech claimed the welfare bill is higher than income tax receipts “for the first time ever”. We’ve heard this a few times recently, but it’s not true. Welfare spending (including pensions) has been higher for years.

I debunked the original headlines about these school guidelines when they first came out a couple of weeks ago. But then the Daily Mail pushed this on Facebook over the Easter weekend, so I felt the need to address that too! 1/6 🧵

Starmer should immediately & unequivocally ban access to British airspace to US warplanes. The UK should not be accomplice to a US President who is threatening more war crimes. Period.

This is a threat to wipe out an entire ‘civilisation’ which obviously includes civilians. Trump shows zero regard for international law. I don’t care what motivates him to make the world a scarier place day by day - whether it is thirst for oil or the distraction - he needs to stop.

Marcus Byron reposted

Never forget which side Farage is on. Because it’s definitely not ours. And we mustn’t let him rewrite history to claim that it is. He’s Trump’s boy. Ready to sell us out as soon as he’s required to do so.

Spain's renewables build-out has structurally decoupled its electricity prices from gas markets. Gas now sets the price in only 15% of hours, compared to 90% in Italy. Countries that invested early in clean power are far less exposed to fossil fuel price shocks. Those that didn't now pay the price.

Good on Angela Rayner. I do not believe the Mahmood plans have the support of the Labour party or Labour MPs.

Farage really is utterly repulsive. A racist, misogynistic, Nazi-sympathising, hate-filled grifting arsehole. And v much not a school boy any more, so god knows what his excuse will be this time. Totally unfit for office. This should be career-ending. The fact that it won’t be is deeply depressing.

Henry Dyer@direthoughts.com

We didn't just find his videos - we also found Farage's outtakes, which show when his money-making sideline is interrupted by a text message or phone call, requiring him to re-record the video, he appears quick to anger.

These people are poison. They will unleash racist thugs on the streets of this country and call it security. They will subjugate us to the US and call it patriotism. They must be stopped. There is no more important task in politics.

This is a blunt falsehood from Farage. 3.5m Epstein files were released on 30 Jan and on Jan 31, the FT carried a front-page story on Mandelson (see image). People like Farage seem to dislike reporters aslking questions. If you do like reporters asking questions, pay for some (any!) journalism.

Best for Britain@bestforbritain.org

Nigel Farage lashes out at a FT journalist and refuses to answer the question. Is this how Reform UK would ignore media questions if they got into government?
